Nice review Gert! Joel and I have this Ballechin 18 yo cask strength with a backup bottle. He likes it more than I do. It's a bit sweet for me and I would appreciate a lot more smoke! It's a nice dram. It's pricey but I think we both feel like it's worth it. This is a dram that's better suited for people who don't love peated scotch but all scotch enthusiasts would probably enjoy this scotch. It's just a tad too sweet. We don't add water. This is the price these days for scotch! We only live once! Get a bottle, savour it and enjoy! If you can how about one of each - this and the Springbank! Have a fabulous weekend! Cheers! 🙂

I just asked Joel how much he paid for the Ballechin 18 cask strength - it was a deal here in Vancouver - he ordered it from Alberta. $175 Canadian before taxes. He said to add in he loves it and thinks it's worth it and he also adores the Springbank that you just reviewed! 🙂I do wish excellent scotch was available price wise for everyone. That's my overall wish - I want all scotch enthusiasts to be able to have these lovely drams. Prices are insane.
I have been having Ballechin "First-Fill Manzanilla Sherry Butt" 19yo on my wishlist for a while seems I really should give it ago tho it's almost 180€ + shipping I can't buy it locally sadly.. sounds to me it is great stuff indeed! Do you mind telling what is that Belgium shop you are buying your bottles from? wonder if they would ship to my country? cheers!
I buy in a couple of places. Samples I get at 3 shops. One is called www.rhumattitude.com they have an online store in France and a store in Belgium. drankdozijn.be is also great.
