    They have the cutest shy personality I've seen. it's also amazing how though smallest out of the many south American. They hold their ground very well helping somehow balance the aggression.

      Planning on the same thing here, have all about 1-1.5 inch acara, peacocks, and jewel cichlids together. Even have tetra with them in a 30 gallon. They’re all babies so I’m assuming that’s why I’m getting away with it I hope the jewels play nice for some reason. 2 jewels and 4 EBAs, hoping the blues keep the peace in the tank aka the jewels off the tetra lol. They don’t bother a soul I’d be confident with full grown blues with tetra

    What the smallest fish you would keep with the electric blue acara. I have a community tank with Mollies and I have been researching these fish for the past week because my local petstore just got some babies and I want to get one.

    • @jimlewis2428
      @jimlewis2428 3 года назад

      An acara of reasonable size will definetly prey on mollies. I used to breed black mollies as feeder fish and you would be surprised how quickly a 5in acara will eat a handful of mollies. They mostly hunt at night, so you will notice the numbers drop overnight.

      @@dramaticexperiment144 I keep 2 electric blue acaras at 4-5in with 6 polar blue convict parrots at 3-4in, they do wonderful together. Waiting until 2 of the parrots to pair off to mate and then they will be moved. Goodluck brother.

      Does this happen fairly soon after you get them from the pet store? If so it sounds like ich. If you have a quarantine tank set up I recommend keeping them in there for at least 2 weeks but a month would be best. If the fish looks healthy your good to go, but if the white spots show up add 1 table spoon of aquarium salt per every 2 gallons of water and run your tank temperature at about 80°. Bare bottom quarantine tank and 50% water changes every other to every third day and it should clear up quickly.

      Man that sucks. I had one and it got injured about a month after I got it and ended up and died... It was kind of pricy for what I normally pay for cichlids so I didn't get another one. For me it was rams though I tried to keep them and kept failing.
