@@Los_Sensacionales by all means Anakin has been betrayed by the council multiple times. The fact that they openly dont trust them, they let Anakin on the council but wont make him master, they dont tell Anakin about the secret mission of obi-wan where he has to fake his death making Anakin believe for a really long time he was really dead. Betrayal is an point of view. In the eyes of Anakin the jedi were the ones who betrayed him because Palpatine got in Anakins head and said so. Anakin turned for Padme but he stayed because he let himself believe the Jedi were truly after the power of the senate and not true peace.

And it ends on a somber note cruel and cold like winds on the sea will you ever return to me? And of course Davy jones eventually runs into Calypso again in pirates of the Caribbean
Davy Jones 100% needs his own movie where he falls in love with Calypso, and looks after those who died at sea for 10 years and then at the end of the movie we see him happily waiting for Calypso, but she doesn’t show and then we see him scream in anger as the sun sets and break down in tears. That would be the most depressing movie ever and I want- no… I NEED TO SEE IT!
Disney currently is on a mission to ruin every beautiful character so as much as I adore his character..... It's better to be left like this without ruinning it.... Just a masterpiece no need to ruin it
Davy jones and calypso's relationship is so much more complicated than that, unfortunately, the reality is that some beautiful love stories are meant to end tragically.
Beginning We see that Davy Jones was just a boy who lived close to the coast. He was the son of a lowly metal worker, but he was never truly interested into the craft, he was much more interested in music and poetry. Whenever his father gets drunk and scolds him, he would hide at the beach; the sound of the unending waves had always brought a sense of peace to Davy Jones. He loved the ocean, its beautiful sound, its infinite combinations of waves crashing into one another, unpredictable yet mysteriously beautiful, like a woman. The goddess of the sea, Calypso was touched by the boy's pureness and love, she then transformed into a human girl to meet with the boy. The two fell in love very quickly, and Davy had learnt enough from his father to have made two matching music boxes; one for himself and one for his one and only love. The Attack Until one day, the pirates attacked Davy Jones' village and his home was burnt to the ground. his family and friends butchered before his eyes. Davy, having very nearly escaped death, drifted into the ocean on a wooden debris, dying from his wound and dehydration, he was approached by Calypso. The Contract "Do you fear death?" Calypso asked Davy, as an immortal goddess, the concept of death has always fascinated her. Delirious and thought it was a hallucination from dehydration, Davy Jones did not question how Calypso, his love appeared to him in the middle of the ocean. yet, he answered "I fear the thought of never meeting you again." "You can be with me, always" Calypso told Davy, "if you would serve as my captain, my guide to the souls who are lost at sea." Calypso also told Davy Jones that if he accepts, he would be to be able to only set foot on land once every ten years; for the magic to remain unbroken. Davy Jones agreed. Ten years, he devoted himself to the duty he was charged with. Ten years, he looked after those who died at sea. Finally, when they could be together again; Calypso was not there to meet him. It was true, Calypso loved Davy Jones, as a mortal. Now that he had completely devoted himself and became cursed, Calypso no longer found Davy Jones fascinating nor beautiful. It is then, Calypso realised that " a thing is beautiful not because it lasts. A candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long, and Davy Jones was once a beautiful boy who was pure and knew not fear and death. And now Calypso see something that reminds her of herself, an immortal who had no purpose in life nor have the freedom to act as they pleased. She had corrupted him, and she could not live to see him again, for it pains her heart to see what he had become. Davy Jones waited on the promised island. He waited and waited, until he realised that Calypso was not coming... The Rage Outraged. Davy Jones cursed Calypso and renounces her contract, her love and her. It caused him to become cursed, and his body underwent drastic changes as punishment for breaking the contract between him and Calypso. He then sought the pirates to bind Calypso into her human form. This time for good. The Silent Tear After it was done, Davy Jones felt nothing. He was hollow inside, his love betrayed him and locking Calypso in her human form did not fill the void she left behind. Life was indeed cruel, when revenge did not bring him peace and his love did not bring him reciprocation. Filled with relentless hate, love, rage and sorrow, Davy Jones cut out his heart and locked it in a chest along with all the love letters and poetry he had given her. The man who Davy Jones was had died, now he was left a husk, a monster that knew not love or pain, a being that was both alive and dead. As he closed the chest, he realised that there was one item missing, and it was the music box he had in his pocket. Davy Jones took it out and let the music play; as soon as the music played; memories of their love danced into his mind, and brought Davy Jones to tears. He could not let go of the box and kept it on him on all times, as a token of what once was. He shall bear this pain for eternity and remember the times they were together, for it was the only thing he had left that made him feel "human". An untainted memory, a remembrance of the life that Davy Jones once had which brought him the only peace he had known.
@@just_a_random_person Thank you, i always thought theres a deeper , tragic story with Davy Jones, and this is my headcanon. Also when Davy Jones died being embraced by the ocean, to him, it felt like he was finay being embraced and accepted by his true love which was beautiful. Perhaps at that time he wasn't angry at Calypso anymore, he was content just being embraced by his beloved one last time, he has been tired of being a monster for too long
@@wayneweisensee7722 Precisely. I think it should be how he makes a comeback as evident in the end credit scene of Dead Men Tell No Tales but also focuses on his origins as well.

@@reneylbaculpo3967 Not true. If someone you love is causing pain, rethink that relationship. Being in love should never mean pain will come. Unless that person dies or leaves you. To which, if they leave, you need to learn to get over that. So tired of people, no sorry, men, thinking there has to be pain in love. Great way to end up single with that logic.
Heard a saying the other day that’s perfect for his character “There is no such thing as a villain… There are only victims Those who rise above there anger and hatred for being mistreated and grow we call heroes Those who don’t…..who stay in there state of hatred who become consumed by it and vow to never feel again…… We call villains…… And there story’s are tragedies…..”
Poor English aside, yes... A villain is merely a victim of their world; someone who doesn't have the power to rise above their own hatred, but enough to cast it upon others... Every broken man was broken for a reason. We can only hope they find salvation before their sins become inexcusable...
Some people are just evil for the sake of it and a tragic backstory doesn't really change that they're still evil. There's good tragic villains for sure, but it says something when most of the best villains are just evil to be evil.
This really does characterize Jones perfectly. He is a vengeful man who gave up his humanity for a woman who just played and used him. But he still has love for her, just hatred love. And this song just incapsulates all of Jones’ motives and feelings. And I love it
This is the best cover of the song that I've found. Really capturing the melancholy that Davey feels for her through a lullaby, while also caputring his rage and fury with that organ, followed by stronger sounding vocals.
Clint Eastwood well that brings up a really interesting philosophical question. Because your right! If the movie was written from the perspective of Davy Jones it could have easily been a story about him heroically trying to find his lost love. But taking two steps back you start to realize everyone in those movies acts selfishly and tries by any means necessary to obtain thier goal. So what makes a villain a villain? Because you can easily flip the narrative on any good story and make it to Where the “ bad guy” and “good guy” are interchangeable.
The literal heartbeat in this song is so amazing. If you listen closely the dun dun, dun dun sounds like a heartbeat. It starts when Jones starts playing the organ.
Davy Jones, a pirate that is cruel, but under his cruel nature is a broken man who was cursed for years and just wanted to be reunited with Calypso. Davy Jones will always be one of my favorite villains. 🏴☠️🌊
Many things you were, Davy Jones, but never cruel. You have corrupted your purpose and so yourself and you did hide away what should always have been mine!
He once was a man who's heart was as vast as the ocean he sailed. But he gave it to a woman who could never love him I'm return and it made him into a monster. Tragic beyond words.
"According to legends and lore, the Flying Dutchman was given to Davy Jones by his love, the sea goddess Calypso, who gave Jones the duty of ferrying the souls who died at sea into the next world. After ten years, Jones would be free to come ashore to be with Calypso. But whenever Davy Jones came ashore, Calypso was nowhere to be found. This ultimately resulted in Jones carving out his own heart, and locking it in the Dead Man's Chest." he was just a man who shattered with his love. that turned him to a monster

I still can't consider Davy Jones a true villain. He's the result of how true love could be Selfdesctructive sometimes. One of the most well developped characters Disney has ever created in my opinion.
truly a heart breaking song jones was never an evil man he was betrayed and lashed out in agony at the world for taking the woman he loved truly the perfect villain

It's actually sad. I had a friend who went insane after his parents death. He killed himself a week after. It's horrifying how people can put the perspective of insanity in a movie/book.
Unpopular opinion: instead of POTC 4 and 5 they should have made a Davy Jones & Calypso prequel; it could've taken place over deacades and we could've seen their eventual meetings and dealings with Jack (and even seen the Pearl's origin).

10 years he was charged to a duty. Just to see the person he loved. If that isnt true love i dont know what is. (Also the fact she didnt show up. I feel Davys pain) anyone Else?
Calypso is a sea goddess, she is the sea, therefore she was always with him, ever changing and never the same, he deluded himself for he dedicated himself to a task for the sole purpose of a reward, a selfish way to think of any task that should be done Even though I kind of said bad things against him now, I think he is one of the best villains ever and everyone can relate to him

The sad thing is that Calypso was truly in love with Davy. But at the same time she couldn't help what she is: The sea itself, which is extremely unpredictable.

Davy Jones was not always a terrible tyrant He was just a normal pirate who felt betrayed by the love of his life, the sea. But sadly he hasnt realized that calypso never betrayed him. Calypso is the sea and by breaking her promise she keeps davy on the sea and so on her side for eternity. He was just a human and for that reason He could never understand the actions of a goddess. In the end He died at sea and became one with Calypso.
I think she knew she betrayed him. But it was her nature, free, wild, beautiful, treacherous. I quote: Davy Jones: "... you weren't there. Why weren't you there?" Calipso: "It's my nature. Would you love me if I was anything but what I am?" And the rest is as you say.
He played fiercely on his organ, the sounds echoing and screaming throughout the swaying ship, her voice singing along passionately in his mind, so loud and tangible that it was as if she was there beside him. Their song haunted him; her words even more. He played, as if the song would bring her back. Back to him. His heart belonged to the sea, but the sea could never be contained. She was an eternal force, and mortality could not stop what is ageless. And so he played, because he still loved her, for no matter how many times she broke his heart, his heart would always belong to her, and hers to his. She was the only key that could unlock his cold, detached heart.
Love the story of this character and this song is on my playlist. As a truck driver, I'm home for 3 days a month and hardly get to see my wife and kid, but I love the road. They live well and my hellbound ass stays to the highway.
Davy Jones: "Ten years I devoted to the duty you charged to me. Ten years I looked after those who died at sea. And, finally when we could be together again... you weren't there. Why weren't you there?" Calypso: "It's my nature" still hits me hard TT
"Ten years, I devoted to the duty you charged me. Ten years, I looked after those who died at sea, and finally, when we could be together again, you weren't there. Why weren't you there?" -Davy Jones
Ten years i devoted to the duty she charged of me, ten hears i looked after those who died at sea. And finally, when we could be together again. She. Werent. There. Why werent she there?
Poor Jones. You didn't understand. She was there. Every rolling wave, every rock of the ship, every storm in the sky, every drop of rain; she *is* the Sea. You married the Sea, but you couldn't accept her for what she really was. You wanted her to fit in your needs without considering hers. How much closer could you have been, to sail upon her salty surface for eternity, every spray of mist her palm upon your cheek? Together at all times, she the wild and untamed expanse of waters, you the stoic shepherd of the dead performing a thankless task with only your true love's watery whisper to keep you company? You cut your heart out for her... But you *broke* hers.
Then Jones should have drowned the Brethren and freed her. He can only set foot on dry land once every ten years? I didn't see his crew having that issue. And yes; her very nature as the Sea meant she was fickle and untamable. She could be trapped in a human shell, but she was constantly waiting for him to set her free. Of the two, she stayed the most loyal, and true to herself. In my opinion.
Aria Johnson ok, did my research. Apparently. After she didnt even take effort to show herself throughout those ten years and time after time when i would go ashore looking for her. She wasnt there. I plotted with the court to put her in human form. After we did that the pain and regret i felt after that caused me to carve my heart out and lock it away forever. And some sap decided to find it to force me to do his bidding. Making the kraken, and forcing souls to permanently serve on my ship. And then the court freed her. We still loved each other. So in one final epic battle, i went down. Finally with her again. As it should be. (And we were still smitten with each other) so yeah. But seriously. She was a god. She couldnt take the effort to show herself or give a sign at all. I think she learned her lesson though. So its all good
@@orbitingsentientsatellite4361 Ah. That's a fair point then. Guess being on the outside looking in it's easy to misconstrue whats being seen. Apologies, Captain.
“Ten years, I devoted to the duty you charged me. Ten years, I looked after those who died at sea, and finally, when we could be together again, you weren't there. Why weren't you there?”
Davy Jones was just a man who fell in love with the wrong woman. Calypso is the reason why he became a villain. He literally ripped his heart out because of her. And the saddest part is that he still loved her unconditionally...
The story of a man falling for a girl is one as old as time. Only in this case, the girl was none other than Calypso the immortal goddess and the man was a young sailor who wore his heart on his sleeve. One day, as the sailor began to age, he realized that his time with calypso was limited and he begged for a way to stay with her for eternity. He gave up his pure heart and good looks to become the feared Davy Jones, a figure who was more myth than man, all in hopes of seeing his one true love once every ten long years. And yet even after all he had sacrificed in her name calypso did not give him the same love in return. Cast away and heart broken, the immortal Davy Jones became the true monster of the sea we know today. Described as a monster by his true love, and yet he is a monster of her making.
@@isaacccccccccccc that's...kinda bad (like most stories re jesus)...probably why it was never a movie lmao. Also it wasn't jesus, part of the deal with the devil would be that he 'would sail the ship unto port even when Judgement Day came' the devil heard this and took him up on it. The flying dutchman will never dock, it will stay at sea forever, the capt and crew will live forever in exchange for their souls (which, when you're caught up in a storm and are gonna die anyway, is completely reasonable). However, the real ship was renowned for travelling extremely fast, from Netherlands to Java (Indonesia) in 3 months. Lots of people thought he made a deal with the devil, Captn Bernard Fokke was his name, upon encountering other ships other members of the crew tried to pass messages to people clearly dead for years. Theres also this image, which looks uncanny to the 'up is down' part en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Dutchman#/media/File:Superior_mirage_of_the_boats_painting.jpg "It is a common superstition of mariners, that, in the high southern latitudes on the coast of Africa, hurricanes are frequently ushered in by the appearance of a spectre-ship, denominated the Flying Dutchman. The crew of this vessel are supposed to have been guilty of some dreadful crime, in the infancy of navigation; and to have been stricken with pestilence ... and are ordained still to traverse the ocean on which they perished, till the period of their penance expire." - John Leyden Also, could this be capt Barbossa? "One account states that on the voyage out to Botany Bay a conspiracy was hatched by the convicts on board to seize the ship. Barrington disclosed the plot to the captain, and the latter, on reaching New South Wales, reported him favourably to the authorities, with the result that in 1792 Barrington obtained a warrant of emancipation (the first issued), becoming subsequently superintendent of convicts and later high constable of Parramatta.[". Explains why he became a constable in the later ones en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Barrington aha! And this is Sparrow: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Ward "Ward and his colleagues deserted and stole a small 25-ton barque from Portsmouth Harbour.[4] Ward's comrades elected him captain, one of the earliest precedents for pirates choosing their own leader.[5] They sailed to the Isle of Wight and captured another ship, the Violet, a ship rumored to be carrying the treasure of Roman Catholic refugees.[6] The ship turned out to be empty of treasure, but the enterprising Ward used her to capture a much larger French ship. "
I know this is just a fan-made added lyrics but... This really feels like it should have been at the end of the second of the third movie. It's amazing. I mean I normally don't feel bad for the villains but this made me feel sympathy for Davy Jones. Nice work!
Davy Jones is the most relatable villain to me. I know his pain all too well for 6 years I’ve been holding out hope for someone so yeah I know this pain and it’s why the lyrics hit deep for me at least
My girlfriend showed this song to me about a year after we started dating but it tears me apart to listen to it she passed away 2 years ago after getting hit by a drunk driver but on our anniversary I listen to it every year

Ten years i devoted to the duty you charged to me. Ten years i looked after those who died at sea. And finally when we could be together again... You werent there Why werent you there...
You know, the phrase “my love will never die” can have two meanings. [My love for you] will never die, or [The person I love] will never die. Both work in this context
“She pretended to love me!!! She betrayed ME!!!” “Ten years I devoted to the duty you charged to me, Ten years I looked after those who died at sea, and finally, when we could be together again..you weren’t there....why weren’t you there?” “My heart will always belong to you”
Your words comforted me a lot.I have been suffering the painful loneliness for more than a year.Perhaps I should listen to this song every time I feel frustrated. Thanks a lot!May God be with you!
RANT TIME What makes a good villain is their backstory, the part that no one knows about but explains why the character does what he/she does or turned "evil". Davy Jones is a villain with depth, character and an amazingly emotional and heartbreaking backstory that Bill Nighy depicted spectacularly. "Love is a viscous motivator." (Sherlock quote) Taking this into consideration he turned cruel because the woman he loved and gave everything(his freedom) to serve betrayed him on a whim. Also, can someone explain to me why Calypso didn't fucking show up, like I know you're a goddess and all that but you supposedly loved him so dont go and break his heart. The best thing about Davy Jones' character is the fact that despite everything that she cost him, his heartbreak being the reason he turned into a "monster" and carved his heart out, he still loved her. His heart still beat for her despite acting on vengeance and trapping her. Literally. His last words were 'Calypso'. I really absolutely love Davy Jones' character and would like to see him redeemed and returned in the 6th movie if there is going to be one.
She was bound by men, basically became a prisoner to humans so she couldn't keep her word, in the movie you see Calypso being freed... she becomes the ocean again and davy jones's resting place, in the end they were reunited but not everything can have a happy ending sadly
"The king and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones." That's the Pirate King, Davy Jones, of the first Brethren Court, and the nine pirate lords, stole the goddess Calypso from her bed of the sea, and bound her in human form. "The seas be ours, and by the powers, where we will, we'll roam." "Oh, we claimed the sea for ourselves, aye, but opened the door to Beckett, and his ilk!" "Now some have died, and some are alive, and others sail on the sea." Referring to the pirate lords. Some are dead, like Sao Feng, others are alive, like Jack Sparrow. And others are neither, but sail on the sea regardless, like Barbossa. "with the keys to the cage, and the devil to pay, we lay to Fiddler's Green." They carry the nine pieces of eight, the keys to Calypso's cage, and the only one to contend with is that devil, Davy Jones. And they lay to Fiddler's Green, the afterlife for sailors, a heaven to the Locker's hell. "The bell has been raised from its watery grave, hear its sepulchral tone." The song has been sung, a death knell for the age of pirates. "A call to all, pay heed the squall, and turn your sails toward home." The song calls a final meeting of the Brethren Court, all the lords must sail to Shipwreck Cove, the home of pirates if ever there was one.
@@wolfycssnipereye417 Wow I'm upset that I can't like this enough. Tbh I've always wondered if Calypso just chose to be oblivious to the fact that she created this "monster" or just didn't acknowledge it but then again the fact that she still had the musical locket on accounted for the fact that she still loved him so I'm kinda at peace with the fact.
@@vidhu9898 Yes and their love is so sad, like both cursed by their love which was not meant to be, human and goddess. He suffered and fell into darkness, bound to the sea thinking she lied, and Calypso in pain, bound in human form to land powerless, never being able to reach her love, only united after Davy's death
He executed a sacred charge from the woman he loved faithfully for 10 years, all in the hope that he would see her again, confident that their love was true and that she would be waiting for him. But when the day finally came, she abandoned him. The unimaginable heartbreak tore him to pieces, The only way to cope with the pain was to cut out his own heart. But in the process, also cut out all that made her love him. It left only a hollow shell of a man plagued forever by grief and pain, doomed to become a destroyer to the end of his days. he really is one of the greatest villains Disney ever made.

Will: "and then you betrayed her" Davy Jones: "she betrayed me!" Will: "after which betrayal did you cut out your heart, I wonder?" Davy jones and calypso's relationship is so much more complicated than that, unfortunately, the reality is that some beautiful love stories are meant to end tragically.

@@RhyderSteyn time change, people to :(
Beginning
We see that Davy Jones was just a boy who lived close to the coast.
The Attack
Until one day, the pirates attacked Davy Jones' village and his home was burnt to the ground. his family and friends butchered before his eyes. Davy, having very nearly escaped death, drifted into the ocean on a wooden debris, dying from his wound and dehydration, he was approached by Calypso.
The Contract
"Do you fear death?" Calypso asked Davy, as an immortal goddess, the concept of death has always fascinated her.
Delirious and thought it was a hallucination from dehydration, Davy Jones did not question how Calypso, his love appeared to him in the middle of the ocean. yet, he answered "I fear the thought of never meeting you again."
"You can be with me, always" Calypso told Davy, "if you would serve as my captain, my guide to the souls who are lost at sea."
Calypso also told Davy Jones that if he accepts, he would be to be able to only set foot on land once every ten years; for the magic to remain unbroken.
The Rage
Outraged. Davy Jones cursed Calypso and renounces her contract, her love and her. It caused him to become cursed, and his body underwent drastic changes as punishment for breaking the contract between him and Calypso. He then sought the pirates to bind Calypso into her human form. This time for good.
The Silent Tear
After it was done, Davy Jones felt nothing.

Davy Jones isn’t evil. He’s heartbroken. I hope people realize that. He isn’t a villain. He’s just... bitter.

Oh. This is an alternative point of view I hadn't thought of...
I think she knew she betrayed him. But it was her nature, free, wild, beautiful, treacherous. I quote:

Is it?
@@kingusernamelxixthemagnificent Yes
I know this is just a fan-made added lyrics but... This really feels like it should have been at the end of the second of the third movie. It's amazing. I mean I normally don't feel bad for the villains but this made me feel sympathy for Davy Jones. Nice work!
Hey yo , look at this video : Davy Jones & Calypso Story
This song is really wonderful! All that you say is true.
*sometimes the background story of villains makes the hero more cruel*
Sometimes a hero is only a hero because we see their side of the story first.

Davy Jones is the most relatable villain to me. I know his pain all too well for 6 years I’ve been holding out hope for someone so yeah I know this pain and it’s why the lyrics hit deep for me at least

Every day is a good day to listen to this song. Why should Christmas be any different?
Lol
My girlfriend showed this song to me about a year after we started dating but it tears me apart to listen to it she passed away 2 years ago after getting hit by a drunk driver but on our anniversary I listen to it every year
Drunk drivers are absolutely terrible. Truly a despicable and selfish act to drive under the influence of anything. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. I truly hope she's resting peacefully.
@Eski Dost Rest In Peace mate, hope you’re alright good.
today i experience lose streak in my game and now, i read this it even makes me sad lol
I have no doubts that you find one another in Hel (Norse after life), until then stay strong lad thats what she would want.
I'm so sorry for your loss man, may she rest in peace
Ten years i devoted to the duty you charged to me.
Ten years i looked after those who died at sea.
And finally when we could be together again... You werent there
Why werent you there...

Would you love me, if I was anything but what I am?
The never-changing man who loves the ever-changing sea.
You know, the phrase “my love will never die” can have two meanings. [My love for you] will never die, or [The person I love] will never die. Both work in this context
“She pretended to love me!!! She betrayed ME!!!”
“Ten years I devoted to the duty you charged to me, Ten years I looked after those who died at sea, and finally, when we could be together again..you weren’t there....why weren’t you there?”
“My heart will always belong to you”
Our lips can lie but never our hearts
22 days ago my daughter passed away. I wait until I can see her again. My love for her will never die.
Thats fucked up man i wish u the absolute best ❤
How did she die?
Police killed her
I'm sorry for your loss
That’s horrible. I’m so sorry that happened to you. I hope justice was served for her passing.

The curse of Davy Jones’s theme: everyone who hears it must return to it.

Love is as painful as it is wonderful.
Take it from an Eldritch Sea Captain.
“Many things you were Davy Jones, but never cruel”

Love This Song!!!, Who's Listening To This In 2018-2019?
Justus Rivera since you barely posted this yeah I love to go back and listen to a classic
"Life is cruel, why should the after life be any different ". I love this song!
RANT TIME
What makes a good villain is their backstory, the part that no one knows about but explains why the character does what he/she does or turned "evil".
If you listen to the song "Hoist the colours" you will know.. "The king and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones."
She was bound by men, basically became a prisoner to humans so she couldn't keep her word, in the movie you see Calypso being freed... she becomes the ocean again and davy jones's resting place, in the end they were reunited but not everything can have a happy ending sadly
"The king and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones."
That's the Pirate King, Davy Jones, of the first Brethren Court, and the nine pirate lords, stole the goddess Calypso from her bed of the sea, and bound her in human form.
"The seas be ours, and by the powers, where we will, we'll roam."
"Oh, we claimed the sea for ourselves, aye, but opened the door to Beckett, and his ilk!"
"Now some have died, and some are alive, and others sail on the sea."
Referring to the pirate lords. Some are dead, like Sao Feng, others are alive, like Jack Sparrow. And others are neither, but sail on the sea regardless, like Barbossa.
"with the keys to the cage, and the devil to pay, we lay to Fiddler's Green."
They carry the nine pieces of eight, the keys to Calypso's cage, and the only one to contend with is that devil, Davy Jones. And they lay to Fiddler's Green, the afterlife for sailors, a heaven to the Locker's hell.
"The bell has been raised from its watery grave, hear its sepulchral tone."
The song has been sung, a death knell for the age of pirates.
"A call to all, pay heed the squall, and turn your sails toward home."
The song calls a final meeting of the Brethren Court, all the lords must sail to Shipwreck Cove, the home of pirates if ever there was one.
Wait, so why did she abandon him them?
@@zonatedspore97acamas It was in her nature. She was as wild and treacherous as the sea remember.
@@UltraPoseidon so... it was or not intentional?
k
@@zonatedspore97acamas it was both. She told him "it's in my nature, would you have loved me if i was anything but what i am ? " So partially because she wants to and the other part to preserve their love which kind of destroyed it sadly 😔
"He fell in Love with a woman"
"No, it's the sea he fell in love with"
"Same story different versions, and all are true!"
"You see, it was a woman! As harsh, changing and untameable like the sea."
Davy Jones is an amazing example of what Love can twist someone into; It can turn a Savior into a Monster
It's amazing how this song/lyrics was only meant to be a fan-made but it's so beautiful other fans/youtubers also now made their own rendition of this fan-made song. Thanks to Fialeja❤️❤️✨
Wow! Did not know that! So it means this song is not officially in the movie? Thank you and have a nice day!
This was never in the movie, but the music score of 'Davy Jones' Theme' used in this song was composed by Hans Zimmer is definitely in AWE. Fialeja only added her lyrics which made it into this wonderful song❤️
“10 years I devoted to the duty you charged me, 10 years I looked after those who died at sea...And when we could finally be together again, You weren't there...WHY you weren’t there’’-Davy Jones
I love his reaction when she says it's her nature. He just flinches and when he tells her he doesn't love her, he can't even bring himself to face her when he says it
Will: "and then you betrayed her"
Davy Jones: "she betrayed me!"
Will: "after which betrayal did you cut out your heart, I wonder?"
Such a great line - we'll never know if it was the pain of being betrayed or the shame from betraying his lover that drove Davy Jones to forsake his humanity
Edit. And Will's comment may also imply that Jones betrayed his lover even though he still had his heart (in other words, he was still human and has no excuses)
Oh, I always understood that she betrayed him more than one. This comment gives a new meaning to it
Strange how we all seem to be coming back to this song at similar times…is it…magic?
Ikr. I listened to this years ago and never again. I came back a day after you
Back then, when the antagonist was scary and had a great backstory...
Me: Ten years... For ten years I listened to your theme song. And when I went to the theater to watch the new PotC movie... You. Weren't. There.
Davy: It's my nature. Life is cruel, why should Disney be any different?
