Wow. Yes you make it look so easy. I didn't know that you worked the 2 colour from one side then turn. I've just learnt something new. Thankyou

It definitely takes some practice, but once you have the technique down, it's pretty easy, since it's always a dc and chain 1 every stitch ..just gotta make sure to pay attention to whether it's the front or back stitch. :)

@@jennypedlow7906 If you're really interested in this technique, in particular, there's a Facebook group where you can get more info, etc. I don't run the group, but if I remember correctly it's 'interlocking crochet world'

It was very nice to see the charts even though there’s one page for the front and one page for the back, it just kind of takes the mystery out of the charts!! Lol 👍🏼😁🤣😂

Ok, so I have now seen 3 totally different ways of starting an interlocking crochet project and it's starting to annoy me. I have seen it started with 2 seperate meshes that you then attach together, then your way, then one where they threaded a chain of colour B through the starting mesh of colour A and then crocheted from there. I have also seen patterns that have completely different terminology that doesn't relate to other patterns in the same style of crochet. This style of crochet is confusing enough without everyone seeming to have their own way of doing it, I just want to know the real way...

Funny you should mention that! I'm currently planning a series of videos on the different ways you can start an interlocking project that will hopefully clarify things. There are some strong personalities in the interlocking design world, and some of them have tried to say their terms and definitions are trademarked or copywrited, which makes it really hard to have a uniform nomenclature!

As far as the "real way"
..the frustrating and wonderful thing about interlocking is that there is no one right way. As long as it's an interwoven pattern of two or more meshes, it can be called interlocking. Those could be meshes made of different stitches, made in different shapes, and made in completely different ways, which adds to the tremendous variety of patterns available. The "standard" interlocking is a mesh of double crochet separated by chain 1 sts, but, as you've noticed, there are a lot of ways of naming the stitches and starting the projects.
