Hi Lisa, thanks for your channel! I am so frustrated with my rope jumping. I am an avid runner, ran a half marathon last weekend at good pace, fairly fit...but when I jump rope I'm panting like a Texas hound in 4 minutes! lol Respect for the cardio that jumping provides. I ordered the 1/4 pound Hereope that you use in this video and you've reviewed, so I'm going ti try it again. Inspired by you. Wish me luck! Burps in Illinois.
i don’t think I ever did calibrate my watch! Haha. Maybe I did at one time and forgot, but this is at least my third watch and I know I haven’t done this one. Thank you. I’ll do that. I’m not on Strava. I’ll check that out, too. I’m excited to know how you progress in your jumping. Of course you know that the Hererops will be intense. What kind of rope are you currently using?. Please keep me posted on your progress.
Hello! I also used to run a lot. I was a. good runner, and fast, but started getting plantar fasciitis really bad. Jumping rope helped me with that, so I got hooked on it. I think you’ll notice as you jump more and more that you’ll adjust to it and won’t get so winded (but it definitely keeps the cardio training up!). My next video will show a set of moves that help runners with our cardio and lung capacity and uses various ropes, too. I really like mixing up the weighted ropes. I think you’ll like the here ropes. Thanks for your comment. Keep going-you’re on the right track.
Thanks for your reply, Lisa, and sharing your running plight. PF is awful, I have a couple friends that also stopped running after getting it and tried every solution without success. I'll turn them on to your channel, and looking forward to that upcoming runner's jumprope video. One more question please...I saw on another video of yours that you use an Apple Watch; I do also. Is the Apple Workout app good for tracking jump roping workouts? I use it for running, and I like that it is linked to my #Strava account. I'd like to have my jump ripe workouts and progress on Apple Health and Strava to track progress.. What do you think? Thank you.
@@Burps___I use the Apple workouts app on my watch. Generally, I just use it to track my heart rate, which is usually pretty close. When I use it to run or walk, the distance is kind of close, but not precise. Since my heart rate is pretty low, it usually takes me over an hour to reach my goal, because it want to have it say I burned 400 exercise calories. I know I’m burning more than it says, even though my heart rate isn’t high, but it gives me a goal. I’m pretty driven with this type of thing, so idk if it’s a good thing or a bad thing haha.
@@lisadavisbodyconstruction Thanks for your reply, Lisa. That’s a good idea to use heart rate for jump roping. If Apple workouts gives HR, duration of activity, and calories, that should be good for me…I’ll give it a go as it’s already linked to my Strava (if you’re on Strava, I’d follow you just to see how jump rope works into your weekly fitness routine). On the walking and running with AW, did you calibrate your watch? I get the benefit of running with Garmin, Coros, Suunto watch wearers in my running club and we are in sync, off by less than 0.1 of a mile at a half marathon distance. I’ve found that the wrong settings on the watch force it to use pedometer metrics over GPS (the watch seemed to overestimate my distances, actually) until I calibrated it. There are videos on how to do that calibration, but perhaps that’s not your issue. Thanks for all your teachings. My Herope arrives in two days. Yay!

@@lisadavisbodyconstruction Many YT videos on how to calibrate the AW, give it a try and see if the GPS paces and distances for your walks/hikes improve. I now use a no-name cord "whip" style rope. Silicone, no beads. It's fast, and maybe makes me go too fast and I burn out in 4 minutes lol. The Herope 1/4 pound is here, yay! Just like yours, lime color. I appreciate that you showed how to shorten it on your review video, and where you like yours set for you personally. I'll be careful not to cut too much. It'll be intense, but maybe it'll slow me down a bit. Thanks so much! Oh, #Strava btw is free (no need subscription plan) and links to your Apple Health Workouts and you could even post your videos there. I think 120 million athletes on there now, so it's getting big! Very motivating to follow people and I have literally met two of my best IRL running friends solely because of Strava. Will update my progress with this jump roping. You are an excellent jumper and obviously super fit...thanks for your videos, Lisa.
