► Even with his heart locked in a chest, his pain was carried on, from love, from betrayal.
Davy Jones is one of my favorite villains of all time if you can even call him that.
He's truly a troubled soul, going cruel and evil from the feeling of betrayal by the one he loved.
I have been wanting to make a tribute video on Davy Jones for quite a while, so here is my take on it. I wanted to focus on giving the overall feel of the character through the chapters of Davy Jones: His intimidation, his hunt for Sparrow, his alliance with the Kraken, his broken heart, and his last fight before his fall. I hope you guys enjoyed the video.

Thank you for watching. I love making these edits for you all!
Stay strong out there, and if you're feeling down, let this be a reason not to lock your heart in a chest.
Yep. The story goes that one night when the sea winds moan, old shark-face will walk upon the land, and all his man-eaters will leave the briny deep and follow him, driving all of us humans back into the sea. - Milo Meekly, The New Scooby-Doo Movies - The Secret of Shark Island
I would do it anyway
this was amazing man, really good edit! it really captured his emotional state throughout the film. Never seen you or any of your edits before but this was exceptional.
you are a lagend thank u
I’m replying to the original comment and honestly you are way too right bro
“Life is cruel, why should the afterlife be any different”
-“Davy Jones”
meanwhile, calypso is with someone else 😂
I cried to this
because, before u born, the life wasnt like the current one u live now,it was nothing
Because the afterlife has no more death to keep fighting against.
See, he means it as a threat. If you see the appeal though you can turn that comment back on him. "Life isn't fair. Deal with it."
As a wise man once said. “Davy Jones has the character depth Disney is afraid to make again”
"To the depths"
Who said that? Curious
@@muetterdini some guy in the comment section of a different video
Too busy making cartoons with gay main characters to be diverse rather than make great content like they use too..
Davy Jones: "Full-bore and Into the abyss!"
Disney: "ARE YOU MAD?!"
Davy Jones: "HA! Ya 'Fraid to get WET?!"
"those who are heartless, once cared too much"
Very wise words.
Do you think that to be true?
@@dwightschrute7021 otherwise i wouldnt use that quote, and in that cutout/scene from the movie or the movie itself you can see it the best
Facts
Facts
“The pain it caused him was too much to live with, but not enough to cause him to die.” I’ve never heard the numbness you feel after a broken heart described so perfectly.
One the saddest villains , he became literally the embodiment of what he hated/ loved most , an octopus 🐙(his hate for calypso) with crab 🦀 parts (Calypso divine symbol) , i still believe that an spin off telling his past could make an awesome movie.
I did not know about the connection with the crab and symbol, but that makes a lot of sense! and a spin-off would have been amazing to see! If done by the same people who made the 1, 2, and 3, I think it would have had great potential!
@@EscathonEdits yes during the third movie she uses in many moments the Crab's , in the locker of davy jones or when she is free from her mortal form .
Yes if done right could be amazing , Jones is probably one the most tied with ocean secrets , he knew how to bend a god in a mortal form !! So he must have traveled a lot and had many adventures too .
Davey Jones and Darth Vader are the 2 villains that have incredibly sad stories. Both became mentally and physically the embodiment of what the darkness did to them.
@@EscathonEdits yeah his story must have been explained, who knows maybe in future
Here comes movie 6 with Depp confirmed to be in the UK, doing some kind of work on it. Probably gonna come out in early 2024 or so.
Davy jones is what we all will feel once in our lives. Love, hatred, sadness. He could not let go and it led to his downfall. Great villian, Great man, perfect to show emotions
((Edit; i have no idea how I got this many likes, but thanks!))
Just like anakin skywalker.
i recently let most of that go but it feels like its always there, and never truly goes away, like its just me. it definitely got me in some bad situations
@@benjaminjohansson6896 as much as i felt bad for Jones in his predicament…a part of me saying that he should have known what he has gotten into in the first place.
He chose to fell in love with something that is even more than just a mortal human. An unpredictable deity or a heathen god. He can love the seas, but he can never tame it for the seas are unpredictable and untameable.
Believe me, if Jones fell in love for another mortal woman, it would have been different.
What a character, it gives me goosebumps when I try to understand what he was feeling, this mix of feelings..
When i first saw Davy Jones in the movies. I never would have imagined that his story was that of a tragic love story.
It makes him an even greater villain. His sorrow turned to resentment and hatred.
He's quite the impactful villain the minute you get to relate to his pain. His story is certainly tragical.
Burning out the 😊
I beleive your looking for Anti hero or something like a hero An antihero or anti-heroine is a main character in a narrative who may lack some conventional heroic qualities and attributes
He is one of the best villains and his cgi is still great. wonderful job
Truly is such a great character, and the CGI is so good. In most scenes it's still better than some CGI we even have today. Very impressive. Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Villian? You meant victim right?
@@bruceashby6900 as much as I love Davy Jones and believe he went through a lot of pain. He is still classified as a villain.
@@sawyerolaf yes but it's bassed on who tells the story, I think the story is being told for Jack's point of view and he wouldnt know the pain he delt with so jack would see him as a enemy. Some of the stuff in the movie Is to fill in for the audience to know some things the main characters wouldn't know.
@@oblivionhunter7854 I don't get your point
OMG that match cut at 1:41 is divine!
Also adding the scene of Calypso closing the heart locket at the end was so good.
I am glad you picked up the detail with the heart locket, I thought it was a nice touch. Glad you enjoyed it!
@AlHasan Sameh Thank you very much!
1:41 was so smooth and perfect and at the end when davy jones looks at us, I can truly feel his pain
I'm glad you liked those details, thank you!
@@EscathonEdits an artist like you must get the appeciation you deserve, some other edits are cool and awesome, but only one besides this has truly made an inpact regarding the legend of Davy Jones
04:20 always gets me, the look on his face & him trying to breath as he was a human is raw emotion
Would have enjoyed seeing more of it. But even the small moment we got there was quite powerful.
Such a relatable character. Growing up and watching these movies again you really understand his pain and that he isn't the monster he was made out to be but just broken.
4:45 that is a scream of pure hatred and pain.
4:53 that is the scene of a man being tortured by his own mind.
5:49 that is the look of someone who is going through the worst pain. loneliness.
Well said!
All signs of a broken heart
The villain we can all understand and feel sorry for
3:07
Davy Jones was one of my favorite villains mainly because the way he felt so much pain, hatred, betrayal and it all became part of his physical appearance. Not only that, but I love his accent and his appearance. I just hope if he comes back that they don't ruin him.
I rather not they touch him again with the directon they've been going. Let the legacy of a legendary Davy Jones linger with us in a good light. But, if he returns, please have done by people who wrote and directed POTC1-3!
@@EscathonEdits agreed
One of the best villains to have graced our screen
Agreed!
1. Darth Vader
2. Davy Jones
3. Ganondorf (I know he's never made it to the big screen, but he's the greatest video game villain of all time.)
@@PRIDLEY229 Ehh Darth Vader and Voldemort both always felt too much like generic Nazi villains for my tastes but I can see why you would put Vader there.
@@mantaminer6669 Vader has a whole backstory and a reason why he's a villain. I put Davy Jones second because he's kinda like the Darth Vader of Pirates of the Caribbean series. He's a tragic villain just like Vader. Ganondorf is third because while he's like Vader and Jones, he's never made it to live action. I will admit that TotK Ganondorf doesn't have a real reason for being a villain. We don't get a really compelling backstory for him. Wind Waker Ganondorf has the most compelling backstory and a reason why he's a villain. To this day I will say that Darth Vader is by far the coolest and most relatable villain. Whenever he's on screen he directs all attention to him.
@@PRIDLEY229 Fair enough
His scream...you could feel the pain an heartbreak in it... 😭💔
There's a lot of pain in that scream, for sure.
I met Bill Nighy who played Davy Jones while at work back in 2015. Really nice man and an incredible actor.
One of the best villain's, score and CGI in the entire cinema. Pirates 1-3 hit hard.
Pirates 1-3 certainly is phenomenal and long-lasting!
5:28 I swear that Music box part always gives me chills 💔🥺
I listen to this music box while I sleep
Never fails 🥹🥺
I don't know why it goes so deep when he says calypso and then thunder hits. I feel something i can't express in words
The Darth Vader of the seas. loved the edit! Felt like an extended trailer almost!
He's certainly similar in some form to Darth Vader, agreed! And thank you, glad you liked it!
@@benjaminfalk7451 100% agree; both are terrors in their domains. Vader the terror of the galaxies, while Jones the terror of the seas.
"Do you fear death?" Davy jones, blows smoke out slowly!
*Instantly fears death*
1:39 that transition of him quickly looking over his shoulder was smooth af.
Tragic villains aren't villains, they are just a person who was bashed with the painful side of life, life played cruel games with them
You called for me
Exactly- it would behoove to be called tragics vs tragic villains.
No, they are people to weak to overcome the adversities of life and the struggles that follow. They are still villains and those saying otherwise are enablers. Mental fortitude, the power to endure, the ability to chose right even when wronged, the strength the stand back up even when bashed to the ground. The difference between the hero and the villain.
Davy Jones is such a sad story. The only reason he became the monster we all saw, was because he once dared to love, and have faith in his love, and yet when the time came, his love had abandoned him... Driving him mad, or cruel, or worse. Cold, and numb to the living.
He made the deal, that he would take on the task asked of him by the goddess of the sea, in exchange to be with her, his love, for one day every 10 years, on his one day free of service. And when that day came, she stood him up, yet he was still bound to the service for eternity. He was tricked, cheated, betrayed, and scammed. And when he finally had the chance to ask the goddess why she hadn't come to him, even once, for all of those long years, she wouldn't even give him an answer.
Davy Jones may have been the antagonist, but he wasn't the villain. No more than Khalipso was the villain of his story.
Women
Women
Women
She did give him an answer. "it's my nature." A Beautiful seductress that used Davey Jones to serve a purpose.
@@krishi.0 Boo this man! Booooo!!!
Bruhhhhhh 1:41 I have seen that scene so many times and have seen so many edits. But damn that transition was absolutely flawless. Turning the exact same way
Ay, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Personally quite happy with it as well.
Who would've known that a children's theme park ride would give us one of cinema's greatest tragic villains
These movies scared me as a kid. I still loved them.
That's the spirit!
A broken heart can lead anyone down a dark path
1. I'm lost for words, this is unbelievably astounding
2. I wonder what PotC would've done with the Leviathan (which is different in myths and history then a Kraken)(Krakens are usually depicted as Cephalopods [squid and octopi], Leviathans are usually depicted as titan sized, aquatic demons or serpentine [sin of envy])
Thank you very much ^^
Seeing a Leviathan in battle would be quite interesting! No doubt about that, but balancing Its power can be tricky!
@@EscathonEdits true, I understand the sheer power and funds it would require
Davy Jones was my favorite “villain” since the first time I ever watched this movie as a kid. They did an insanely good job with his character as a whole.
5:37 😢, that ending with him playing the piano and being sad even though he don’t have a heart !!!! Was perfect
He was a heartless monster … who once was a man with a big heart that got broken 💔💔
When Disney wants to, they can come up with a worthy villain.
Not just a villain for the sake of being a villain. All nuance and masterful class.
"Life is cruel! Why should the afterlife be any different?"
One of the very best tribute videos I’ve ever seen. You summed up both the tragic and the formidable side of this character. He’s one of the greatest villains that Disney ever had. He had the perfect mix of the old style of Disney villain and the new. He’s dangerous, relatable, and fun to watch.
Love can really break a man no matter how tough you think you are
the scream at 4:58 gives me goosebumps every time...well done.
Glad you liked that part!
As kids we see villains as horrible ppl, but as adults we can hardly blame them. We start to see the truth of what makes people evil..
As the good quote says "When we are kids we admire the heroes, when we are adults, we understand the villains".
Best movie character ive ever seen, bro deserved an oscar for those two heavenly movies.
A nice tribute to Davy Jones, the man with a broken heart. As an adult now we understand Villains !
"As kids we admire the heroes, as adults we understand the villains."
@@EscathonEdits Bloody true !
Some say it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all I say try it.. at times men with the coldest hearts were once those who cared to much
I can relate with Davy Jones with every heartache I deal with more of the cold side comes out
Loved the whole second film, from the second I saw Davy Jones I was hooked
I love mythical monsters
So when I saw the Kraken on screen the first time I was speechless in the cinema, as a kid
This was top tier Disney and writing
My Favorite Villain in The Pirates of Caribbean Trilogy. He was such a scary and tragic character brought to life by Bill Nighy. 3:09. I started crying that was some amazing editing and The Music just made this tribute amazing. Davy Jones is My Fourth Favorite Villain of All Time.
I'm glad you liked the edit, and yes Bill did a fantastic job. No one shall ever take that way from him.
@@EscathonEdits I Agree
what's the top 3?
@@lordcamini5378 My Top 5 Favorite Villains of All Time.
1: NiKlaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) The Vampire Diaries Universe
2: Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader (Hayden Christian, James Earl Jones and David Prowse) Star Wars Trilogy
3: Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) Pirates of The Caribbean
4: Tywin Lanister (Charles Dance) Game of Thrones
5: Norman Osborn/Green Goblin (William Dafoe) Sam Rami’s Spider Man Trilogy and Spider Man No Way Home
Absolutely! Davy Jones is by far my favorite POTC villain and character in general really. Everything about him is perfect. His looks, accent, the way he enunciates words, his back story, just all of it. And Bill Nighy did a fantastic job. I'm so angry that Disney treated Depp like a scumbag instead of waiting to see the facts n ruining the chance for another movie. POTC is one of my favorite movies of all time and particularly the fact that I think they were bringing Davy Jones back based on the end credits scene in the last film. I wish Jones could send Amber Heard to the locker lol
The soundtrack to this movie is amazing! The love song from the locket is absolutely tear jerking and the theme for the kraken with the organs playing is just priceless. There's no words to describe how perfect it is. It's crazy how the right music at certain parts of movies can make the moment so much better. Music in movies makes me cry so much. Even when it's not sad. Idk why lol. It's just like it touches my soul or something. Like the theme song when Jack is riding his little sinking boat in to the dock gets me everytime. It's not even sad but I shed a tear everytime lol. Hans Zimmer should've won do many awards for these movies
The music in these movies is so good, without a doubt.
Oh the character...
Ohh the dialogue..
Ohh the story..
So smooth so outstanding.
The audio mix is incredible, love it
Glad you like it! Thank you!
One of Billy Nigh's legendary character and acting.
Thank you for giving us this, you have managed to capture one of the most beautiful and painful parts of the movie
Thank you very much! Glad you found it impactful.
So well done. And I can sympathize with his pain of a heart broken and never being appreciated despite dogged dedication and constant effort. Through his torment of a betrayed broken heart, he did become a monster, but she carries massive responsibility for instigating the entire thing and never bore that burden outside of her own selfish perspective.
Davy Jones is my favorite character in Potc. Bro just wanted love.
I really love Davy jones. Like more than any character i can think of.
He's truly great!
I can relate to Davy Jones all to well
Especially his sadness and anger
"My heart will always belong to you" - Davy Jones
I don’t understand why Davy jones is underrated
He so good he can never be “overrated”
He is truly amazingly well written
I’m starting to think he may even be more tragic then darth Vader
Tho that may be up for debate
As a kid I still loved him even though I didn’t understand his story
I just thought he was plain awesome
Tho I understand his story as of now and I love him even more
Awesome work with the edit
It’s so sad to see what Disney became.
Look how they massacred my boy....
They forced LGBTQ bullshit into it and self destroyed
2:40 I love this part
I'm glad you do. I remember having a lot of fun editing that together!
This video is criminally under-viewed.
Haha, well thank you so much for viewing anyways! :)
To any brother here in the comments, elaborate when you saw this movie as a kid seeing jones and then how you feel rewatching it after a woman breaks your heart. You finally understand him on the level, but let’s not give into pure hatred and despair as he did. It’s not a sin to put up walls around your heart. That’s being cautious and wise. It’s a sin to cut your heart out leaving you sociopathic and soulless.
this is the best tribute video i have seen... i have watched it like 12 times
Hell.....and they say love makes you happy ..... but the heartbroken one becomes a monster out of his burden of his own heart. Sad indeed.
My heart feels sorrow for Jones....
I've been coming back to this character as of late since I've been comparing the pain that I went through as a child to his pain but I keep going to a gray line from where the pain that was inflicted upon me physically and mentally is not the same as the pain he has within himself I saw much of my past self within this character the hate the pain and the pain of ones thoughts of the past tearing them apart from the inside out causing you to becoming that is not even the closest thing to a human or a man simply a empty husk with only pain and hatred and memories of the past that will tear you apart until your mind finally breaks.
The screams of Davy Jones, you could feel pain & cruelty running through it
We will never see such an amazing trilogy as this ever again
A great and tragic villain and his design is the type of creativity that we may never see again
This was an absolutely incredible edit!!!! Thank You!
Thank you, for watching!
“Those who are careless once cared too much.” -

this is an absolutley beautifully edited video, thank you so much for giving us this!
The heart locket ring always gets me.. i used to watch these movies with my mom and bro when we were young. I miss her alot..💔
Man these videos this well done are hard to come by, thank you for the time and effort man
Such a beautifully edited video. This had my girl in tears. Thank you!
def one of the best davy jones videos ive seen so far
I absolutely love his story arc in the movies. Such a deep character.
One broken promise is enough to turn a man into a monster.
The hearts that get the coldest. Were also once the warmest. - unknown
Such a great and tragic story. A man who gave his heart and got pain in return. Pain enough to tear his heart from his chest. In any other circumstance, Davy Jones would have been a great hero.
That's so great
I was waiting for the "my heart will always belong to you" line with the music from the music box at the very end of the video, it would've been perfect.
That would have been a nice addition to the edit, but oh well... I'll give you credits for good editorial sight there!
I Love The Music Director and its whole Team. ❤️
The best edit I have ever seen yet
As a long time fan of POTC, all I say is, incredible!

This is absolutely amazing! I think you should get far more views
I am more than happy with the many views that have come my way, and very much appreciative. Thank you though!
one of the most badass and stylish villain ever made
I remember watching these Movies as a Child back when they came out, and i remember even then how much emotion Davy Jones got out of me, but damn it kicks different as an Adult.
What an absolutely beautifully tragic Character, literally cutting his heart out and giving it to his Love..
Why the fck is my nose running now
This edit is a masterpiece and sadly very undderrated
Everything is just perfect
The introduction, other characters telling about him, his entry, the background music is just right
The edit shows a story throughout the video
Only thing is it would've been much much better if you hand included some of his sword fights and stabbing Wills heart scene.
Villains only become Villains usually do to very traumatic and abnormal stressful events, and also generally because of being treated as such before they actually become the "bad guy", when one gets thrown about and treated as expendable or even looked down upon in some fashion it tends to breed resentment which leads to apathy and then the famous "I don't give a damn attitude ", then shortly after that a "villian" is born.
4:50 is what gets me the most. His pain is definitely showing as he plays.
That was a great edit mate!! You doing a great job of showcasing these characters 🔥🔥👍🏻
Glad to know that! Davy Jones is a character I've followed through my life pretty much, just the depth of his character, you know? So needed to cover him in one way or another. Thank you for watching man! :)
I miss movies like this. Well made with good actors, fun moments but most importantly it feels like actual adventure and not just a rushed series of scenes to get to the big money shot at the end.
David Jones,a man of promise, but got ditched by his beloved one, yet he still unable to stoping the unreasonable love
Be aware of the sea, because it is just unreasonable like the one true love can be.
