Major Muscles Jump Rope and Weights Circuit Workout
This workout is great for working cardio with the jump rope, the chest (pecs), biceps, and even triceps) with a Bench Press, the legs (quads), and glutes with High Step-Ups, and the abs, back, and hip flexors with Jack Knifes.
I’ll show a few minutes of my jump rope warm-up with a split screen which will explain the moves and suggested number of reps. Then I will go through the workout in real time, so if you choose to work out with me, that portion will start at 5:37.
I’ll be using my 5mm PVC rope from Dope Ropes (links below for 20% off), 2 dumbbells (for me-25# each, but you use what will challenge you), a weight bench (you can use a step bench if you have one of those or a chair for th...

What I Eat in a Day as a 55 Year-Old Certified Personal Trainer
Did you just whip yourself? 😂
Yes. Yes, I did and it hurt a lot.
I want to say the 25 year old myself
😂😂😂
Haha the wizard behind the curtain 😂
Hey - The Sound of Music was recently on TV. Maybe do that one! 😂
Good idea!! I’m already thinking of moves. Haha
Amazing how exercise can boost our energy and mood!!
Yes! Thanks for the comment. I hope other people your comment and try it.
The 'mic release' and it's younger, spicier cousin 'the mamba'.
Love it! And I’ve never even thought of the mamba as his younger, spicier cousin!
Nice!
Thanks!
When I started this workout I felt exhausted and grumpy from a long day. But by the end I felt SO much better. Some days working out is just about the mental side!
I’d love to be able to boxer jump. I’ve been doing regular bounce for 10 months now. Can’t seem to get the hang of boxer jump.
Good move! I’ll share tips on that one, for sure!
Currently working on the “southpaw”. Double side swings are my favorite so far!
Noted! Thank you for the comment.
I’d like to learn the mic release 🫠
I’ll need to make a tutorial on that, too.
I’m always learning and practicing
Jump rope can go anywhere.
Cardio and weights do the trick to get you fit!
These workouts are intense!
I always do.
I’m tired, but I’m headed to the gym…
Don’t knock it til you try it
This method works for me every time.
I do this kind of thing most days and it’s made all the difference!
Practice makes you better.
Don’t put it off any longer!
Get some good tunes and jump for your workout.
So what’s your reason?? To keep posting videos?😊
I am hoping to reach people who think they’re too old to work out hard and get better results. So many people think that I’ve we get to “a certain age” we just let ourselves go. ❤
I currently jump rope at the same spot every week at my local park. This video reminded me that there are endless places where I can jump rope. I'm sure this will help with the feeling of monotony during my workouts (not that I ever get bored of skipping rope, but a change of scenery is fun & healthy)
I love it! I think it’s a great thing to overcome worrying what anyone else thinks in our quest to reach our fitness goals. I’ve seen too many people hold themselves back by worrying what others think.
I did a kickboxing circuit on the beach in Texas once. I’m sure that was quite the laugh for everyone else since it was probably my second time trying kickboxing.
Yes! Awesome! Whenever people scoff at anyone doing something like that, I notice it’s not someone who’s good at it. I’ve never seen a serious runner scoff at a new runner, for example and if it is, who cares? Good job!
Glad I found this highly underrated channel. Jump rope is my favorite exercise. Thank you for your insight, Lisa!
@@skybelowus_ you’re my people! Yay! I think there are few of us out there in the wild.
@@skybelowus_ and thank you for the kind words.
Awesome❤️🔥
Thanks for the kind word❤
Not worried about aging when my mom can do this ha
I have a video of a jump rope breaking mid jump on me 🤦🏽♀️ it’s not any professional jump rope but I’m looking forward to being good at it like you!
@@Crochetedbuddies that has to be a cool video! You’re on the right track-keep practicing and you’ll get there. I just use PVC ropes most of the time. (4 and 5 mm)
What’s sad is that the video was really bad quality bc it was on my brothers iPad lol
@ dang. I’ve had them break before, but not on camera. And not the ones I use, now. (Dope Ropes)
By none professional I mean it was a kids jump rope, my mom got it out of a mystery box, it’s a light up one lol
@ even more fun! Haha
Love this!
Gracias
How would you compare this to the 1/4 pound Crossrope?
@@djtruedomination I find them quite similar. I do think the Crossrope is a higher quality, but not length-adjustable, so I have to tie knots in the Crossrope. Also, the much-higher cost of the Crossrope is a factor. As for usage, I don’t see much difference at all. They feel the same.
@ I’m thinking about getting it. But I have been trying other high quality ropes since the Hererope and Crossropes are so similar, but I’m still interested in the crossrope. And being that you can’t adjust the rope bothers me. I can go by the height chart but it doesn’t factor in I’m built like a running back so I’m wider. People never discuss that factor with rope sizing.
@ true! I also bought my crossropes by the size chart and it was too long. Same with the hereropes, but at least I could adjust those and it was good to be able to show.
I use the 1/2 pound Hererope to start off my jump rope routine and I finish it with a lighter rope. For me it feels easier after the heavy rope.
@@djtruedomination interesting! Funny how the ropes affect us differently. And for me, differently at different times.
“You killed the tree” is hilarious haha
Haha. 😂
Thank you for this!
@ I’m there for you with my fails haha
Misleading name of the video. You didn't show how to freeze green beans, only how to wash.
Haha that’s just a short. If you click on the link, it’ll take you to the whole video. I’m not good at doing this, so it’s my fault.
Im absolutely addicted to jumping rope.
@@skybelowus_ me, too! ❤️
Good investment if you jump rope a lot!
@@skybelowus_ yes-for sure.
About how long should the whole circuit take?
That depends on how quickly you are able to complete each rep. Some people do exercises much more slowly than others, but for me, one time through each circuit takes roughly 3-5 minutes. I also do additional jump rope or other cardio after doing all the muscle exercises, which adds time on. I like to have my personal workouts last about an hour, so I spend around 10 min. warming up, then go through the circuit at least 3 times, then do more cardio after that. Someone pressed for time could warm up 5 min., go through the circuit 3 times, then be done, all in 15 min. Thanks for the question.
Love this
Thank you
I'm starting to learn the mic release with my beaded rope. My question is: Is it OK to have a few inches of cord showing at the end of the rope I'm holding on to? I usually have about 2 inches of cord showing below each handle and the beads congregate at one end when I practive mic release drills. Thank you!
@@tinalewis6782 thanks for the question-yes it’s fine to have it and I’ve also noticed it’s almost impossible to get the beads tight enough to make the space go away. I’ve seen that almost every jumper using a beaded rope has the string gap, as I’m going to call it, so it’s not just you and me. ❤️
@@lisadavisbodyconstruction "String gap" - I love that! I definitely like my "string gap" as the rope seems to spin faster with it.
@@tinalewis6782that’s always a plus. Haha. I tried and tried to tighten the rope to get rid of my own string gap and it persisted, so I decided to go with the flow. Then I noticed it’s the same with everyone else’s, too. Happy jumping❤
I have those ropes.
@@djtruedomination They’re great ropes. Great minds think alike. Haha
@@lisadavisbodyconstruction Absolutely!
How long does my jumprope need to be?
@@courtneydavis3871 check out the latest video on my channel about how I size my jump rope. Thanks for the question.
You inspire me ma’am . I am 43 years old and this year I decided to start to jump rope again amidst all the limitations , I try to jumprope 5 days a week. That’s the major workout I do. And whenever I watch your videos I tell myself it’s never too late to start 🎉🎉👏👏👏
That is so awesome to hear! Thanks so much for your message❤. And you’re right! Never too old to start.
I’m guilty of jumping too high as evidenced by the last video lol
That’s where the practice comes in and you’re already doing excellent work.
Love it 😅
Grazie 😊
Courtney didn't have a chance.
haha
The older lady looks great for 57.
@@samfisher4922 awww thank you (coming from the older lady).
If you are just starting out what rope should I use
@@peterwright9121 I personally started with a PVC rope because it’s just what I found that worked for me at the time and not knowing anyone who jumped rope. Many people begin with a beaded rope and love those because they move a little slower through the air and folks think they’re more responsive for learning. I never really felt that way, but I like to go fast and beaded ropes are slow-PVC is fast. Since I’ve been a serious runner prior to learning jump rope, maybe that’s why. I love supplementing my workout with weighted ropes like these on the video, but for starting out, I wouldn’t use them. I have links for the PVC ropes I always like, if you’re interested. Thank you for asking
Ok I'm interested in the links
