Thank you appreciate it!!!! Can’t wait to film and make more rc videos this was so much fun!!!
Just got one and have only been able to drive it a couple of times so can’t get a review. But so far I am very impressed. Love the way it turns. Never had one of these short course vehicles. Even the servo is pretty good for the stock one. I do agree that it loves to pick up leaves and such. I am driving on 4S because I really am not into trashing my cars.
There really is no reason to hate this RC car. Traxxas haters just love to hate, and crawl out of the woodwork every time someone says anything positive about them. Truth is, I’ve seen this Maxx slash reviewed on dozens of channels on here, even Kevin Talbot. And they drive and bash the daylights out of it and it takes so much abuse. Personally it’s not for me, just a preference thing. I like the monster truck and stadium truck platforms better. But this thing is a tank, and one of the best, most durable bashers on the market.
I agree. People just love to hate on Traxxas. They do a lot of good things but like any company they are not perfect. This truck is awesome super tough and fast! But I do agree with you. It can’t do monster truck things very well. The Maxx would have definitely had a much better time driving in the wet muddy grass. I am getting an xmaxx next week and am looking forward to do monster truck things with it!
@ Awesome. Sounds like you’ll be having a lot of fun next week. 🍻
One of my dream RCs. I think it gets hate because it doesn't handle as well as some of its competitors, but it seems to be plenty of fun and extremely durable. Im a huge fan of larger short course trucks like the Arrma Mojaves and stuff. I gotta add this one to the collection
It is so much fun! Once I did the shock modification and sway bar it seems to handle quite well. The under steering in the mud was mainly due to it being so full of mud and the tires being somewhat bald. Do you own a Mojave? I myself have never driven one but I’ve heard great stuff about them.
@pablosgarage707 I have every Arrma Short Course Truck ever made! The Mojave 4S handles the best, jumps, and is the most durable of all of them. The 6S is brutal and aggressive, but doesn't handle as well or take as much punishment. The Maxx Slash fits right in between. From what I've seen, the Maxx Slash is just as tough as the Mojave 4S, with not quite as good handling, but 6S power. So I'm definitely interested in getting one soon
@@K5_RC That 4s Mojave better handle like a F1 car! My Maxx Slash handles extremely well.. Plans to get a Mojave 6s soon to see for myself. So far, the internet and the things I've seen regarding the Maxx V2, UDR and the Maxx Slash have all been a majority of Bovine Feces... :)
Thinking of buying one for my 12 yr son. He watches your channel too! Thinking of getting him the traxxas mini slash for his birthday since Christmas just passed!
Highly recommend! The mini slash is cool. However it is limited on areas where it can be ran in. Either way he will definitely enjoy a mini slash or a Maxx slash or even the standard slash is a good option
Next to piner high school where theres a skatepark there are over 6ft tall ramps behind the skatepark in the woods its great for rc's
That spot is amazing. I’ll be filming there soon! I actually want to set up a bash day and get a couple of people out and we just send it!
Love my Maxx Slash, just got into pro buggies, and still not getting rid of mine!
Awesome! What kind of buddy do you own? I’ve always been a fan of buggies however we lack a nice track in my area.
@@pablosgarage707 I have a Mugen MBX8, and we have a few decent tracks here in the Central Texas area.
Make sure you keep all those RC car batteries in a shed away from the house. It's a fire Hazzard.
Another tech had some of these batteries catch his house on fire. Minimal damage it seemed, until you look at the smoke damage. Plus the fire department cut a hole in the roof to put it out! Lot of water damage. Took a year to repair.
Oh yes. We had that happen to my buddy. We luckily caught it in time. I posted the short video on my channel. The security cam caught the fire. It was insane lol.
@@pablosgarage707it should be fine if they are in storage charge level right?😊
Get the scorched parts inner fender it does great keeping all the grass and crap out..thank me later...it really works
IN MICHIGAN WE CALL THAT STRAW !!!!!!!
lol. Definitely is straw
I own one and my main issue and why i waited for it to go on sale is: all the things that come standard on cars of this price are add ons that are nickel and dimed. Plastic hexes? No sway bars, plastic shock caps. I still haven't run it because I'm still waiting for all the "upgrade" parts come in. I'm pretty close to what it would cost MSRP with what I've wanted to get to make it the same level as my Mojave. That's my personal take.
I agree. It would be nice to see them with proper suspension parts installed straight out of the box especially for the price they charge. The plastic hex’s, shock caps and no sway bars definitely is a bummer. Also I wish it came with the machined metal spur gear. The cheap cast metal ones are no good. I have not driven a Mojave yet. How do they drive? I’ve heard lots of great things about them.
@@pablosgarage707 in my opinion they're some of the best handling rcs of this type. It's what I compare all other sct's/trophy trucks/desert trucks to. I have the exb one, so it's very durable.
I got the Maxx slash so my wife had something to drive with me.
I just got mine and I ordered the sway bar but haven’t gotten it yet. You really don’t need the sway bar to drive it. In fact if I was you I would at least run it before you do all those upgrades. I am probably going to put sway bar on but am gonna run it a bit without it. Also one thing I like is the servo seems pretty good. Not sure if it’s gonna last or not but it is faster than the one I got on the Maxx, Sledge, or Stampede. I upgraded all of them. The Sledge for sure needed the upgrade. I was probably in your camp think it needed all these upgrades before running it but then again I am only going to run it on 4S so I don’t destroy it.
@gutenbird I understand what you mean but I already own a Maxx so I know how it handles and what I want and expect it to handle like. In my opinion you can get away with no sway bars on a monster truck but not so much on a short course.
As for the servo, it's trash, it's slow and has plastic gears, more power to you if you want to run it. I've been in the hobby long enough to know what I like and how I like things to handle. I appreciate your opinion but I got it.
I have a Traxxas Slasher. Doing the same spin outs and slides like in your video. Trashed my drive gear.
Oh man. I did the same ended up upgrading to the machined metal gears. So far so good 🙏
Huge fan of the tool side a welder/maintenance man myself what kinda car should I look at for starting out an arms Mojave gromm??
I would definitely start off with a Mojave Grom, but get the BLX version. It will do 50 miles an hour. It has stability built-in with the Gyro system. It is tough as nails. I made a video comparing it to the Traxxas mini max, and we were beating the crap out of it, and it took a while, but it eventually broke a seven dollar part Overall a great truck to start off with.
Is the truck bad? No, of course not Traxxas doesnt typically release flops.
The problem is its MSRP is $700 and theres just better options for a 6s Stadium Truck at that price point.
Thats where it gets its criticism.
Though currently im seeing it at about $550 which is more inline for what youre getting.
I agree with you 100 percent! 700$ is just way to much. At the 550 sale price I’d say it would be a good price. I did buy mine when they had a special free batteries and charger included.
