I'm following a few of these cut vlogs. Most of the other vloggers talks about things to come and later on shows just a glimps of whats nice to see. You do it the other way around, talking while showing, which I find very nice. :))
Seriously this channel was my first vlog experience of narrowboats and I thought everyone else was doing it more or less the same way. Then I watched a few other channels and was surprised as quite frankly most were super boring. Cruising The Cut is by far the most polished of them all, while being 100% authentic at the same time (meaning no sponsors or incessant babbling).

Of all the river scenery I have seen from you and other narrow boaters, the views you had of the river Trent are the most inviting, especially in the fall colors. Thank you!

I had been comparing them to our experience here in the states as we tootled around all the lower 48 and much of Canada towing our Casita camper. Thanks David, for another trip down memory lane (river). As a 14 year old, I used to camp in the back of the lock keepers garden and in way of saying thanks, we used to help working the locks. This was at Gunthorpe lock, way back in 1957. If memory serves me correct, the gates were operated by a large wheel with a handle. Great memories as well down at Hazelford lock. There's a great pub, The Hazelford Ferry, with lovely food. Thanks again, Barrie.
OMG, if all those geese took flight at one time, look out below!!!!!!! You are certainly a speed demon in this week's episode David. The countryside is just so beautiful.

When it happens the second time it’s quite a relief. It always seems ironic that there are paid lock-keepers for the locks where you'd just have to press a couple of buttons, and not for the ones where you have to do physical work.
Aren't the paid lock keepers on the big canals and rivers where there's commercial shipping? If someone is moving hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of goods through a lock, they're going to demand trained operators and well maintained machinery.
I love the river cruise.. absolutely beautiful boats everywhere.. cruising at 6 knots was cool the wake on the front of your narrow boat sliceing down the river was amazing.. Definitely need more of that! Cheers David..
I looked into that but unfortunately the narrowboat environment - with ducks quacking, boats going past etc - is not suitable for Audible's recording standards, unsurprisngly!!
