The real reason Negan killed Spencer was because The Latter beat Him in pool, if you look closely, Negan has a disappointed look on His face when He accidentally gets the white ball in, He couldn't accept losing to Spencer
Ngl I actually liked and feel for Spencer... Everyone’s always in the protagonists head and never thinks about the other characters for even a second... Think about this. Some hairy guy and his group show up in your well off and fairly good community. Him and his group start causing problems in various ways ranging from rule breaking to actual fights and disorder. Then this guy tells you all suck and that you aren’t survivors and that he knows what’s best for you (Despite you ALL having survived in the apocalypse for the same amount of time) Then out of nowhere some raiders show up... kill a dozen of your community... you lose your father, mother and brother almost instantly and now you have to follow and be the bottom witch for the same guy who in your mind caused all this and truthfully he kinda did to varying degrees... Especially with provoking Negan whom you now have to serve as a slave... Say whatever you want about “it would happen eventually” or “They didn’t go through the exact same things”... Facts are this guy had a beautiful and nice home one moment and now after this guy shows up he loses his entire family, his position in the society and now has to serve a crazed warlord whom Rick promised he wouldn’t allow it to happen. He’s honestly justified and I feel bad for the guy...
If rick and the other survivors weren't there, the raiders would have killed them all and moved in. Plain and simple fact. They were soft behind their walls. Remember, they were out welcoming other survivors that could have easily overtaken them if they wanted to. And in the new world, life isn't fair and those in the upper crust of families in charge have a way of finding themselves at the bottom easily. That's life with no rules, laws, order, and anyone to enforce anything but strength over weakness. Can't hide behind walls forever. Imagine if the governor found that place.

Negan honestly should have listened to Spencer. While Rick was a valuable asset, he was far more likely to rebel than Spencer and MUCH more dangerous. Would have worked out well if Machone didn't talk Rick into fighting back. She never could have talked Spencer into doing so.
Nah. Negan knew exactly where rick stood and knew that over time he would plot against him, but do it with balls. Spencer was a coward and got what he deserved. Now if spencer would have brought all this up to ricks face in front of negan, could have been a different story. At least he would have shown negan he wasn't afraid of rick, and he wasn't going behind ricks back. Like an open challenge to be chief/leader/whatever.
