No matter how bad my day is it always turns out well when you have posted a new video and I watch it with a glass in hand. Keep up the great work you do. I for one appreciate it.
hi Ralfy. Sounds like this Edradour would go nice in late spring as you muse a "Summers fields" connection like maybe a late May early June kind of a Scotch huh?! sounds like one to put away for. cheers Ralfy
Looking forward to the end of year review. I'm sure I'm not speaking only for myself when I say that I love your longer reviews. It allows us to connect more with your thought process and engage more in the history of the whiskey. Keep up the good work Ralfy!
I just bought an Edradour few days ago. A Straight from the cask, matured on chardonnay cask matured. Outstanding. So FULL of flavor. The distillery maybe the smallest, their flavor and dedication certainly is not.
Love your whisky reviews Ralfy, I love how knowledgeable you are regarding how these whiskeys are produced and the history of several brands. Glad I found out about these reviews after experimenting with different whiskeys for about a year myself. Incidentally have you ever heard of a label called Old St. Andrews? I tried some of the Clubhouse label a while ago and thought it was a pretty good blended scotch but haven't had the chance to have a second try of the stuff. I'd love to hear your opinion on it sometime :).
This sounds very interesting and has made me consider trying some different (non Bourbon / Sherry) casks again - I had a poor experience with a Ben Riach Sauternes which I found had a very odd fungus character and that has made me quite wary. So going by what you're presenting here the problem could have been with the quality Ben Riach's cask(s) rather than the fact that they were ex-Sauternes. I had a taster of a Balblair Islay cask recently - and that worked - it worked nicely in fact. Edradour Distillery sounds like a must visit. Big-up to the Independents!! Keep it craft!!!
Hello Ralfy. The only experience I've had with Edradour are these here Handmade Single Highland Malt Whisky Fudge! On the back of the tin it says a generous am't of Edradour was used in this fudge w/permission of Signatory Scotch Ltd. Wow huh?! & yes 'twas "First" after all! Peace
hello ralfy nice review just got a few bottles whisky today for crimbo benromach 10 wonderfull stuff re-review maybe plz.but i got a hibiki 12 and not impressed but the tip of the cork is a darker colour to the rest of it mabe its just not to my taste any advice plz
Ralfy, have you tried the Ballechin 10? This seems to be Edradour's new line of peated whisky, now that they're concluded the "Discovery" series of different cask types. Any of the Ballechins are hard to find in the USA, so I'm curious if it's worth the expense of overseas shipping just to give this one a try.
Hi Ralfy. 2shorties...in your opinion do many at all of the malt blend blenders use 'any" rye in that grain porportion? & what do you feel that lowest % of SM (40%-60%??)that can be used by law for Blended whiskys ...any limits? Thnnx
hey Ralfy love all the vlogs been watching for a while. Just a quick question well the latest video is private which i'm sure will change soon but a couple i wanted your opinion on (being in canada my options seem to be limited and taxed heavily) would be the glenlivet 21 yr and glenfiddich malt master's edition. keep up the good work
Hi Ralfy, I would like to try a whisk(e)y with some strong oak notes, so do you have any recommendations for me which are not overpriced since they have to have quiet a high age statement on their labels? Should I look out for Bourbons at first because of the new white oak casks which were used? Greetings from Bavaria, Germany
Hello Ralfy, I have had Glenfiddich as my first purchase, Highland Park 12 second, and Laphroaig QC as my third. Where should I go from here? I was thinking Lagavulin 16, Highland Park 18, or something else (Christmas gift I can only choose one bottle).
The Edradour 10 is conspicuous by virtue of its absence from your many reviews ... do we assume that it does not meet with your approval therefore? I just bought a bottle and looked for a review by yourself ...
Interesting in the spirit and beer world. How the word craft seems to have replaced the word micro? Strange distillery edradour I find there products very hit and miss.
(cont) Just observations mate but just think about it for a minute.. You continually trash the Brands however well made they may be. you're Indie happy while lots of them are clearly disappointments...you push the NAS agenda and as a "quote unquote" independent taster you are now exposing yourself to the very commercialism that you've railed against from day one! ...can you spell Irony ?? ahhgg today you lost more than just a handful of die believers. things have been getting weird lately and its not just Google+. trust me on this one Ralfy beholden to the powers that be are half steps that will net us nothing. Been there done that & seen it time and again in the Entertainment business. You are now becoming part of the machine Ralfy, shame that. good day sir.
"Continually trash the brands" - false. In fact Ralfy has given positive reviews to many brands. "...you're Indie happy" - false; the majority of Ralfy's reviews are not of independent bottling and he has repeatedly stated that quality of independents varies widely. "Exposing yourself to the very commercialism" - false: an occasional bottle swap, stated up front, is hardly wholesale corruption as you imply when you add "...R. beholden to the powers that be..." As for "...die believers..." and unspecified "things...getting weird... not just Google+," this all sounds vague and unclear at best and conspiracy crazy at worst. Does he "push the NAS agenda?" I admit I'm not certain on this one, you may be right, but is there obvious harm with NAS? One plausible objection is that the distillers can get away with providing less factual information on the label, but on the other hand age statements can be used to mislead and obfuscate as well. Just finished a bottle of that and loved it! At $52.00 from my bottle shop I thought it was a steal!

Old St A's a reasonable blend, but Vat 69 would be my pointer !
Good luck with your malt-mission.

Hi Ralfy, can you review the Edradour Caledonia please
It's not the size of your distillery, it's the quality of your product.

Ahhhhhh Ralfy boy, great review... keep it up mate !

Ralfy, I saw you posted a new video today (Macallan Directors Edition), but now it's marked private. More RUclips troubles?
Great review Ralfy and I LOVE Sauternes wines. Are there any good whiskies with sauternes finish that won't break the bank? ( under $100)
What keeps auto adjusting? Video quality seems down as of late :(

Glenfiddich rich Oak and Dalmore 12yo

**Thank you for helping me establish an interest in whisky over the last two years.

Every one is suitable, Islay malts for when it's really cold !

First comment!
Thanks for all the videos Ralfy :)
What a poet is that man 😜
Ahgg! darn satellite delay. I must most graciously concede to David or Jacob
Peace.

. . . I have reviewed Edradour, and will review more !
I am referring to the 10 year old expression specifically ...
Rikitocker - I'd also like to see a review of the 10.
W.R. 417 is not avaliable anymore..hmm..has Macallan been slightly dissapointed..? :-)
There sure are a lot of whiskeys out there..
Interesting in the spirit and beer world. How the word craft seems to have replaced the word micro? Strange distillery edradour I find there products very hit and miss.
Why can't we combine quality AND quantity? Wasn't it David Hume that said "nothing succeeds likes excess?" Perhaps not.
It can happen sometimes ! . . . Aberlour A'bunadh
Yep, I'd rather drink half as much, half as often and twice as good.
well said
isnt scotch whiskey make with used white oak american white oak cask.s????that american whiskey has bin aged in already>>>.
I can be, many ex-bourbon casks are used !
¶:€...doesn't Ralfy resemble a Scottish John Goodman?! complete w/talent!
Peace all
please dont shot with automatic iris next time
it's part of the set-up which I can't alter.
Too bad, I love your videos but it hurts the eyes
Sorry Ralfy but I can't give your reviews any merit since you don't even give any reviews over 93 points. What the heck?
