I went on accutane when I was 17 (14 years ago) and I just wanted to let you all know that your best skin likely won’t happen while you’re taking accutane. I had incredible results but I didn’t have clear skin while I was taking the medication, it came later. So keep your head up!
Ditto!! Skin looked its best probably 6 months-1 year after. My dermatologist said this was because the “healing” was done, my skin barrier was back intact, and things had finally settled down.
I honestly love your videos. The edit is flawless. Showing the before and after shots, swatches, letting us see you use the products. It just feels so far ahead from other videos I watch.
Finally on my last month and a half of Accutane. I am so thankfully for it. Waking up and being able to leave the house without feeling like people are staring at my pimpley face is a god send! You're almost there Karima!!
It’s really lovely to see your happiness increase after every week. As someone that had really severe acne in their teens I know how it feels and it’s so nice to see you confident. I have just switched off the acne pill to a regular pill (1 month ago) I am waiting to see if my acne comes back :(
I've had moderate cystic acne for years. I started low dose accutane in 2018 which continued for 1.5 years. A decision that I won't regret for a bit. Although I was hesitant at first due to harsh side effects. But let me warn you Karimma, accutane won't guarantee you your flawless skin back. I've become vegan and on glutamine and collagen to heal my gut because accutane couldn't help the root issue which is my gut. I started getting my acne but much more smaller and easy to treat. Which isn't an issue. Your skin looks amazing! Very happy for you!!!
Tretinoin changed my skin completely, I had acne all over my body “Shoulder, back, thighs & face of course”. I tried everything with my skin and nothing worked other than Tretenoin. A lot of people kept telling me not to use it and it will to much on my body but I am thankful that I did use it.
I did Accutane for 7 months and a pretty high dose. My saving grace was to coat myself in aquaphor. I went through 6 tubes of it and it truly was my holy grail.
I did high dose for 6 months for minor but persistent acne. BEST.THING.EVER. Lol. It's been a few years and I've had like less than 5 zits since I finished. And yes, it's true. Accutane will make the skin healthier and younger looking and fuller. It's Vitamin A after all. My derm told me lots of celebrities take a low dose 1-2 times a week for anti-aging benefits and just to keep the skin refined and poreless.
Not accutane but severe acne story: I had cystic acne on whole of my face when I was 17. I went on a birth control for almost 6 years, it helped with the worst but I had more smaller breakouts on whole of my body. I stopped taking it 3 years ago. About two months ago I figured out that my acne was most likely caused by a mix of allergy to milk, very poor tolerance of sugar, atopic dermatitis and overall dryness of my skin. Since cutting out milk and sugar my skin improved a lot. I had to change whole skincare routine, so I won't irritate my skin. It is so simple now, it's only micellar water, lightweight moisturiser and sunscreen in the morning and micellar water, gentle cleanser and the same moisturiser in the evening. The only thing that my skin will tolerate once a week is very gentle enzyme mask. I can't wear foundation, because every single one that I've tried is making me have rash over my whole face. At least it's not that case with concealer. It was really trial and error, but at least after 9 years I finally figured it out.
Coincidentally I am also on accutane (finally did it at 27) and also dealing with the side effects- except I am taking 80mg/day. Everything is a desert! My best friends: aveeno eczema balm (basically glycerine, fatty alcohols, and other boring goodness), aquaphor, and illiyoon ceramide cream. I cake on the moisturizer and aquaphor all day long and stay away from showering more than every other day because my body skin and scalp just gets dry. I can seriously go a week without showering and my hair will still look decent. I only use soap in "dirty" areas and only wash my skin if I wear any makeup or if I just feel like my face is grimey. Also worth noting- if you are on accutane, you really aren't supposed to use any kind of exfoliators or retinol products. Using something like the REN glycolactic peel on accutane-d skin like mine would 100% cause a chemical burn. It's the same reason that chemical peels, lasers, etc are contraindicated while you're on accutane
yeahh, last year when i take 20mg Accutane, my skin superr sensitif, that time i do exfoliating just otc product, toner glycolid acid 7%, with lactid 1,2% and Bha 2%, and my face is burn.. after that i feel maybe i’ve damage skin barrier, i don’t know it happens because i’m on accutane. but now i know the reason, so last month i’ve lots of acne again, i take 10mg accutane, purging, and i use exfo toner and nothing happens (not burn at all) but i was scared my face will burn sometimes, and i use azelaic acid gentle acid, safe for sensitif skin, every morning
Do you know the brand skinceutical? I use that brand for my face. I’m going on accutane very soon!!! Is it okay to use their products? I use cleansers, serum treatment, and eye cream all from skinceutical.
THE ONLY LIPBALM THAT SAVED ME WHILE ON ACCUTANE: Pure lanolin. Cheap and SO effective. I’m in Australia and I buy Lansinoh from the chemist. It’s in the baby section because it’s actually marketed as a nipple cream when breastfeeding, but it’s amazing as a lipbalm. Comes out clear and glossy, can be used under or over other lip colours or also at night... Its thick but not sticky, stays on for ages... The best, and so cheap. I wish more people knew about this.
I’ve been on 80 mg for about 3 months. One side effects no one talks about is dandruff. I had horrible dandruff the 1st month, but with the right shampoo it’s now under control 🙏🏻
I have tried so many different medications and treatments for my acne over the years and I am about to start on accutane in a few days I have watched so many videos and reading up about accutane and I just wanted to let you know all your videos on this have been so helpful and really exciting/encouraging to think there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I just wanted to say thank you ❤️
Hey Karima ! I have been on accutane twice (at 14/15 and 17/18) in the past and I suffered from acne (hormonal and once fungal) on and off (accutane gave me some free years) from 14 to 24. I completely understand the decision to try accutane and I genuinely hope that it will clear your skin for good !! However IF your acne were to come back within a year or two after the medication, (do not dispair!) you may want to check certain vital parameters : gut (microbiome analysis), hormone levels (at all stages of the cycle) and insulin, thyroid, liver, cortisol variations, heavy metals and essential minerals levels. In my case, the acne was a sign my body was sending for much bigger underlying problems and I wish I would have had the tools I have now to interpret it and avoid making them worse with certain treatments (like weakening my liver and gut even more and my hormonal system with birth control). The last time I went back on birth control my gut gave up and it now took a lot longer to free myself from acne. Depending on what the issue was my acne changed in form and placement; I'm saying this because the last time I had acne almost exactly like yours it was fungal one, so if it were to come back it might be worth checking out if you have a fungus in your gut. I'm not saying this to be a know it all!! Just wish someone would have given me this advice back then and I just want to broaden your toolkit too :) Lastly, if all fails : NAET Total Reset. It's the therapy that healed me for good. That advice goes for anyone with acne or other health issues. But everyone needs to decide what suits them best depending on resources and lifestyle, just wanted to share my experience and maybe help you and others too !
I stumbled on your post and have so many questions! I have struggled with acne for 5 years when I turned 20 Never been on birth control and figured my diet was the problem went dairy free then vegan then raw vegan all have brought me to the point of desperation to start accutane.
When it comes to lip balm, I highly recommend pure lanoline. It's just as thick and moisturising as the Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask but is SO MUCH CHEAPER.
I also used pure lanolin on my lips whilst on accutane and omg it beat every other lip Balm and comes in a mega big tube so lasted all through my course and then some! Also it's really thick and lasted on the lips longer so didn't have to keep applying... LIFE SAVER!!
I did an 8 month round of it a couple years ago and have NOT regretted it for a second. Also glad to hear your symptoms have been minor! I experienced all the horror story ones - constant bloody noses, repeatedly catching pink eye, terrible joint pain and stiffness, sensitive gums, post traumatic IBS after a stomach bug, and insane dryness that lasted at least a year after I finished my course. Still, worth it. Now I only really get breakouts when I'm off my birth control for those placebo days. For anyone curious, my holy grail products included aquaphor on my lips (the OG formula is thicker and has more staying power than the one actually advertised as lip balm), first aid beauty moisturizer (the richest one they offer), and Elta MD sunscreen (again, the richest one you can get). I also got a few UPF shirts and jackets for when I was going to be in the sun - it was easier than reapplying sunscreen and kept me protected while I was super sensitive.
@@LipstickCafe it's only really just begun to get "oily" again, and it's a pretty small amount of oil. I was a grease slick before and now I still consider my skin to be dry and only beginning to slightly push into the normal category. I still need to use the super rich FAB and Elta MD products I was using while on Accutane, but my skin is definitely beginning to produce a bit more of its own oils. It's not enough for me to need to blot throughout the day, though. It's worth noting I don't wear foundation and can get away without setting my concealer if I want to, but sometimes use a light finishing powder to blur pores. If I wore foundation, I think I'd be oilier.
@@MissMichixo hard to know if it was what caused the general IBS I’ve had the last few years because it’s something that you can develop at any point in life, however, I am sure the post traumatic IBS (which lasted a few weeks) I experienced when I got the stomach bug while on accutane was caused by the accutane. The mucous membranes of my lower digestive tract just could not protect themselves from trauma during the stomach bug or repair themselves very well while dried out from the accutane.
Currently on month three of Accutane! While my skin is mostly clear, I do occasionally get a blemish, especially when I’m stressed. They usually clear up super fast and aren’t as severe as before so I’ll take it! It feels so nice to finally have clearer skin. Also, I totally relate to the light sensitivity.
I took a low dose of accutane (the full dosage was based on my weight) during my mid 20s, I saw the best skin during the treatment and saw immediate results. I didn’t get any flare ups, I just experienced tight lips, and dry eyes and dry stool. After the first month my dermatologist said I looked like a porcelain doll. After my dosage fulfillment I did experience acne after that but it was very less severe, and did a second treatment. It has healed my skin, I don’t get cystic acne anymore and I’m in my 30s I have maintained the condition of my skin with facials etc
i'm currently at the tail end of accutane now and Weleda Skin Food is legit my saviour. Whenever something is flaring up. Weleda. Lip prep before bed. Weleda. a literal god send for night time repair
As a teenager I got really bad acne so I started my first isotretinoin journey - my skin improved fast and was almost „perfect“ and without any breakouts for around 7 years. With 21 my skin again started to breakout very badly even worse then before - so I started another isotretinoin lowdose cure which I was on around 8-9 months. At the same time where I stopped my isotretinoin I also did come off the pill. I didn‘t have any breakouts for around 6 months and then it slowly started to flare up again. It‘s again getting really bad at the moment and I‘m just sitting here thinking of going back on isotretinoin, since having acne is just so frustrating. But always remember you‘re not alone!
I had such debilitating no painful acne for 7 years and finished 6 months of 40mg Accutane in November, best decision ever! I get some spots sometime but it’s such a difference to my skin and mental health
I have suffer acne for years and with diet and some products my skin has been looking amazing while I'm still at home on self quarantine. So I guess I never even knew stuff like this could help and believe me, my acne was way worst that you were showing so for me it's kind of amazing what I have archived alone in home. 😄 with a trial and error of a bunch of clean skin care.
To the comments on this please know YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. THE DAY YOU START LOVING YOUR SKIN THE WAY IT IS THAT'S THE DAY HEALING STARTS, MENTAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT. PLEASE LOVE YOURSELVES FIRST. It hurts to see how many comments are about how they want to people to stop looking at them. Fk them let them be. Your worth is not in your acne or your scars. Believe me I've been there and it gets better. It takes time and a bunch of care, diet, try to stop eating milk products and your skin will get better.
I took Accutane almost 10 years ago and it does have lasting effects. #1 I get acne rarely #2 I am still dry EVERYWHERE #3 I have digestive issues I didn't have before Accutane but I'm not positive they are from Accutane even though I think they are related Just an FYI for everyone to be aware of that it is a serious drug with lasting effects that aren't all positive.
I recently cleared up my skin and these are my tips: definitely try chemical peelings and microneedling first before going on accutane! Always wear sunscreen but look into the ingredients! And try to skip makeup as often as possible. Don’t pick your blemishes and try to keep your fingers away from your face! And please don’t try out so many different products! Stick to a natural moisturiser, a non stripping cleanser (only cleanse in the evening) and a spf50. Less is more!!!
I have combo/oily skin and bought the Pad per your recommendations about a month ago. I use it every night and absolutely love it! I also told my niece about it, they actually sell it in Sephora Spain where she lives and she told me she loves it as well.. thank you for the wonderful videos!!
It's my first week of Accutane/Oratane so glad I find this video and its really helpful so Thank you soo much :) Can't wait to see the result wish me luck xx
The FitGlow Night Lip serum is really good, sticks to the lips without feeling sticky and you don't have to reapply a bunch of times. Also heals and it feels so nice on the lips. Hope that helps.
I've struggled with acne since I was 14 and I begged my dermatologist to put me on Accutane because I saw the wonders it did for my friends, but she said it would be too strong and so I never used it. 10 years later I've managed to get my acne under control with a good skincare routine and healthy lifestyle, and I'm very happy with how my face is doing! But I do still get hormonal flare-ups and some pesky cysts on my back, so it's a work in progress
@@karimamckimmie It really is! I know how awful and debilitating it can be when you have constant aggressive breakouts, so I'm happy to see Accutane has been working for you :) x
I was on acccutane too. I got prescribed for 6 months but my acne was gone by 20 days. I still kept taking it. My skin was perfect. I used lots of acids, retinol, and moisturizer at that time. Few months after i completed i treatment, i got into a little birth control pill issue. I got acne again and i was put back on accutane for 2 months. Now it has been 2 years since. My skin is great. I don't get acne ever.
I was on accutane 4 years ago and could never find a lip balm that kept the dry lips at bay but 3 months ago I went back in accutane and have been using Lansinoh 100% pure lanolin, it’s used for cracked nipples but you can get it from most chemists and I have not had dry lips this time round. It’s brilliant!!
I love your videos! Just started my own Accutane journey and your thoughts/advice are so helpful! I'm 1 month in :D looking forward to more updates on your channel
I am battling the accutane neck acne right now myself. I used to get neck acne before starting accutane but it was never so frequent and far down in the middle of my neck! It was always more along my jaw line and didn't go much further than that. Sadly I'm definitely going through a purge right now at week 3. My chin and around my mouth is the worst broken out, with the deep painful cystic bumps. Another thing I've noticed is every pore on my nose and inner cheeks are packed with blackheads. However... The oiliness is definitely gone and my skin feels like it's getting smoother in areas where it's not purging.
Hi love your videos! Just wondering if you are still making an updated video for your accutane journey. I just started mine and, would love to see a day to day makeup routine or tips for wearing makeup X
Can't be sure what is happening with yout hair but make sure you have your protein moisture balance in check (youtube search that if you are lost) to prevent further breakage if it was breakage you experienced. Also yesstyle has microfibre headbands to stop your hair getting wet when you wash your face 😊
You're so pretty 😍 i like how you document your isotret journey, simple yet concise. This is my favorite isotret diary so far haha. Starting my journey and on my week 1 now. Hope my face will get better. 😔🙏
@@judithlejano8264 it depends on my derma will have a ffup check on my 3rd week as well as my blood test. She said i might take this med for 3 to 6 months. Im on a purging stage too 🥲
Hey girl ! I don't if that's been talked on your channel and if it has, forget about me and do your thing but if not maybe it could be useful to you 🙂 The region of you blemish indicates that you have hormonal acne. I know it because I had excatly the same placement after stopping the pill a few years ago even tho I never had acne before. I recommend you to check Annie Jaffrey channel because she talks a lot about it and give a lot of natural solutions and ressources ! I know friends who took Accutane and had a lot of gut issues afterwards so yeah I just wanted to inform you about that ! Hope that helps Have a lovely week-end 🌸
I have hormonal cystic very painful acne and I’ve already tried everything like literally everything, from very restrictive diet to natural treatments and I’m accepting the fact that maybe I have to go on accutane. So yes sometimes accutane is the only (last) solution ! People usually try other treatments before going on accutane 😙 I’ve been fighting acne for 9 years so it’s my last resort
Hello:) did this treatment 6 times.. and i am 29. every time works wonder and i have litteraly perfect skin, and when i stop, 2 months later we back with acne.. i refuse to do it again, so try to cure it anotherway, today i stop a lot of food (dairy, red meat, eggs..) and i use a full biologique recherche routine and all look almost perfect:)
This was similar to my experience. A month after my acne came back and I had a ton of closed comodones and forehead acne. Last time I had this much forehead acne I was a teenager. I finished my course over a year ago but because of Covid-19 I haven't gone back to my dermatologist. My skin is much oilier than before and I had oily skin to begin with. Sigh, having hormonal acne kind of sucks haha. I think I have accepted it is what it is 😅 Hopefully, I dont have more breakouts when I get married 🤞
@@pearlyMILKtea is really hard feeling, to have constantly bad skin, but i think its need to be fix from inside too ( like tretinoid do..) and we need to stop thinking we can eat all we want, (in my case is dairy, eggs and red meat) eggs make me break out like crazy. and with biologique recherche and really control my acnee now:) till the next big breakout comeback😂
I’ve watched your Chanel for years had no idea you started to get adult / hormonal acne that sucks! I went on roaccutane when I was around 21 best thing I ever did. I’m not 28 and had a bad bout of acne and it was the protein custard I tried. For some reason I’m fine with whey protein powder but can’t have casein protein. Must be something to do with the type of dairy. Anyways just thought I’d share that in case you have protein shakes too :)
I'm in my 9th month and final month on Acutane. Few break outs once in a while tho. Buh I'm a guy and don't use any skin care product throughout my acutane journey. Hoping for the best results soon enough.
My dermatologist asked me to do more 6 months. Let me quote her: "It's simple, if you're still having breakouts after 9 months, then it means we can't stop yet...So we need to do 3 to 6 more months....The full protocol is actually to use roaccutane for 6 to 18 months." . I'm on my 12th month of my usual 40mg acutane per day. I'm gunning for 15 months in all by God's grace!
I am on 80mg! I got on it shortly after your first video. You kind of inspired me to to go ahead with it and am so glad I went for it! My back is currently clear and face is much better!! The purge of all the clogged comedones was very satisfying... I have noticed joint pain and a lot of dryness (of course) and very minor bloody noses! I used to create POOLS of oil and now, my makeup looks so much better and I only have to wash my hair twice a week! I love looking ‘clean.’ I am so glad I am on it and wish I did it sooner (I am 23) but subconsciously can’t wait to get off of it (medication scares me). Also, if you’re on a low-dose, how many months will you be on it? What sunscreens do you use?! :) P.S.-Just now saw the sunscreens! My favorites are the hydro peptide solar defense spf 50, and the Verdio spf 50 Japanese sunscreen! ALSO, Do you watch Dr. Dray here on RUclips?! 😀💐
My dermatologist and I are going to see how it pans out. It might be around 12 months of treatment, which I don't mind so much. Yes I've watched many of Dr Drays videos! She's created some awesome and informative content on Accutane :) x
Keto diet has helped me immensely, I notice a general reduction in inflammation in my body, but most noticeable effects are my skin, especially facial skin, its soft and bouncy and naturally glowy x
Hey! It is so nice to follow your accutane yourney. I am from Amsterdam, we call the roaccutane here. My skin was similar to you, my dermatologist said it was hormonal acne and I am on a dosis of 30mg a day (and I am tall so that is a low dosis too). Are you aware of the 'minimal dosis' of 120mg per kg body weight? My dermatologist uses a different approach: when my skin is clear (which is now), than another 2 months of accutane. But I am afraid that the acne will come back, because on the internet I find so many people who reach the minimal dosis of 120mg per kg body weight. I am really curious if some people have other experiences with this! Let me know!
Hi. I have just started taking reaccutane. And it’s 120/150mg per kg. I am 66kg. So you do 66kg x 150mg=9,900mg in total I need to use of this medication. It’s accumulative dose. Dermatologist told me to take 40mg daily. So you multiply 40mg x 30 days=1200mg a month. So all in all I need to take it 8 and a half months.
Please do try to reach a *cumulative* amount of the drug. Your derm is gonna take care of you, I am sure. I am just sayin' ..... I was on it twice. First time I think the dosage was ever so slightly off.
Love your videos, was happy when i saw that you posted 🤗 i am also with iso...dr. needed to put me on down dosis(10 mg) bescause from (20mg) i was getting to high cholesterol.. zo weerd cause i never had that problem and also i eat healthy. But i am happy with my skin already since week 4 i dont get breakouts 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️
I’m also on low-dose accurate and the biggest change I noticed was in my oil production. I used to have super oily skin and am now in the combination range (normal on a good day). I use the Cerave Moisturizing Cream twice a day and it’s the only thing that helps me with dryness and flaking. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this but my skin now can’t stand foundation - it settles around my pores and looks horrible!! I’ve also experienced eye and lip dryness, and joint pain.
Hi!! I love your videos! Before I started accutane it got me so excited to see your progress :) I was wondering if you used anything to fade hyperpigmentation from spots while on accutane? I see you used Laniege Radian-C and Pai rose hip oil, did you notice either or both helping heal older spots quicker?
I just started accutane and I’m starting with a 40 mg and omg I’m dying these headache are really bad to the point that I’m in room in the dark most of the time for the past week 😣 I’m really nauseous and dizzy sometimes I’m thinking of calling the doc 😩
I had super acne even on my back and dark black spots on my face but after using this medication for an year or so years ago now my skin is completely clear. I have very light scars left but nothing make up cant cover but all those dark spots n acne are gone! But i must tell u that even now after so many years i have dry skin and dry mouth so u have to live with that but its better than acne lol
I started a different medication which had the same effect (deep, incessant cystic acne around the jawline), and I found that La Roche Posay's Effeclar K+ is the only thing that can prevent it (mostly). They have another variety with niacinamide but I can't use that because I'm terribly sensitive to it. I would Highly Recommend trying this
I’m about to start Accutane. I’m 40 and I’ve had acne/oily skin my entire adult life. Nothing works, I’ve tried everything! Spironolactone, birth control, topical retin A, etc. super nervous about Accutane, but the mask/pandemic has caused such a terrible condition for my face & neck. Any tips are appreciated.
I also got a crazy, intense reaction to coming OFF the pill. I know with accutane they take birth control very serious - did you have to go back on the pill? I’m nervous the cycle would repeat for me if so! xo
Hey Karima! My derm has recommended I go on accurate but am 33 so trying to figure out how long the treatment may take... how long was your total treatment time? Thank you so much. Also, your videos are amazing and you make me happy hah
Isn’t accutane just tretinoin, but pill form?? To me it doesn’t seem that strange that it’s softening your fine lines since it’s basically vitamin a but idk I could wrong? Anyways, when I was on accutane I was 15 and my poor lips were NOT okay lol
Did you get botox or fillers at some point between week 14 and 16? There's a difference to your face; it looks less flexible and a little stiff in the week 16 section.
I am on month 4 currently. I'm so nervous it'll come back, I have oily acne prone skin. Anyone else have post accutane good results with oily acne prone skin?
Apologies if I missed it (loud children running around) but did you get any waxes while on accutane? I’m currently a month in and realised I’m due a wax but I don’t want to burn but also don’t want to shave
I'm 17yr old (high school student), I've been suffering from acne for almost 4 years now, it really affected my lifestyle and appearance. Acne changed my personality, Acne destroyed me, I've been fighting against it for such a long time using various of products and none of them worked. I visited a dermatologist 2 months ago (first time in 4 years) and he prescribed me some medications including Isotretinoin (Roaccutane). I had no clue whatsoever about this capsule nor about its side effects. I'm currently on my second month with this capsule, although I stopped using Isotretinoin for a week after my first *box* was finished, it didn't take long (2days) before my skin completely changed its path in an unimagineable way, I started getting the worse acne I could think of but thankfully I visited another dermatologist and she treated and currently does as her son, I did some blood tests and was given the green flag to continue with Accutane. I'm currently on low doses 10mg during Moday-Friday and 20mg during weekends, the side effects are slight and hopefully there will be more improvement upon my skin. Note: Pretty sure you've heard of it already but I'm just reminding you to drink lots of water, I mean alot!!

WILD! I thought I was seeing things! 😂
80mg 😮....i'm on the 10th month of 40mg Accutane.
Headache and skin burn is my biggest challenge
Really beautifully composed, thoughtful, and thorough video. Thank you for sharing and for your hard work!

I have tried so many different medications and treatments for my acne over the years and I am about to start on accutane in a few days I have watched so many videos and reading up about accutane and I just wanted to let you know all your videos on this have been so helpful and really exciting/encouraging to think there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I just wanted to say thank you ❤️
Did you finish treatment? How’d it go?
I have struggled with acne for 5 years when I turned 20
Never been on birth control and figured my diet was the problem went dairy free then vegan then raw vegan all have brought me to the point of desperation to start accutane.
When it comes to lip balm, I highly recommend pure lanoline. It's just as thick and moisturising as the Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask but is SO MUCH CHEAPER.
ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Not enough people know about this or talk about this!!!
Did the accutane cause the IBS?
@@MissMichixo hard to know if it was what caused the general IBS I’ve had the last few years because it’s something that you can develop at any point in life, however, I am sure the post traumatic IBS (which lasted a few weeks) I experienced when I got the stomach bug while on accutane was caused by the accutane. The mucous membranes of my lower digestive tract just could not protect themselves from trauma during the stomach bug or repair themselves very well while dried out from the accutane.
I'm so happy to find your videos, I'm entering the first week and your videos are giving me a HUGE incentive!!! Thank you!!!
Hey can i have your instagram id or any social media connection so that i can talk to you ..... 😢
Sounds like we're on a similar journey! 😘
What dosage were u in?
I took a low dose of accutane (the full dosage was based on my weight) during my mid 20s, I saw the best skin during the treatment and saw immediate results. I didn’t get any flare ups, I just experienced tight lips, and dry eyes and dry stool. After the first month my dermatologist said I looked like a porcelain doll. After my dosage fulfillment I did experience acne after that but it was very less severe, and did a second treatment. It has healed my skin, I don’t get cystic acne anymore and I’m in my 30s I have maintained the condition of my skin with facials etc
Do you go back on a topical after like Trentinoin?
i'm currently at the tail end of accutane now and Weleda Skin Food is legit my saviour. Whenever something is flaring up. Weleda. Lip prep before bed. Weleda. a literal god send for night time repair
I've heard Skin Food being recommended by MANY people on Accutane! I'll pick up a tube asap 🥳
I was on low dose accutane last year, the smooth texture has stayed atleast for me 🥰
Fingers crossed! Sounds amazing! 🤞🏻
I just finished my secound round of isotretinoin (first round was when I was 18 so 6 years ago). So happy with the results and my mental health!!

#1 I get acne rarely
#2 I am still dry EVERYWHERE
#3 I have digestive issues I didn't have before Accutane but I'm not positive they are from Accutane even though I think they are related
Just an FYI for everyone to be aware of that it is a serious drug with lasting effects that aren't all positive.
You are GLOWING!!!!
Tretinoin is sooo good for anti-aging, so I imagine taking it orally is even mor effective. Your skin looks so good 😭💕

Heyy share your results
Skin is definitely a work in progress 😘 x

How did it go ?
I am battling the accutane neck acne right now myself. I used to get neck acne before starting accutane but it was never so frequent and far down in the middle of my neck! It was always more along my jaw line and didn't go much further than that. Sadly I'm definitely going through a purge right now at week 3. My chin and around my mouth is the worst broken out, with the deep painful cystic bumps. Another thing I've noticed is every pore on my nose and inner cheeks are packed with blackheads. However...
The oiliness is definitely gone and my skin feels like it's getting smoother in areas where it's not purging.

Hello:) did this treatment 6 times.. and i am 29.
every time works wonder and i have litteraly perfect skin, and when i stop, 2 months later we back with acne.. i refuse to do it again, so try to cure it anotherway, today i stop a lot of food (dairy, red meat, eggs..)
and i use a full biologique recherche routine and all look almost perfect:)
Hoping for the best results soon enough.
update?:)
My dermatologist asked me to do more 6 months. Let me quote her: "It's simple, if you're still having breakouts after 9 months, then it means we can't stop yet...So we need to do 3 to 6 more months....The full protocol is actually to use roaccutane for 6 to 18 months."

Your lashes also look fuller!

How do you get rid of hair on your face when on this treatment 😭
I also got a crazy, intense reaction to coming OFF the pill. I know with accutane they take birth control very serious - did you have to go back on the pill? I’m nervous the cycle would repeat for me if so! xo

I am taking oratane as well. Thank you for your sharing! How do you deal with those purging acne? Do you apply any acne treatment product?
Did you get botox or fillers at some point between week 14 and 16? There's a difference to your face; it looks less flexible and a little stiff in the week 16 section.
No lol. All our faces fluctuate somewhat because we are human.
Note: Pretty sure you've heard of it already but I'm just reminding you to drink lots of water, I mean alot!!
do not DO NOT use the exfoliating stuff if youre not on the LOW LOW doses you will crack and BLEED
