Kate (K-ate) is the high soprano.
Tiffany is the second soprano. Her control is amazing.
Sarah (red head) is a soprano/alto mix.
Ashley is an alto as well. She has a wonderful mix belt and sings very clearly.
Chrystal (not in this video) is the lower register alto.
E.J. is a tenor. Oh Come All Ye Faithful displays his vocal control. It is out of this world.
Jamie is a tenor as well, but he also does all of the vocal arrangements. GENIUS!
Kurt is a bass, but can stretch to baritone.
Tony (no longer with the group) is a tenor.
J.C. (no longer with the group) is a bass.
Karl (not in this video) is a bass.
Drew (new member not in this video) is a tenor
Aaron (new member not in this video) is a bass.
And I think JC continues with the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet on Main Street. You did a nice job breaking this down for her.
A little late on this, but I’m pretty sure both Tony and Kurt are baritones. Kurt has probably the broadest range in the group as he has a solid bass voice but has a naturally high sounding voice with his most comfortable range seeming to be baritone
@@beckybirdsell2290 So funny enough Tony (Tony DeRosa) is actually a Lead. And he is in a internationally famous barbershop quartet called Main Street and was a member of the even more internationally famous Barbershop quartet Max Q. Tony is also able to sing Baritone and Tenor. Tony is actually one of the most famous Barbershoppers in the world and is among the top 3 most famous Barbershoppers in the Barbershop Harmony Society along side Jim Henry and Tim Waurick. I do believe he still coaches and works with Voctave he just might not sing with them anymore.
If anyone is interested: all these scores have one thing in common. They were all composed by the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. John Williams!

Tony de la Rosa (tenor who directs) and jc Fullerton (the bass you like) both have left the group, replaced by Drew Ochoa and Aaron Stratton. Karl and Chrystal joined the group after this video was made, but didn't replace anybody. Voctave's website has a picture and bio for each of their members.
@15:15 - Jamey Ray is the arranger for all of Voctave's pieces, and he is also the founder and creator of Voctave!

Ravenclaw house here...I've loved Voctave for years! Glad you found them. If/When they release their Prince Of Egypt Medley you've gotta give it a listen and reaction. It brings a lovely tear to my eye each time I hear it.

That was J. C. on the low bass in Jaws. He's no longer with the group, now Aaron is and he does sing the bass.
Lovely reaction as usual! As said before Jamey Ray was the arranger, but besides that all the songs were composed by John Williams. Definitely the composer for almost all of my favorite movies!

Yeah, I also feel Ashley may very well be a soprano (she sometimes sings 2nd soprano in the Voices of Liberty ), both her speaking and singing texture is pretty bright and light, she demonstrates great ease in the lower fifth octave belting (her Eb5 and E5 sounds nothing like a standard mezzo would, especially in terms of overtones content of timbre ) and her tessitura seems indicative of a soprano as well. Chrystal too (sang Pocahontas in the princess medley but she's not featured in this video) is a lyric soprano but harmonizes as low alto thanks to her welldeveloped chest register (her solo in I know where I've been is out of this world). Sarah (red hair) is the only one I'd consider high mezzo but still.. not sure, she manipulates her tone quite a bit. Tiffany and Kate are the two official sopranos, I heard Kate was trained as a coloratura, in fact she employs some kind of fioritura passages in many voctave arrangements; Tiffany is one of the best gospel soprano out there, she's able to perfectly match emotions and feelings with great technique, I strongly recommend Voctave's Impossible Dream where she takes the lead.
Love your reactions! This was an ode to the Great John Williams all from his movie scores ( Olympic Theme included). And they only had 9 singing here as opposed to their normal 11 members!! If you want to do a double dip of two short videos they do, Disney Show Stoppers ( featuring 3 of the guys) and from the Lion King,Stampede..mind blowing what human voices can do, especially the intro!!Jamey Ray, the middle tenor does all of the musical arrangements.
I was expecting to need to correct about half of this, but pleasantly surprised to find someone else who really knows what they're talking about! Good stuff.
That last note was so long! Amazing breath control by all of them.

I have a suggestion bit you might want to keep ot for around the holidays and Christmas is their rendition of "O Come All Ye Faithul" Also they have alot of Christmas music in their catalogue that awesome as well also their rendition of "Mary Did you Know"!!!

You have a great ear and point out nuances the average person (me) doesn't hear. Please do O Come All Ye Faithful, O Holy Night, Disney Love Medley, Mary Did You Know and Disney Park Medley.
The bass here is JC Fullerton, who left last year. You can find more about them on Wikipedia and can see what their actual ranges and voice types are if you look at their own page.
One of my favorite parts of Voctive is the way they drive every note to the end. And then you said the exact same thing as I was typing it. Crazy I learned the exact same thing when I sang in choirs in high school and college. Great review! Thxs

The sorting hat, obviously had a difficult time placing me. At first I was sorted into Hufflepuff, then into Ravenclaw. So I'm either Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. I'd put you in Hufflepuff! And if you didn't pick up on it, this was Voctave's tribute to John Williams. All these scores were compsed by John Williams.
Now you definitely gotta do Disney Showstoppers and Cinderella by them #subscriptonsquad

Voctave has three basses. Check Mr Grinch where all three are showcased. Then compare that to the Pentatonix version and finish with the Small Town Titans version for ultimate bass goodness.

Hmm to me you feel like a Ravenclaw, sort of that creative spirit that I associate with that house. I could see arguments for both Hufflepuff and Slytherin though, probably because I don't know you well enough xD normally I don't encounter many people that could fit both Hufflepuff and Slytherin, that's pretty unusual. Gryffindor would surprise me for some reason, you don't give me big Gryffindor vibes.
