For a little extra context on this one, Ariel's section was specifically in regard to the Deepwater Horizon spill in which an oil well owned by BP in the Gulf of Mexico exploded in April 2010, took until September that year to be plugged, and was found to still be leaking in January 2013.
Gosh this was brilliant! So PAINT (real name Jon Cozart) has done three of these. This was the first (11 and a half years ago), the second was in 2014 and the third was in 2018. He has also done a lot of very funny other parodies that are more "political" in nature as well as a series of "X show in 99 seconds". Jon is a complete SAVAGE and takes absolutely no prisoners. He's incredible! Thank you Timelord for getting this in front of DJ! I'm so so glad that he gets to listen to something like this...it's PERFECT! Thank you DJ for this reaction. Honestly, his humour still hits my funny bone even after watching this many years ago!

oh I remember bus rides with my friends after basketball games in high school doing a full reenactment with the a capella "instrumentals" and backup vocals and everything, we did full performances of these it was incredible

IIRC, he showed the original video to his sister who gave him the idea to make them different colours (the original was just the same colour for all four Jon’s (his name is Jon Cozart) and he went and re-recorded it in about an hour. Paint and Thomas sanders also did a video ‘Vine vs RUclips’ vine was the TikTok of its time. Also the RUclips cult, which is paint and a bunch of other popular RUclipsrs at the time
If you're interested, there is a fantastic book by Jared Diamond called Guns, Germs & Steel that is pretty much like the Pocahontas section. I highly recommend it.
I'm not Chinese, but I am Asian, so I felt like saying that, as an Asian, 'Chinamen' doesn't strike me as racist. There are actual slurs out there, and that isn't one of them. I actually think it's sort of accidentally clever; I know a little Mandarin, and add '-men' to the end of a term of address makes it plural. Humerous accidental Chinglish seems less aggressive to me than if Paint had said something like "the Chinese" as he had for the Japanese part. As for the Japanese part . . . well, they're historically known for copious amounts of whaling to the point where whales in general are now protected by law (if I'm not mistaken), so. . . . Where's the lie, y'know?
