Coheed and Cambria band is from Woodstock NY area. Claudio Sanchez is an absolute musical genius! His voice, guitar, writing, song arranging is epic and they are ALL so talented! We are huge Coheed super fans and LOVE seeing them perform in person. Their concerts are amazingly fun! Best rock band ever! ❤️🎸😍
I HIGHLY suggest you listen to In Keeping Secrets of Silent earth: 3 by Coheed and Cambria, preferably the live one but both work. It really shows off his amazing voice and how high he can really go. He’s amazing and definitely my favorite vocalist.
This band has been my favorite since 2001. We just saw them in DC with Primus. Claudio unfortunately lost his voice and couldve just walked away with an apology. Instead they played their entire set and the audience sang for him. It was amazing 👏
9:30 That's a technique I use called "Scream as hard as you can to try to fix whatever's going on with your throat" lol. His voice sounds slightly clearer after it. From what I've been told it's bad for you in the long term but it gets me through a show when I'm sick lol
They're from New York USA. They are one of my favorite bands. Their live shows are so epic. This was part of a "Neverender" full album play through. They had female vocalists there to help with some of the higher pitched parts live at the time. He plays and sings and it is super difficult to do at the same time at that kind of level. They have concept albums, so a lot is based in real life but are part of an overarching sci-fi comic series that goes along with the music
Ok, my first comment is that the first few licks on the guitar were absolutely nostalgic for me as they reminded me of the theme song for the old GameBoy version of Tetris... XD The guitarist was incredible! The voices were insane! Those lyrics were...psychotic! LOL Thank you Mel for this absolute VIBE! Thank you DJ for a fabulous reaction...
I have been listening to this band since 2002 and have been to multiple shows. Every album is part of a sci-fi story written by the lead singer, the audience fills in certain chants from the albums during live shows. I recommend a song from their newest album Window Of The Waking Mind from the album of the same name. Beautiful song about parenthood and the love and uncertainty that comes with it.
To clarify the psychotic lyrics. The singer, Claudio, filters his own life and emotions thru his sci-fi story lyrics. During this time in the early 2000s, his girlfriend had just broken up with him. So a young Claudio wrote the third album as one of the hardest breakup albums ever conceived, it also just happens to be one of the best guitar albums as well, I highly recommend a full album listen, the Coheed fanbase loves that stuff. He did reconnect with this girlfriend, they have been married for many years now and are parents. The later albums represent this and hit very hard if you are a parent yourself. The band is from Nyack, NY. Claudio is the master of what is called the dipthong. It's the way he stretches words to make them fit what he wants.
Funnily enough, this song (and album) was directed towards an ex-lover (also obviously couched in the overarching Coheed story). They eventually reconciled and are married. I was at this show, as was his now wife the album was based around. Just funny to hear the anger directed towards someone who was in the audience for the show.
Been my favorite band for over 20 years. Seen them live like 8 times, best concerts I've ever been to. They're mostly a progressive-rock band but they came up in the emo/post-hardcore scene, there's a lot of crossover. They've toured with emo bands, pop-punk bands, post-hardcore bands, metal bands, all sorts of stuff. Really well respected. Generally on an album you're gonna get a split between more proggy intricate songs and more poppy songs. Also all the albums (minus Color Before The Sun) are a sci-fi story the lead singer has created, which you don't really need to follow anyway to vibe with their stuff. Oh and I guess I'll throw in a non-Coheed recommendation, listen to Four Winds by Bright Eyes, it one of my favorite songs of all time. ruclips.net/video/FQw6kEv80X0/видео.html
welcome to ‘The Fence’ my man 🤘🏻🔥🍻 take the dive, such a diverse & eclectic discography that’s goin 20+ years strong. Claudio has made a graphic novel that goes along with the albums. going to see them for my 10th time in August, their live shows are incredible. check out ‘Comatose’ or ‘A Disappearing Act’ for more pop-y vibes, & ‘The Dark Sentencer’ & ‘The Gutter’ for more of the progressive side 🫡 and check out the studio versions, they are much better quality
He does seem to have...anger issues, yeah. :) This was also my intro to them. Never heard of them and they've been around for almost 30 years. Wow. Good stuff.
This was a particularly dark time lol. His girlfriend at the time cheated on him while on tour I believe. So when writing this album he felt a lot of betrayal. But they got past it and are married now. The newest album and story arc is about parenthood and is much much less angry lol.

Coheed! 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰 Claudio is such an amazing guitarist and vocalist. I've been a fan for years. Played this song on Rock Band all the time.

Check out the comic books called The Amory Wars. It will help tie together what he is singing about.
The Coheed albums are each a story in a series that also got a graphic novel to tell the story. It was Emo Star Wars...lol

Also, the band is from NY.
They're from NY but not NYC kinda like north NJ area. They are maybe one of the greatest bands that ever existed.
CAM-bree-ah.

Claudio is very sick during this performance and still makes it sound great. Definitely not his 100% though.
