  • Dr. Kennedy's bio:
    I have been a family medicine physician for over 20 years. For the last 15 years I worked in Kaiser Permanente in Portland Oregon. I learned about the mind body model after learning about Howard Schubiner in my search to find better answers for the many patients we cannot help with the current medical paradigm. I used the mind-body approach in the integrative clinic at Kaiser with hundreds of patients for a wide array of symptoms. I became the lead of the long COVID clinic for the entire Northwest Kaiser region where I assessed hundreds of long COVID patients and treated many of them successfully. Seeing the profound impact of this work, I left Kaiser in October of 2023 to start my own practice focusing on this model exclusively.

    I surfer from Long-Covid and it took me 18 months to understand that it was a mind-body issue.

    This was an amazing video by the way! You don’t need anything else with mind body info but this video! As a future NP I loved it. It has been hard for me to get out of the medical model so hearing this from a primary care physician( I’m a future FNP graduating in 7 months) it really helps bring it into realization and get out of just medical thinking! I had long covid from a very mild infection and sometimes I still get sensations but not freaking out helps

    Very helpfull explaining the biochemical proces in the brain influencing the mitochondrial proces, its not only the spikeprotein who's influencing that...

    What are the tools she speaks of with the pain reprocessing therapy of showing the unconscious brain we are safe? How do we push into the discomfort and showing it is safe besides somatic tracking?

      You need to retrain your brain by constantly reassuring that it's safe. Check out the Pain free you channel from Dan Buglio.
      As for the discomfort: continuing to do things because if you skip activities because you had a flare up last time then your world will shrink and shrink and shrink.

      This can include several different somatic practices and nervous system regulation practices outside of somatic tracking. I will try to do a full PRT video in the future!

      for example: speaking to other people, smiling, enjoying interests, slow breathing, not believing negative thoughts, etc
