I would say jealousy
The hate the fact that you do everything in your power to live an authentic life, go about things the proper way while acknowledging your own limitations yet they dance over both sides of the law and ethics and are surprised when they get caught in their own b.s.
They hate to see you content with your life because they aren't content with your own so they ruin everything for you for their own pleasure.
I believe “jealousy” is the worst and most dangerous emotion

Learning more about narcs, it's a bit much to call it hate and anger. That kind of talk definitely doesn't help people trying to cope, recover, and heal. They're a tornado that hit people's lives and just like one hitting our house, we wouldn't go chasing it down for an apology. Tornado's happen and even when they're unexpected, they happen. Too many emotional labels get attached when we talk about their actions and motivations. Those are our biases talking. As much as we say don' take it personal, we have to call their actions something. We end up here with those closest interpretations of anger, hate, malice, etc.
If we understand them like water is wet, they are the way they are, why get into their emotional state and motives? They're survival instincts/traits with a will of their own. If they're incapable of things like compassion or empathy at any willful level, then do they even understand those lower emotions they're feeling, if they're feeling at all since that's the thing they cannot do. They're like AI executing functions, errors manifest as mild to wild tantrums or anger. I don't say this to excuse anything, currently watching a covert narc in my life deteriorate.

Simple: They see something in you that the don't have and likely never will.
Consequently, they want to either destroy it or control it for their selfish purpose.
They hate you for the things they "loved" you for.

I had a workplace bully. For years. Mind you, I decided that I was going to quit soon because I wanted to move out of state. One day, this bulky said to me "I'm going to get you fired". I told her "good! Then you can have my job"! She turned the situation around and tried to make it funny. "No way"! My last couple of weeks there were then peaceful.

I've dealt with most of this stuff. There is no winning. And when I finally stood my ground and wouldn't be controlled anymore, she left me.

I believe they truly hate you because you are everything they wish they could be and lots of them resent you for actually needing you.
I experienced the shift when I refused to let a coworker blackmail me for money. Can you do more on how they’re the strongest right before they give up? Because I feel like there’s a small percentage of the time where the person doesn’t give up. I see the true crime about how people will do terrible things for revenge when they feel a narcissist injury and even murder! How do you know and protect yourself? How do you know when it really is dangerous and time to leave? I guess it boils down to gut instinct sometimes. But the narcissist really attacks the gut instinct with gaslighting.

I was fired "parted ways" with my former job. I saw the red flags the 1st month being there
Fast forward 2 yrs later, I was terminated. I didn't quit B4 because I knew the company had to either pay me every 2 weeks or by unemployment! I have peace that I'm away from the toxic environment.

When narcissists get mad at me, I take it as a compliment. I know they’re angry just because I won’t let them manipulate and control me.
I had a friend who, whenever I asked how she was, she would always say good. One day, I said man you always say you're good. I had a dream she was wearing a mask to make me believe what she was saying but in reality she is old and struggling.

I don't care why she attached herself to me. I don't need to be extra special. I was fooled and then i saw through the mask and i asserted a boundary. I'm autonomous and that drives her absolutely nuts. Relentless passive aggressive manipulation for years, and this was a casual friendship. I maintain boundaries and that's right, her problem is I won't submit.

I wondered why an ex-narc of mine wanted my deceased mother's expired licence. He said he wanted a picture of my mother. I told him I have a stack of pics of my mom that were much better than a driver's licence photo. He had nothing to say after that.

How do I get that
My daughter in law holds her children (grandchildren) away from me. She won't let the grandchildren come over, I have to go to their house only... Now she doesn't let them call us. Its my job to make the time for them. Its her punishment to me. She knows how much my family means to me. She was my friend for over 10 years, once she hooked my son, its all my fault.
Make sure you are giving your son and his wife their boudaries and not interfering with everything they do as a family.. husband and wife become one flesh once they get married … and make up their own family apart from the one they came from.. no daughter in law wouldn’t let her children see their grandmother or be around her for too long, if the grandma is normal and an empath and not actual narcissistic.. so check within and see where things went working on your end.. and not just blame the daughter in law.. there must be a valid reason why she is the way she is with you. (This is coming from a daughter in law of a full blown narcissist mother in law.)..
@@parinazaz4044 My daughter in law is narcissistic. I understand the "own family" thing. Since my daughter in law married my oldest son, she has targeted family members then blame my husband and I. Ever her mother says she is narcissistic.

I when out with this woman on a business meeting, l paid for the dinner it was About $60.00 dollars, l handed the waitress a 100 dollar bill. And this woman told her to keep the change, l look at her and said no. Then a few days later she ask me with a blessing it would be if l remove and replace her entire roof. The reward that God would give me in return. I responded then you do it. Then a few weeks later l told her a secret and she told that person what l said to be true. Then the final one, was when she told me… that l was the one with the problems since l have very little friends 😂 your thoughts ❤
