    Ingredients:
    4 4oz Mahi Mahi filets
    3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    salt (to taste)
    black pepper (to taste)
    Lemon Garlic Sauce
    3 tbsp salted butter (softened)
    2 tbsp garlic (minced)
    1 tbsp lemon juice
    1 1/2 tbsp lemon peel (grated)
    1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
    1 tbsp fresh chives (chopped)
    kosher salt (pinch)
    black pepper (pinch)
    Instructions:
    1. Preheat the oven to 375F. Pat dry any excess moisture off the fish fillet with paper towels until they are as dry as possible then sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper and set aside.
    2. Then, prepare the lemon garlic mixture. In a small saucepan on low heat, combine all of the lemon garlic mixture ingredients and set aside.
    3. In a large skillet on high heat, add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the fish fillets to the pan and sear for about 3 minutes on one side then flip. Place the fish in a baking dish and roast for about 4-5 minutes. Pour the lemon garlic mixture over the cooked fish. Serve with extra lemon slices and fresh parsley.

    I tried it exactly how you said...definitely overcooked the fish....but I used a cast iron pan so that may have been the issue

      With a fish that thinly sliced I think it would have been perfect without the oven time

    Awhile ago, I noticed six fish in a row at Ports of Call California-the seller tried convincing me, to try this delicatessen, "that the palate of your mouth feels the savory taste. It looks scrims hews but looks can be disheveling. But, look at the pictures, it looks classy. Lisa

    Olive oil is the worst oil to fry in. It has a low smoke point. Follow your own advice and don’t move the fish around once you put it in the pan.

    • @ihopeyouheal

      They have different types of olive oil for different cooking methods

    • @shawnm291
      @shawnm291 5 месяцев назад +2

      Or you could just not use olive oil at all. ALL olive oil has a lower smoke point than many other choices of oils.

      Is olive oil safe for pan frying?
      Olive oil made up of mostly monounsaturated fat (about 75%) which helps stabilize it and stand up to higher heat. The smoke point of olive oil is 410 °F (210 °C), which is ideal and safe for frying.

    • @orionshockley9344
      @orionshockley9344 Год назад

      Regular salt with iodine can put a flavor on food that throws it off. Most chefs around the world, if not all, use kosher salt because of this.

      @@orionshockley9344 They don't use kosher salt in Europe and food there tastes just fine... It's a tax on our food in Aamerica, mostly, all other countries don't pay Orthodox Unions or the like to certify food and their food tastes just as good and is just as healthy...

      @jay23cr ahh yes, Maldon sea salt. They don't add iodine to it. I imagine that would taste just as good as kosher salt.

      Larger grains are easier to see and add some crunch but that’s all. An equal weight of sea salt is just as good. Skip paying the rabbis.

      Kosher salt is like a lightest and softest flavor and has more diferent minerals, table salt has too much sodium and if you add too much you can ruin the dish
