I'm so happy about what I know now compared to everyone else my age. My routine is pretty simple for this quarantine since I'm not using makeup etc. I just cleanse (CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser) morning and night, then use two different moisturizers (Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream as base and a hundred layers of CeraVe Moisturising Lotion throughout the day).

I wasn't aware of the dry eyes(I wear contacts), dry scalp and vagina/anal dryness. I got waxed and burnt my skin. I use to do gel manicures and dried out my nails/hands. I figured it was because of the accutane. Now I don't do any of those for at least another 8 months until I am finished. I just turned 58. I was traveling down under in their winter. My skin is much more sensitive and delicate though. For awhile I was hesitant to take it because I heard the horrible side effects from it. But when my dermatologist assured me I am closely monitored and hearing success stories from others I gave in and had treatment for 5 months. Best decision ever.

That Neutrogena cleanser might be good but it's pretty expensive in Australia, like ~$20 give or take. I'd only grab it if it's on sale (which luckily Neutrogena often is or I'd never buy the hydro boost moisturizer).
A nice cheaper alternative would be Simple's moisturizering face wash, followed up by Simple's soothing facial toner. These two go together like peanut butter and jelly and were great when I began tretanoin and a little goes a really long way with it. I still have about half a tube left.
I still use the toner btw, amazing ingredients for what you're paying.

I grew up in the eighty so sun bathing was popular although I wasn’t doing it. My eyesight deteriorated rapidly and I had mood swings. among the other side effects. Accutane only kept acnes at bay while on it. It was Diane 35 that helped at the end. I’m glad accutane works for other people.

A great video, as usual: thank you, Dr. Dray. However...
The recommended CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bar is not fragrance free: it contains ethylene brassylate, a fragrance ingredient (or masking agent as CeraVe misleadingly refer to it), known to be irritating. It is present in sufficient amounts to cause numerous reviewers to complain about its intensity (e.g. it's strong enough to linger on towels).
When Dr. Dray says women "cannot get pregnant" while taking Accutane, she means instead that they MUST NOT conceive: pregnancy is still possible (i.e. the drug is not a contraceptive), but it must be avoided because of the devastating effect it can have on a developing fetus.
