This was my favourite cartoon growing up. I loved the show and the theme music so much that I treated myself to the remastered DVD box set a few years ago. Cost me £30!!!! The pennies were totally worth it though

On tv when children’s BBC was all about Phillip Scofield, Andy Peters and Andy Crane presenting cult classics, such as this, from inside a broom cupboard with G the gopher! Unbeatable!
Loved it in the 80’s and love it more now!
The best part about this song is the barking. It's been about 30 years since I first saw this cartoon, I still find myself barking the theme song once in a while. lol

being a teenager in the 80s used to watch this. quite a catchy tune, also like mask, cops, centurions and he-man, and many more best cartoon era
Cops was awesome! Being a kid at the time I could never figure out why Mr. Meaner was a woman then I got older and realized it was Miss Demeanor!

Show was 20 mins long... 10 mins intro song, 5 mins recapping previous episodes, 1 min of weird, new facial expressions, 4 mins end theme.
A bit like Rocket Robin Hood in that respect!

1) still sounds like they're singing "kids are pretty corny" (thanks to the children ITV presenter who pointed that out way back in 198thing)
2) never noticed how much the lyrics are a celebration of drinking, fighting & having a sing-song.

I did start the second hour of a radio show with this - I regularly slipped things like this in at the start of hour 2 - I referred to it as our moments of Zen. This and postman pat were the most popular!!

My First Daughter would calm down and go to sleep when this song was played, she was 4 or 5 months old (about 1994) at the time, she will be 26 years old this December, and it still stops her in her tracks when she hears it. She even borrowed my last cd with it on, and she's not returned it, lol. (I wonder why)?
