@@nimra7569 yay!!! biochemistry is awesome. The #1 thing that I hear recent biochem grads say they wish they would have known is to get lab experience while you're in college. It differs based on where you go, and the bigger your university, the more it's up to you to make sure you get lab experience. For your first 1-2 semesters, get good grades and show your professors your enthusiasm. Ask them about their research and make it clear you want to get hands-on lab experience. Even if your professors don't need any undergrads in their labs, they can help you find someone who does and put in a good word for you. Having lab experience where you learn skills and concepts like cloning, cell culture, PCR, immunoprecipitation, etc. will absolutely put you miles ahead of your peers when senior year comes and it's time to find a job or apply to grad school. A candidate with average grades and good lab experience will usually be preferred to a candidate with perfect grades and no lab experience (though grades are also important!). The professional science world talks a lot about the importance of resilience, and I wish that we would talk to undergrads about resilience too. Research science is a game you can never win because the goalpost always moves away when you get close, and depending on your outlook, that can either cause burnout or it can excite you. Some days you'll feel really stressed about your classes and you might feel like you're never good enough in the lab, and it's really important that you learn how to keep your mindset constructive. The closer we look at biology, the more there is to look at, and that's absolutely magical. The best scientists are the best because even though they've failed a million times like everyone else, they're the ones who just kept getting back up over and over again and refused to be defeated. They know how to take care of themselves when they need a break and they know how to apply themselves when it's time to work. The thrill of science is in becoming one of the undefeatable few so you can help create a better future for the world. When you're doing your best, you can recover from any slip-up. Let me just say, I love you so much. Like sooo much. A trustworthy dermatologist with perfect skin that literally uses affordable products in her routine. You’ve also helped me with my increase in armpit stench that I’ve been struggling w/ for months when all the deodorant I used stopped working. That u for sharing great info w/ us.

Dr. Dray is the best! I've been struggling for years with my skin and watching bad influencers made me poor with bad skin lol Dr. Dray got me better. She deserves the most following tbh.
She is very passionate about educating. More and more Doctors are showing up in the online video space to teach us. So generous. I learn so much from all my online youtube Doctors. So grateful to be able to learn in this way. We appreciate you Dr D!
Happy ThusDray! I've been slowly switching over to most of these products as my old overpriced skincare is used up and both my skin and wallet can't be happier! Thank you, Dr. Dray for teaching us to listen to science instead of marketing.
I'm so stunned, I fully expected a routine full of luxury end, fancier and less known products, not just a shit ton of drugstore products XD that's so cool.
I’ve been watching your videos for over a year now and I don’t know why I waited so long to try the Cetaphil Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer. I’ve been using it for a week and it feels so soothing. And with panthenol, allantoin, licorice root, niacinamide, ceramides, and shea butter, it’s kind of a dream ingredient list. Thank you for the recommendations and for all the knowledge and help you’ve given to my skin over the last year. 🤗
I know this is probably a long shot, but if you (or anyone) knows of a cruelty free dupe for it I’d be so grateful. If not thanks anyway but yeah if anybody knew then I’d love to buy it thanks!!!
Since watching you, I am washing my underarms with Zapzyt, putting my wet hair in an old tea towel, and slandering my body with Ceramedx as soon as I get out of the shower. I must say my skin and hair like this routine. I finally convinced my husband to use the Ceramedx right out of the shower too and he says his skin is less itchy and dry. Oh and using moisturizer before I apply Tretinoin has been a game changer for me.

Not surprised to see so many comments. I know many subs have been anxiously awaiting an updated skin care routine. I'm happy to see I have several of the products you're using in my arsenal. Happy Thursday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a wonderful evening. 💗
Review idea: My dermatologist recommended Differin products. I used the gel and moisturizers and it cleared my skin, and was not as irritating as Retin-A was. He said it used to be prescription only and is from Canada. He also said it might work better than Retin-A for me and he was right.
This is so informative. I love the part about skipping towels and moisturizing the body while your skin is damp. I already do that with my face and never thought about including the rest of me in the routine.
YES. Love when Dr. Dray walks us through a routine!!! I so wish that I could not wash my face in the morning. But I just wake up with too many eye crusties. Plus I always end up dribbling toothpaste down my chin when I brush my teeth lol. Alas, I wash it and end up putting on my "extras" since they're in the bathroom looking at me (HA + Polyglutamic acid+ Moisturizer). And Sunscreen of course. Lol Happy Thursday friends :)
Just a suggestion - my optometrist noticed I had eye crusty buildup (that wasn’t what he called it ofc lol) and told me to steam my eyes by dampening a cloth with warm water then holding it to each eye, one at a time, for a few seconds each. Gets the crusties to dissolve and wipe off. :)
I clicked as soon as I saw your updated skin care routine! Thank you for always sharing your honest advice and saving us a ton of money. We ❤️ you Dr. Dray our forever favorite dermatologist
My skin care routine after i found Dr. Dray in my life!!! PM: - grapeseed oil for cleansing follow up with the hydration toleraine cleanser from La Poche Rosay. Some night i will use the Cerave Acne wash with Benzoyl peroxide to keep the acne bacteria out of the way. - after cleansing i will put 100 colloidal oatmeal from Aveeno on my face. I make this in a tiny bottle and freeze it to use it throughput the week then i will put my Cerave moisturizer cream. - after 30 minutes i will put vaseline on sensitive areas before applying differin. AM: - i put The Inkey list Salicylic acid as a treatment ( i don't wet my face). I let it sit for some 5 to 10 minutes. - after washing my face i will put colloidal oatmeal follow up with Cerave moisturizer. - after 30.minutes i follow up with my sunscreen P20 rieman spf 50.kids. it has the newer generation sunscreen agent. Lastly, i wash my body with Cerave SA body was which has the same exact ingredients as the SA cleanser. Under my armpits and between my thighs i will wash with the acne wash of Cerave with benzoyl peroxide. And i use the Almay deodorant and its awesome. In the future i will purchase the recommended lips spf, body sunscreen eucerin and the healing ointment of Cerave. All the products i use in my routine are recommendation of dr dray with the exception of my sunscree of choice. My skin is glowinnnnng. All the credit to Dr Dray. I have been using Neutrogena Oil for many years. As a senior, I don't like smelling like a perfume counter so I apply the oil with my skin still damp after showering. The light, clean smell stays for hours. I also have been using the CerVe facial cleanser for years right in the shower. I'm delighted to know that you use these products.
You are THE best! I'm a visual learner and you clear up any questions or confusion by showing exactly what you mean. Thank you for taking one for the team and showing a visual of your entire routine, including being in the shower, it is much appreciated.
I used to love Cerave cleanser and PM lotion, but more recently my skin needed more moisture. I’ve since switched to Neutrogena Cleansing Gel and Neutrogena Hydrating Gel. I then use Vanicream lotion and top off the dry flaky patches with LaRoche Posay Cicaplast healing balm. Go figure why my skin needed the change.
Me too. But I mean the one that takes off your makeup. I can't stand the feel of oil cleansers on my skin!!! But, I ALWAYS double cleanse. Always have. Plus...have Always put my body lotion on when I've just stepped out of shower! Just Makes extremely good sense. And always goes on so easily. No need for towels! Put my hair up in a turban. @@CK-jm7sq Dr. Dray uses exclusively disposable razors. She said it's more sanitary and you should change out your razors often. However, she doesn't shave much anymore since she got laser hair removal.
@@msi8311 subsidizing isn’t really always a good thing. Humans are naturally moving towards environmentally friendly options as well. But once government gets involved with the skin laser stuff it’s gonna get more expensive.
@@starletd6819 Technically, you can shave more efficously. Straight razors don't do as good of a job, but they are,at the end of the day, recyclable and reusable for years to come. Bonus, they can be fully sterilized. (Side note: If you use one disassemble and cleaning in a disinfectant bath is a must.) If gilette or some other brand would come up with a fragrance free shaving lather, or an antiperspirant I would by it in a heartbeat. I know there's an argument to be made for not, trimming, shaving, ect. But as ever, people get used to it. And if you wear tight clothes nothing is worse than pulling leggings, for example, over the winter fur.
I remember when my mother used Vaseline Intensive Care line years ago when it was a watery, alcohol loaded lotion. They’ve upped their game from back then.
@urthebest1122 I must around your Mother’s age and remember when everyone was using it because I always hated the smell of it and refused to jump on the bandwagon. Jurgens Lotion was another popular moisturizer that my Grandmother always used. It was more tolerable to me because it reminded me of her but it actually stunk of almonds & cherry. We’ve come such a long way with skincare!
Becky C. Yes, I remember it drying my mother’s skin out - opposite of what it was supposed to do. I never liked the smell of it either! I think some of the major brands didn’t know enough about proper formulations back then. But, they’ve come around a bit thank goodness. Although some still have irritating ingredients depending on how sensitive a person’s skin is.
Can you do a brand review of Eucerin? I tried the lotion with SPF and SPF hand cream and love them based on your recommendation. I’d love to hear more about the brand. They seem seriously underrated.
From my experience as a medical student, eucerin is the brand of lotion most pediatricians and doctors recommend to patients for eczema and dry skin. It's also used a lot in pharmacies, like to compound other creams. I feel like their focus is more on making products for medical use rather than marketing themselves as a consumer brand.
I watched this video last week, and immediately ordered the neutrogena body oil, cetaphil redness relief night cream, and the coppertone defend and care that you mention here, as well as vanicream gentle facial cleanser you mention in another video. I have dry, easily irritated / easily reddened skin, and it has been acting up even more lately. Oh my goodness - it's only been a week, and I'm already seeing a tremendous difference in how my skin looks and feels. My skin tone has evened out, the pores on my nose are not nearly as noticeable, and my skin just feels better all the way around. Then there's the bonus that these are all easily affordable products that WORK. Thank you!
@@goddessglow6996 all of her videos have helped me and changed my life really jus learning about ingredients and chemicals and not using fragrance and essential oils. Essential oils burns my face. Fragrance breaks me out.

Applying moisturizer to wet skin has been a game changer! I'm ridiculously soft now.
When I do that it makes my face really dry. Idk if I’m doing something wrong

Agreed. Skincare reaction videos aren't necessarily bad. But some (won't name names) are so "judgy," it's annoying, lol.

Andrea Perea I love how she just used pretty much all dermatologist recommended brands and kept it real. 😂
I've taken pretty good care of my skin since I was a teenager (I'm 66 now). However, I have learned so much from Dr. Dray since watching her a little over a year ago and the proof is in my skin. She's the best.
Me too. I’m 70 and have spent less money and have better skin since watching Dr. Dray!!!!
I love how she isn't gimmicky and how quirky she is!
Ever since I discovered Dr. Dray, I started using moisturizer on damp skin on my body. Changed my life.
Do you hear that rumbling? It’s the sound of the entire skincare community stampeding toward this video 😂
It's the sound of a certain youtuber obsessed with Dr Dray about to talk trash yet again smh

It’s the sound of her skincare community stampeding to the store/amazon/iherb to purchase! 😹😻

I swear by oil cleansing (and washing the oil off with a gentle cleanser). It played a HUGE role in healing my acne!!!
Wich oil cleanser you use?
really? I just started it two weeks ago but still scared of breakouts and wanted to quit.
wich oil cleansing do you use?
I bought simple's oil cleanser but it broke me out on my t zone maybe I used a lot. I massaged it for 15 minutes 3 times in 4 days and I have oily skin so that's probably why but I hope they don't leave scars
larrystylinson Maybe you’re using a comedogenic oil, sunflower oil is great for oily skin and if your acne prone or currently have acne I’ve read somewhere jojoba oil works well

Luxury products are full of fragrances and colours which often defeat the purpose of skincare.
Teens today are so lucky to have this information available on the internet! I wish i have this as a teenager

Oh and using moisturizer before I apply Tretinoin has been a game changer for me.
i just loved the "you don't need to shower your entire body" tip. I have dry body skin and also tattoos, so it makes a HUGE diference on the colors! thank you for sharing
I actually use the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser on my body in the shower, as well as the Foaming Cleanser in my face. CeraVe ftw

Im way more excited about this video than I should be
Review idea: My dermatologist recommended Differin products.
@@reckonerwheel5336 Thanks!
reckonerwheel I backup this. It was suggested to me also by my optometrist and works well. I get it because of seasonal allergens

Hey, whats your age? You seem pretty!
My skin care routine after i found Dr. Dray in my life!!!
PM:
- grapeseed oil for cleansing follow up with the hydration toleraine cleanser from La Poche Rosay.
AM:
- i put The Inkey list Salicylic acid as a treatment ( i don't wet my face).
Thank you deeply from my heart for all the skin care education!!!

Your skin care routine videos have changed my life. Struggled with moderate acne for years and all of your suggestions were the only thing that’s ever worked for me.

Same. I want to try this same routine but I'm wondering if it will work for acne. I get bad acne but I dont think I get acne because I'm prone to acne but rather, because I don't even have a skincare routine and my face doesn't know what to do.

I really love ponds fragrance free.
It’s funny but before Dr Dray, I wasted so much money on skincare from Sephora. Like one lotion or mask jar cost me $120. None of the “high end” skincare have worked miracles like drugstore skincare has like Cerave for my super oily/acne prone skin and even my fine lines.
cynthiawaiting good for you. For me, there are so many wrongs with Cerave. It broke my skin.
Yes exactly! I have dry skin and eczema in my hands/back of my legs.

Someone needs to ban wipes. The environment :'(
Yes! Disposable plastic razors and toothbrushes do a lot of damage too!
@@CK-jm7sq Dr. Dray uses exclusively disposable razors. She said it's more sanitary and you should change out your razors often. However, she doesn't shave much anymore since she got laser hair removal.
I’m writing to Congress and telling them to subsidize laser hair removal so we can save the environment.
(Side note: If you use one disassemble and cleaning in a disinfectant bath is a must.)
If gilette or some other brand would come up with a fragrance free shaving lather, or an antiperspirant I would by it in a heartbeat.
I’m 60 years old and the old Vaseline Intensive Care always gave me dermatitis breakouts on my legs and palms of my hands. I’ve avoided it ever since.
🙋 I would love a brand review too
From my experience as a medical student, eucerin is the brand of lotion most pediatricians and doctors recommend to patients for eczema and dry skin.
Thank you!
