    3:01 why I don't like tx ap

12:26 how to properly seat a keycap
    13:12 sound test 7u
    13:27 long pole switches
    Directions:
    - Medium layer of lube for the stab housing
    - Put a lot of lube where the wire clips into the housing
    - Medium layer of lube for the stem
    - Medium-heavy layer in the stem hole (do not use dielectric grease)
    - Balance your wires (ticking side should be twisted away from you)
    - Heavy layer of lube on the wires, extending a little past the bend (do not use dielectric grease)
    - Make sure you seat your keycap properly
What to do if your stabs tick:
    - Check if keycap is warped
    - Check if switch is loose
    - Properly seat your keycap
    - Clean the top out area of your switch
    - Lube the contact leaves and springs of the switch
    - Use a different switch
    - Check if your switch sits flush on the pcb (if using pe foam, remove it)
    - Put more lube inside the stem hole
    - Rebalance wires (not properly bracing the wire when inserting can unbalance them, and taking off the keycap by pulling on one side only can also unbalance the wire)
    - DO NOT USE MILLMAX (millmax can cause many many stab problems)
What to do if your stabs rattle:
    - Check if keycap is warped
    - Check if switch is loose
    - Properly seat your keycap
    - Lube your switch top housing (do not lube the top out area)
    - Film your switch
    - Use a different switch (nixie spacebar sucks imo)
    - Put more lube in the area where the wire clips in to the housing
    My stab ranking:
    1. Genuine Cherry Clip-ins (needs new wires)
    2. TX AP rev.4 (must sand the stem, weak spacebar)
    3. WS Stupid Stabs in Cherry Clip-in Housing (fixed compatibility issues, spacebar still sounds like dogshit)
    4. Staebies (must trim off the housing rails, but great choice for spacebar)
    5. WS Stupid Stabs (not compatible with some plates, spacebar sounds like dogshit)

This video has an excellent description of properly seating keycaps on stabilizers. This is something that I rarely see people mention in their guides and I'm really happy to see it here because it can have a huge impact on your stabs and it can get your 5-sided dyesub caps working if they're warped. I have some things I disagree with, but it's just because I have different preferences with my stab tuning (I prefer the stab to bottom out, so I clip my cherry differently. I also have a very different lube method that I like).
I'm really glad this video exists and I'll be pointing people here.

this is very in-depth in terms of tuning stabs, I wouldn't even notice how my stabs would sound like before I watched your video

I used to spend multiple days on my stabs days! I swear! I convinced my self it was the worst thing about this hobby and litteraly made me give up on my passion but I found that it’s not that hard. Your video is amazing

Big W video, probably one of the best stab guides I have seen on youtube - going to start implementing some of these little tweaks for all my future boards.

Are the tx ap stabs you are using in your demo the regular ones? Or are they long pole ?

that's a comment he has to answer and I think that's why he has an issue with TX AP stabs because no-one else is complaining

@@Hemi790 yea I tried looking but this is pretty much the only video/discussion about tx ap having this specific issue he was talking about. I personally have issues with tx ap but not for the same reasons he’s stated.

@@mattheww6139 I did my own testing and I think the video is right. TX stab stems seem to be longer than usual even the regular pole ones...shit I might have to go back to using durocks lmao I've used up all my c3 stabs

I’ve used TX ap regular length and I’m not a fan of them either. There’s no rattle and the wires are very straight, but the do bottom out like in the vid and adds noise to the stabilizer. It’s not necessarily a bad sound but imo I prefer stabs that don’t add additional noise.

Very great tutorial, though the TX AP stabs you got should be the long pole version. I have normal HG cherry mx switches with tx stabs and i do not have the problem of the stabs bottiming out before the switch at all.

2:45 is so real. i hate when stabs are too tight. sure, it's easier to make them not rattle and ticking, but losing out top out sound just makes it sound weird

You mentioned that the orientation of how you tune the wires matter, after you tune the wires on a flat surface, does it face down and go into the stab or face up?

Great video! If you don't mind a bit of feedback, your voice was really quiet during the video. I think both increasing voice volume but also actually raising your voice into the mic would really help. But I learned a lot, thank you!

*over-complicates the lube, then ends up having to add more using the syringe like he should have done to begin with*
*didn't even put the keycaps on right*
