We've been wanting an interview like this from you Gawx for a long time! Thank you for willingly sharing your secrets and ways with us. I look forward to watching your first feature film and everything else leading up to it! Would love to see more vlog/bts content too if you are willing. God bless !
Gawx's skillset could be a whole college degree: Illustration, Studio Art, Digital Media, Cinematography, Sound Design, Visual Storytelling, Video Editing, Marketing, Fashion Design, etc. He's BY FAR, the most impressive multimedia artist I've ever had the pleasure of watching on RUclips. He's going to be held in the same esteem as the likes of Takashi Murakami and KAWS one day. I can't wait to see what he does in the future!
Gawx just doesn’t understand how many people he’s inspired. This kid’s got a bright future. If he’s doing all this out of his bedroom, I can’t wait to see what he does in a ‘professional’ setting
Gaux is a great example of a person letting the “art” lead the way. He knows what he likes but isn’t worried about the science behind it. No histograms, no metering, just a hard working creative individual who nails the look! Awesome!
Such a humble genius. So young, but he's definitely one of the biggest influences in the online film world. So many have tried to recreate his shots and his style it's actually wild. Not to mention the many people that are starting their journey into the world of cinematography now, most always start their journey watching Gawx videos.
Also the Serr shout out is important! Lol I knew he'd mention him. Serr is also where everyone into that filmic look start off at. He's truly helped out SO much in the world of color grading.
Jack your conversations have become my film school, these are some of the most compelling interviews / deconstructions. First watch is for fun, second is for notes.
It's like talking to the actor, the director, the producer, the camera operator , the photographer, the sound engineer,... at the same time. Everything he said is so well described and detailed, he is so will to expose all his secrets.
This is not only a dope series. What really makes it for me is the authentic excitement and interest of the host. The way he really asks about every detail and geeks out over it. Really love that.
This is SO SICK, there are even more tricks than I could have imagined. Hats off to Gawx and his family for creating some of the best videos on RUclips
It’s so refreshing to know that the guy who makes the best looking videos on RUclips does not use histograms/waveforms or follow any of the rules that other creators force down our throats ..I needed to hear this. Thanks Gawx! Ur a true inspiration
The thing I love about your videos with these creators is that you literally stop and ask ALL of the questions that I have in my head and give ALL the same praises that I wish I could give to them. Every single question I am curious about you ask no matter how often you have to stop the video. I first came across your channel with your Natalie Lynn video and saw a comment complaining about how much you stop the video, but please NEVER change! The questions you ask and the follow ups these questions lead to are INVALUABLE to viewers like me! Every single video, I feel like I'm getting access to a masterclass, and it's all FOR FREE! You're a LEGEND!
it is so touching that his family helps him a lot with the videos, it shows that they care about his craft and are willing to see (and help) him grow as someone who don't have that much of incentive from my family, it makes me very happy to see that there are families that make sure to support their creative children :"")
29:00 is SO funny hahaha. I still remember when these videos came out, and I was in a bunch of film forums and so many people were discussing how he does his marker shots. It's so hilarious hearing him explain what we sat around trying to figure out for days LOL. I still remember someone called it perfectly and explained how he also does those shots where he toses the marker up.
I came across this channel today, and I must say that the host is probably the best interviewer in the world, literally. Man, I love how you are specific to the core with your questions and supplementing everything with lower third notes, pictures and all reference materials anyone could imagine. Very much love from Kenya. I bet I gotta grab some snacks and kick off from the first video. See you later guys. I got a bunch of content to watch. Much love from Kenya, East Africa. Big up to GAWAX!
the way his mind works is so incredible, he's so talented and hardworking it's mindblowing really, not to mention the amount of patience and determination he has to actually finish videos!
You missed noticing his eye lightening up at the beginning when he opened the door to get the package 📦 at his door .. Gawx is great he has inspired me for long
This is called RAW TALENT... Dude has no real idea about all the politically correct mumbo jumbo. He just knows art, and creativity. Its like a person who can just hear a song, pick up an instrument and play it. Dude uses his eyes and his own opinions on what he believes looks good... Respect 🙏🏿
Thank you soo much for such an informative video with @GawxArt; I have got couple of hesitations about my photography style, their colour correction/grading etc. and I always wonder what his video shooting workflow/process is. Because his videos esp. in his 2nd channel Gawx2 have inspired me so deeply, the colour grading, theme of the videos and the music chooses are like jigsaw puzzle, complementary for each other. These stuffs reminded me that I have got lots stuff that I wanna say by my photos. That is why I am back to retake some photos and put something from myself. Thanks again…
This is the perfect example of giving a person their flowers the attention to detail you did in this vid highlighting almost every shot and letting @gawx explain his process is amazing thank you for doing this with the man himself !
watching this was huge for helping me understand how to start taking these directions. Love Gawxs art and Videos but the excitement u show talking to him about it was nice to see. Could tell how much you love the art of cinematography
As a follower of Gawx from Turkey, I can't tell you how happy I am with this video. because gawx is a great source of inspiration for me and I am very happy that he shared his video making process in this way. thank you for this video. 🙏🏻
dude I love how relatable the self taught explanations are- 'uh yeah I don't use histograms I get confused I kinda just adjust until it looks good' THIS IS THE FUTURE OF THE CREATIVE WORKFORCE I STG hahaha
I really like the format of the interview. It feels really natural and organic, sort of improvised at some points. It gives a lot of natural effect to it, its like a podcast + tutorial 2.0 kind of mix ! We get to know the subject, and to learn from the timeline at the same time. BRAVO! (The quality of the creators you bring to the show makes it easier)
You can see how excited he is to talk about his work with a person that really understands and appreciates all the small details he's put into it. Such a cool thing to watch. Most of us won't ever be so driven like this young man. ❤
I felt like Jack was speaking my words, like if I would have met gwax in person I would also have showed that much of enthusiasm! He's literally an ocean of Creativeness
I think that this kind of humble and sincere analysis with the artist himself (huge one, maybe, the most huge young artist in 2020s) brings a lot of faith to beginner artists in themselves.
This guy is really amazing. I thought he used some high-end equipment and high technology, but I didn't expect to create excellent works with ordinary things and learn from them.
Man, I love this video. You are not afraid to ask really basic questions to help the audience REALLY understand what is going on. Also the little sidenotes are very helpful every time a professional wording comes up. Keep up the good work!
That first shot has a very Guy Ritchie feel. Snatch or Lock Stock. Love it cuz I have all these ideas in my head just learning now how to put it on film. Gaux is a beast
a beautiful example of the fact that you don''t need all the pro equipment. you just need to have an imagination for improvisation. very nice person, that Gawx
I remember watching one of his videos 2 years ago and I was like how is this a RUclips video?? Too much attention to detail....Gawx my favorite RUclipsr ❤🎉
He knows imperfection so well and he piggybacks back and forth just to make it worth the shot. That's just how his extra mile motivation to finish what he started gives me chills.
MMMMM this guy is genius, i had a lot of questions in my mind when i first watched him but thanks for the interview he has explained most of my questions.
God bless Gawx. I cant believe that he's so open to share his craft like that. Some youtubers cant even share how they do some transitions only to notice that they are some free PP aftereffects.
I remember discovering Gawx and just being ABSOLUTELY mind blown. Everything he does is executed with the finesse of a truly experienced professional. He deserves LOTSA success.
it's so nice to listen to gawx's answers. the joy he takes in explaining the processes gives you an idea of how much fun he has with his projects. such a valuable interview. thank you!
Just the video I’ve been searching for! Thank you so much for this detailed breakdown! I love how exited and involved the interviewer was with his questions! This is my 1st video on this channel and just subscribed!
@22:00 I think a lot of what makes it feel like time has passed its that it looks like some of the shots have "cold" lighting and the others have "warmer" lighting. Almost sugesting passing through the seasons. (Winter, spring, summer etc..)
You know who's the unsung hero behind Gawx's work? Gawx Dad. I wish I have such supportive dad who shares the same vision while being able to have fun with Gawx in the process. Well done Gawx Dad!
What a cool video! I have never seen a Digital Spaghetti video before but this was an awesome video to start with. Ironically, that gawx video is the only one I have ever seen, so it was cool to get a window into his brain!

Wow, this is so informative. Big fan of Gawx here, and I always had so many questions about his workflow. His video and editing skills are so impressive and it's very useful to know how he achieve some of these effects. Great video!
Wow. I didn't know about this channel, but as many other people I'm an addict to Pomplamoose's studio Shorts, so I was already a fan of Jack. It's really great to see how passionate and genuinely interested into Gawx work he is, and how he literally makes the exact questions that many of us would love to do. And Gawx openly answering them, sharing all that knowledge and staying humble. Great content, thank you for sharing it!
Absolutely love this! Just taking a fraction of his talent with camera work and editing can make a dramatic difference. Awesome to finally get a glimpse behind the scenes!
All the youtube gurus out there telling people to not edit much and just make simple videos but Gawx showing everyone it's possible to make art on this platform. Bravo
These "deep dive" videos are awesome. So helpful for anyone, even those who have very humble video aspirations. Worlds have collided- heard about Patreon from Bourbon Moth Woodworking months ago and now I stumble onto great video tutorials from the CEO. Amazing what happens when you explore.
Wow that was whole crash course on filming. I recently discovered @GawxArt and instantly he become my inspiration and now I just binge-watch his all videos. Thank you Gawx for making videos and adding that much amount of work in your videos. And thank you Jack for bringing him on your channel and asking the exact question we were questioning. It was fun watching the whole video, took some notes too.
I absolutely adore how Jack gets genuinely excited during the whole breakdown, it’s contagious, literally got me smiling from start to finish. Gawx, you’re inspiring the world !
Gawx has got to be the most engaging and most likable person on RUclips! Thanks for this amazing insight into the creator behind the creations we all adore!

We love Gawx! such a talented filmmaker
Bro gawx is the goat of RUclips cinema🤷🏽♂️🐐
Very interesting artist (I love Gawx's videos), and great interview.
His Dad must be really proud of him...❤💪
Wow that was whole crash course on filming.
The excitement between both of you during this is contagious. So inspired.
wait what he's such a good drawer and doesnt do storyboarding? :O I think his storyboard would look amazing!
first 40 minutes video of youtube that i actually watch till the end. Simply amazing.
I'm a fan of Gawx since I don't know when. But It's so good to see the evolution of his videos.
I had no idea who Gawx is, breaking down his workflow and cinematic choices is so insightful!
Thank you Jack Conte! For making this video possible!! Gawx is one of my favorite filmmakers!
Please do Danny Gevirtz next!
great video, but i cant be the only who repeatedly watched gawx videos to know all of this stuff already. Man puts so much effort in every single second its mind blowing
Is it just me, or did this interview feel like it could have been just a little bit longer? It was THAT GOOD!!!
