The high soprano is a pure classically trained coloratura! She does everything in head voice here and she's gone upto G6 in their arrangements! :)

    Hi Danielle,
EJ Cardona, a high tenor, sang his Gummi Bears solo at the very end after taking over from Sarah Whittemore who is one of two altos and Jamey Rey. Kurt von Schmittou is a lyric baritone who was singing/impersonating Kermit the Frog. The high soprano is Kate Lott sustaining those high notes. Voctave initially had eight members and then grew to eleven members. Aaron Stratton replaced JC Fullerton in the bass section. Karl Hudson is the other bass who had the spoken dialogue in Darkwing Duck and Goof Troop. Drew Ochoa is the second tenor who replaced Tony De Rosa. Jamey Rey is the third tenor and the vocal arranger. Usually the melody is doubled in some measures by the other two sopranos, Tiffany Coburn and Ashley Espinoza, whenever Kate sings those high notes; if not, then the melody is tripled in some measures. Chrystal Johnson is the other alto.

The majority of these themes come from an Animation Block Disney had in the late 80's/early 90's called the Disney Afternoon. It was a great time of experimentation within the Disney Animated Television Departments with shows like Gummi Bears, DuckTales, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, the Aladdin Animated Series, the Timon and Pumbaa series, and Gargoyles to name a few.

I knew EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of those theme songs! I watched them all! I was laughing my head off at every one of them. Before the video started, I predicted 5 of them: Tail Spin, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, Gummy Bears, and Duck Tales. I guess the reason I knew them all was that I was a pre-teen - teen when these all aired.

Hi Danielle, welcome back to Voctave land. This was a fun, quirky video for them. This one was one of the first featuring the new members that replaced Tony and JC (I think) I was really hoping to see you react to their Christmas videos, especially “where are you Christmas” but they have plenty of others to overwhelm you. Again.

I was born in 1998 and I _recognized_ all the songs (though not until the chorus in Rescue Rangers' case). But the only show featured in this medley that I actually _watched_ as a kid was Winnie the Pooh, which I was COMPLETELY not expecting and utterly delighted to hear included~.

'83 and I knew all of them, though I can't say I ever really watched Gummi Bears the intro's pretty iconic on these kinds of lists so I've heard it plenty of times.
Born in 1995 you would have missed the first golden age of Disney Saturday morning cartoons, which is pretty much all of these, along with the spin-off shows from the various Disney movies, which they made for stuff like Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Hercules, Tarzan, etc. These run from mid '80s through to mid/late '90s. I'd guess you were probably the Kim Possible generation, which was the second golden age of Disney Saturday Morning cartoons.

  • @kazzellinempanger8998
    @kazzellinempanger8998 2 года назад

Oh! The Disney Line Up! These were the cartoons we latch-key kids got to watch between getting home from school and our parents getting dinner on the table!
-Tale Spin took some of the characters from the Jungle Book and put them on a island caldera with planes as the main transportation method (Sheer Khan the tiger was a cut-throat businessman, Baloo the bear was a pilot, and King Louie had an island bar)
-Goof Troop was about Goofy and his family
-Duck Tales was mainly Scrooge McDuck and the triplets, and is running as a modern remake on D+
-Darkwing Duck was in the same universe as Duck Tales, so there was some crossover (not to mention Launchpad McQuack was his sidekick); he's basically their version of Batman
-Winnie the Pooh was a Saturday morning one, I think; I didn't get to see that one
-Chip n' Dale's Rescue Rangers took the main characters from the goofballs they were to private investigators with two new mice characters
-Muppet Babies (Saturday morning) took the muppets and turned them into little kids, similar to the one fantasy scene Miss Piggy has in the carriage ride, if you've ever seen Muppets Take Manhattan; it's not been released to DVD or anything due to copyright issues with all the crossover bits the show did
-Gummi Bears (Saturday morning) was kind of like the Smurfs, but with Bears, two little kid friends, and a knight/prince instead of a wizard; I honestly can't say the candy came first--I've never looked into it.
My main grump with the DVD versions of these is the episodes weren't done in chronological order, but the shows that were in the opening number, followed by all the other ones, randomly.
This is a fun melody of the theme songs, though, and that soprano is very impressive!

I'm from '86, and I knew all of them except the one at 7:47, after Chip and Dale. But I know them all in Danish, a few of them in German and Swedish, and Gummi Bears also in English... Gummi Bears is my favourite of these, but of course Voctave makes them all sound good, and the Gummi Bears theme was the first thing I learned to play on piano 🙂
    Great reaction as always..

Nice reaction, Danielle! Regarding members, they have 11 permanent members (all of whom are featured in this video as well as in the "You Will Be Found" video you reacted to). Their earlier videos feature Tony De Rosa and JC Fullerton, but they left 2 years ago and were replaced by Drew Ochoa and Aaron Stratton during spring of 2020. A few of their earlier videos also feature collaborations, such as Disney Love Medley that you reacted to, and "Someone Like You" with Jody McBrayer (I highly recommend that video for a future reaction).
Definitely check out their renditions of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", "Smile", and "Moon River".

I have to say that I love it way more than the original Judy Garland version and after you listen to it the first couple of times to absorb and appreciate the soloist,

Even though I was born in ‘66, I knew them all. Didn’t watch any of the shows but we had the Disney Channel & my younger siblings watched all of these, a lot! lol - Disney was the only channel that my parents didn’t care what we watched on it because it was always wholesome programming; So the Family Room TV always had The Disney Channel on. So any time I was at my parents house, especially in the 90s, you would hear these in the background! lol
Excellent reaction, btw. Please do more Voctave! They have a ton of great stuff to choose from too.

You are too cute to be true!! Thanks for doing this. Though they have had as few as 8, ( the Great Movie medley you reacted to had 9 ) The regular/touring group is 11.....5 women-6 men. The coloratura soprano is Kate ( as in gate ) Lott. She is a wonderful freak and that is head voice. EJ, the amazing tenor, did the Miss Piggy, because nobody else in the group could do it!!LOL..... VOCTAVE V is the Roman numeral for 5 sooooo 5 octave group. Their fans that have seen them live swear they sound every bit as good, if not better live. They have , I think, 2 more virtual videos. One is them singing Smile.. ( Charlie Chaplin song) Soooooo beautiful. The other is The Trolley Song from Meet Me In St Louis. Very short, live performance ( cell phone) off the cuff, at a cafe where they were eating. ruclips.net/video/tWEwrZs73UI/видео.html

It's unfair for me to challenge most people to TV theme songs from the 1960s-2000.
IDK why I have hundreds of theme songs memorized.
Disney Afternoon technically started with Gummi Bears in the late 80s, but didn't officially start until 1990 with DuckTales.
As a Batman fan, Darkwing Duck was my favorite show, but Gummi Bears is my favorite theme from their era.
