I still use cherry to this day I've used cherry snaps and screw ins idc what people tell me I go by my feel and sound and I love them there are hype trains when soemthing new comes out and once 1 has an issue with a stab bam everyoen supposedly does and then there shit yet durrock stabs the bar keeps popping out on people dotn see the sights telling you that like they did with the gmk do you lol it's weird but yeah cherry and gmk to me have this sound others dont and cherry is still my favorite cherry housings have a sound with the stabs that others just dont there is a pop to them and depth now c3 are great also I think any stab can be made to sound and feel good sometiems it just takes work always get some for yourself then try never let someone's opinion effect what you like if you like what you feel and hear stick to it
I would never underestimate products coming from Germany, especially knowing (throught an LTT video where they go throught cherrys factory) that they do extensive testing on their stuff. I am a little disappointed that I didn't go with cherrys tho :( My spacebar still rattles abit even after doing the holee mod and lubing it.
I'm really surprised that the KBDfans screw in actually sounded better than the GMK screw ins when stock! However after lubeing them both it seems the GMK screw in had just slightly less wire rattle on the left side stab of the spacebar. My personal belief is that this rattle could be random and might be due to the inconsistent stem quality of the KBDfans screw ins. Like maybe someone could have a set of KBD screw ins with perfectly no rattle after lubing, and another set could still have the rattle.
My Cherry snap ins are flawless. Can't see any reason to move from them to one of these overpriced boutique stabs aside from aesthetics at the expense of performance/function.
I had footage of the underside of the PCB showing that there was a lot of Bumpons underneath to make sure the PCB doesn't hit the table, I just didnt include it because i felt the video was getting to long. Same reason I didn't include the clip of me lubing the stab pieces one by one. (The instance at 12:42 was me just trying to quickly fix the sound). Thanks for the feedback I'll keep it in mind for the future
@@idyllicKeyboards Maybe a little more lube? I know pretooled gmk sounds better than that! And I might be wrong but I think i can hear the pcb still hitting the table? good video nevertheless
To me the cherry snap ins are still lt go to I absolutely love thema nd the sound I've never used anything else of course I have like 40 sets from before the retooling idk man I donf need anymore metal added to my stabs and ues it does slightly change the sound to me the cherry snap ins have the deepest sound aee even in your test the screw ins had a higher pitch and yea actually had more rattle that thing that's said about snap ins are def wrong I knew from the start a was the cherry snaps and it just shows what I've been saying is correct
I feel like the PCB just sitting loosely on a hard table had a huge impact on the sound. I think a more realistic/accurate test would have been testing the sound in a fully put together keyboard with and without a desk mat underneath. Other than that it was a decent video but yeah I think the sounds aren’t really indicative of what they would really sound like in real-world use cases.
Can you install mount stabilizers ( the one which you can just stick it directly onto the plate ) even after you solder? Or do you need to install it first then solder the keyboard
Anything durock related are great plate mount choices. I used cherry, durock, and several third party plate mounts and can say durocks make a huge difference
Gmk makes the cherry stabs so gmk is cherry with stabs gmk is just what people say for screw ins and cherry is what people say for snap ins there both cherry stabs
Can you use a cherry screw-in stab wire on a durock v2 housing? I think I bought the wrong size for my board, which comes with a cherry (kbdfans d60). It looks like a 7u spacebar but the description implies that it uses a 6.25u stabilizer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hi, if my top plate is not a stab-mounted plate AND my pcb has not holes to mount stabs either, is it possible to super glue my stabs onto the pcb? If yes, which stabs do you think would be good? Thanks!
If you like desoldering your entire keyboard because the stab falls out then the kbdfans stabs are for you! Purchased them and it is my life’s greatest regret. 😂😭😭
would zealpc stabs work with the gk61 pcb with the kbd fans plate starting my first custom and wanna get out any compatability issues any help is appreciated
You got me at the C stabs lol
I was like “whoa”, then “Bruh”
Very few reliable sources of information about stabilizers. I'm glad I found this video. Very comprehensive. I appreciate you making it.
I'm shocked at how good the cherry snap in stabs sound.

Great video. During the blurry part of the video I was like damn those C stabs sound the best. Then I see what it was. :-(
It seems like we have been bamboozled
Lol yes
I had the incorrect impression that GMK and Cherry stabs were basically equivalent - thanks for clearing that up!

Excellent comparison. I had an issue with the kbdfans inserts which were to bit and kept stuck in a ePbt key....
Damn dude I love your editing. Very informative and helpful. Really appreciate it! Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much! These have been so helpful and we appreciate the great effort you put in these videos! Godbless
dude your channel is underrated :o Nice vids, goood comparions.

Nice macro photos, thank you.
Nice video and very informative! One note: it would help a lot if you could label which one is which in the video ;)
dude when the video played the audio scared the shit out of me i thought someone was literally right next to me
Ortholinear keyboards: I have no such weaknesses
Need to do a video like this but for only plate mount stabs.
My Cherry snap ins are flawless. Can't see any reason to move from them to one of these overpriced boutique stabs aside from aesthetics at the expense of performance/function.
how do you install clip-in stabs to a screw-in pcb, for example, i want to install tx clip-in stabs into the kbdfans tofu60 dz60rgb.
Terrific video. Subbed.
Nice video. Would have been better if you lubed the stabs properly and held the pcb down to stop it from hitting the table when pressing a key.

since this video, a couple new plate mount stabs have been released (gaterons, everglide and durocks), it'll be great to have everyone's thoughts

hey man any chance you could sell me 2x cherry snap ins? been looking for pre-retooled ones
I'm buying a keyboard off KBDFANS but they only have Cherry MX stabs not GMK, how are the cherry's
Pretty good
great detailed video.
Why are the screw ins preferred when the cherrys (A) clearly sounded the best? Much better than the GMK's (B)
(Caveat, I have crap headphones on right now.. but they sounded the best from what I could hear)
@@GeorgeLCostnza you’re right idk
Using Costar stabilizer would had solved all these issues, LOL.
6:53 you meant the kbdfans ones?

c sounded the best lol
Is there any chance to get a clip in stab in high quality? Unfortunately my pcb dont has screw holes
Can you install mount stabilizers ( the one which you can just stick it directly onto the plate ) even after you solder?
Or do you need to install it first then solder the keyboard
u have to insert it before soldering , the switch will be in the way for the wire
is it possible to use this on a royal kludge 61?
Does the kbdfans screw in stabs come preclipped or we have to clip it first?
Great vid m8

so which one is "genuine" ?
Cherry and GMK ?
Gmk makes the cherry stabs so gmk is cherry with stabs gmk is just what people say for screw ins and cherry is what people say for snap ins there both cherry stabs
Can I replace clip on stabs with screw on stabs on a pre built keyboard? Like keychron?
you should be able to as long as the screw fits

nice comparison but please get a better mic

no, no mate :)

No stab sounds the best
Best out of what is there
delicious(good). Finally some good fcking food (video).
guess im going no stabs
were the clear ones, Zeals?
no they're the clear kbdfans clip in variant, however I will be comparing Zeals to Everglides very soon
