I’m in tears, i took 2 courses of isotretinoin two years apart and I’m breaking out again, this is so frustrating and Im hating my skin, i am 25 yo and still having these hormonal acne, i spent so much time and money on skincare products, doctor visits ect. Why I can’t have a normal skin😢, as i PCOS patient I suggest to my doctor to prescribe me spironolactone and i see no improvement, I’m concedering taking 3rd course of isotretinoin as it’s the only thing that works on my resistant acne even if it might cause liver damage 💔 god help me 😞

Hey same problem happened with me....i also used isotretinoin tablets for two years and suddenly breaking out again...and i started hating my skin ....and lose my confidence ..sometimes I could not control my tears but I believed in myself and keep loving my skin with breaking out problem . So instead of spending that much amount of money for medicines i searched for many products online that I can include in my daily skin care routine.......So i switched to cica one + niacinamide serum and saliyalic acid face wash ........... it's about two months now....my breaking out problem is still better than the previous one.....I am still fighting with my inner thoughts ....but along with it i am trying to be patient with the skin care products ....and i know somewhere it will go with the passes of time...🔱🔱 Just be Positive + have faith in yourself+ choose right skin care products+ have patient ✨✨.....i know it's hard so much because I am used to my previous one skin ..........daily skin care products work slow but it will give the result .....believe me..✨✨

Have you tried testing your hormones? Perhaps checking out Dutch test.. it’s expensive but honestly better to know the root cause and deal with that.. best of luck!!

I'm on 20mg isotretinoin. I was a little scared before starting just because of all the stories that we hear online, but i trusted my dermatologist and i'm on month 5 now. The only side effect i have is dryer skin , hair and eyes. My skin is super smooth but i still get some cystic pimples, lets hope that in the month i have left it goes away...

I really want to start oral tret because the moment I stop using the beauty of joseon niacinamide it all comes back in full flow. And I do have acne when I am on my period, but that's acceptable but this constant painful, deep scarring acne all over my face is incredibly disturbing. I talked to my doc and he said to start slow. It's so expensive to buy skincare and sometimes I do want to have the freedom to use different skincare products and not be afraid that everything will come back😭😭😭😭 I wanna feel pretty, and when my face stays clear my makeup sets so beautifully and I feel so good, I don't even have to go out with much.

Does Accutane help very oily skin? I wish they had this available in the early 1960s so I could take it in the fifth grade!! My classmates all looked so perfect back then, 5th grade until 10th! Some of them may not still be alive, as I am 67 years old now!!

I’m on 20mgs a day and will be for about 16 months. My dermatologist wants to do a low dose over a long period of time but my acne isn’t scarring & it’s adult female acne so that’s probably why. Mines stubborn lol. I’m on month 2.5 so he may still up my dose, who knows.

I think dermatologist should use Dutch test to check peoples hormones before they put anyone on these prescriptions. It makes sense to study the underlying cause and the state of all hormones and correct that rather then treat the symptoms.

Is 220+mg/kg considered 2 rounds of accutane (where 120-150 is the typical dose? Or could a second round of up to a similar total dose also be done? I was curious if there was a benchmark for maximum lifetime dose.
