As a Dark Elf, every sarcastic and offensive comment from the Stormcloaks ((Or really the "Skyrim belongs to the Nords" individuals)) doesn't bode well. Ended up siding with the Empire in the end.
The only thing I regret about that decision, is that Ralof was a Stormcloak, and.... he's a good man.
ETPS I see your point. But if you look at the history of the older scrolls, the imperials have been very racist in the past as well, and I really don’t blame the new words for wanting their land for themselves. Even though they got it from the snow elves the snow off’s are gone and they conquered it fair and square these refugees coming in or tolerate and I would blame that they could pull themselves out of that poverty with enough effort as the slave population did in the Americas. The north could do to be less racist but the Elves are in their land, by the way I usually play is a wood elf

This war broke out because the Empire lost the other by yielding to the enemy. The Empire is doing nothing while the Altmer grow stronger. And the Empire already lost the last war, so why would they win the next? It's not looking good for both sides, but atleast we're actively fighting against our oppressors, while some of you keep kissing their boots and just sit around, waiting for the next inevitable war.
Trust me, I would love to fight alongside the Empire and I do believe it's stronger, but I simply don't believe that waiting for the right time, or whatever you're planning on doing, is going to help anyone.
And I believe Ulfric never planned to attack Cyrodiil, he only wanted to take Skyrim "back".
I can't stand for racism, not in videogames either, so I did end up siding with the Empire. But only under the pretense of joining. I was hoping there'd be a questline later on where I could murder the higher-ups and basically reform and unite everyone. Sadly, Skyrim didn't go that far.
Elder scrolls did a great job on their songs for Skyrim, 5 stars.

Spyronite913 The Empire attacked the Brotherhood only because Astrid sold you to them, i sided with the Empire in the end, it's the better choice for Skyrim, otherwise the Thalmor will subjugate everyone.

'We're the children of Skyrim' part in the Agression song is actually true!! Age of Agression isn't an Imperial song and Opression isn't a 'nord' song. They are both nord songs, only agression is for those who side with the empire. They are literally the children of Skyrim, because they are nords.

Technically, yes. The Orsimer were first. They were first, but they were pretty much a moving race, so they didn't stay long. I think the Falmer kicked them out.

ulfric stormcloak are the right High king of skyrim but i find that the imperiels and the stormcloaks fight versus (v.s) the Thalmor
If only there were a third way... Not choosing to side with the Empire or the Stormcloaks but instead everyone unite under the banner of the Dragonborn to storm and drive out the Thalmor...

the Empire is playing diplomacy and undercover tactics, building its power and stuff, while the rebellion in Skyrim would weaken them even more.

@@smokingunstudios6474 same. I much more align with stormcloaks but neither stormcloaks or imperials are fully good/bad. The main threat is the thalmor, who literally see themselves as superior and wish to exterminate every race that isn't altmer

@@aaron8342 Tullius has zero honour. He was more than happy to execute innocent people because they were seen near Stormcloak rebels. Ironically, that convinced me to join the Stormcloak rebellion in the end so Tullius reaps what he sows. I didn't actually kill him though, only Ulfric, the true High King has that privilege in my eyes.

For the whole of my first play through I only heard age of aggression and never age of oppression, I always wondered why there wasn't a storm cloke song

***** Considering the Aldmeri Dominion's track record, I don't blame Ulfric for harboring a deep hatred of mer. Personally, I find it quite warranted. Besides, what Empire do you have? Your emperor is dead, and the way the Thalmor use the Legion, they make it look like the biggest toolbox since Lorkhan used the et'Ada to create Mundus. I would know... I was there.
Considering the Stormcloak Rebellion is essentially the Skyrim White Supremacy movement, you made the right call.
Now, hear me out for a moment.
As easy as it is to understand the hatred Ulfric has for the Thalmor, and for the Empire for agreeing to their terms, it doesn't stop there. The Dunmer in Windhelm are relegated to the most decaying section of the city and offered no assistance from their Jarl. Now, remember that the Aldmeri Dominion is made up almost exclusively of Altmer. The Bosmer of The Green Pact don't agree with them, and most of the Dunmer people are too busy trying to rebuild after the eruption of Red Mountain to pick a side.
Khajiit are seen to be nothing more than gypsy thieves, and are not allowed inside the Hold cities.
Argonians are only allowed to work and live on the docks of Windhelm, not within the actual city.
Both races are seen as little more than Criminals and Drug addicts.
Orcs are seen as nothing more than savages by the Stormcloaks, while they have found gainful employment as smiths and quartermasters for The Imperial Legion.
While nothing has been explicitly said by Ulfric or his Stormcloaks about Redguard or Bretons, the Imperial Race is detested by default.
Think about it. What is the rallying cry of The Stormcloaks? "Skyrim is for THE NORDS!" They aren't just trying to drive out the empire, as their version of the folk song suggests, they want to cleanse Skyrim of any Non-Nords just like Ysgramor did ages past.
The Legion just wants stability. Signing the White-Gold Concordat was just a way for Emperor Titus Mede II to stop the unnecessary death of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Imperial Subjects across Tamriel. Remember, it isn't the Empire restricting the worship of Talos (aka Tiber Septim, the founder of the Empire as we know it), but the Aldmeri Dominion.

I think both side are correctly. The Empire just wants the peace, the best for Skyrim, but they do this oppressing their people. They could not arrest anyone, but they do for Talos Worshipping. The Stormcloaks just want to be free, to worship who they wants and to be free of the dying Empire, which is true, especially with Titus Mede II's death. They both fight for what's right. They both fight for the good of Skyrim. Both want to kick the Thalmor out. The Empire wants to get stronger alongside Skyrim, High Rock and Orsinium, not to mention Cirodill. to do them war a Second Time. The Stormcloaks want to be free and get allies like Hammerfell, Morrowind thanks to the Dovahkiin, maybe even Black Marsh or Valenwood, since they wanna kick the Thalmor too, but don't have the forces to do it.

I think you misunderstanded me, when i said 'Skyrim wouldn't put a fight' i meant that Skyrim wouldn't have a chance to stop the Thalmor when they declare the war, it's obvious that they will attack Skyrim if the Stormcloacks win the civil war. Because they will be weaker than ever, even worse than the Empire, if they want to drive the Thalmor back, the Empire has the best shot, that's why they have to win the civil war. It's well known, divide and conquer, they need to stand together.

Also, I don't think any male singers have covered any of the two versions of this song, oppression or aggression.

(sono la cantante) Ciao ti ringrazio per i complimenti :) ti rispondo subito, avevo pensato di fare anche queste canzoni in italiano, ma la versione italiana, appunto, a mio parere è stata tradotta male per quanto riguarda la metrica. La traduzione di per sé era ottima ma non si adeguava bene alla musica, non so se mi spiego :) sarebbe venuta male, a mio parere..

The stormcloaks have the right of it, but with skyrim liberated the empire has only cyrodiil, high rock, (and i believe morrowind)
Perhaps if the empire were dissolved and reformed (including hammerfall) the thalmor could be defeated, but it seems unlikely with humans divided.
Spoiler alert: Ulfrik works for the Thalmor, your Stormcloaks are digging the graves for all humans on Tamriel.
