I love how for all the changes the show went through they saw the Mama-Naomi arc through to the end by having it begin with Thelma dead set against Vint marrying her and ending with Mama delivering their baby out of their mobile home in the driveway. Also sidenote: the fact that the show creators named the daughter-in-law Naomi always made me wonder if that was a comedic nod to the story of Ruth and Naomi in the Bible, which probably the most famous story about a mother and daughter in-law ever told only unlike the Biblical story the show makes it clear they can't stand each other and only tolerate one another for Vint's sake LOL
They left out the best Mama/Naomi scene. When Ellen, Eunice, and Naomi were making Gooseberry Ham and the berries started popping and Naomi said “I can hear that sweat popping all over me” and Mama yelled “It’s the berries your tramp”.
I think Naomi had a baby girl at the end of this show and they named her Thelma. They didn't like each other but I think there was some love there, in a disfunctional type of way.
I think they named her Tiffany and her middle name was Thelma because Mama and Naomi were fighting over her name and Mama wanted to name the baby after herself, but Naomi wanted to name her Tiffany. So, they decided her middle name would be Thelma, so her name would've been,(if the show had lasted longer) Tiffany Thelma Harper. It's common in families to have the grandma's middle name.

Mama wore poor naomi out. in the real world if there would've been a mother in law like thelma harper, and a daughter in law like naomi harper, and a son like vinton harper, the son vinton harper, would've ended up with two failed marriages because naomi would've also divorced vinton just like vinton's first wife did and vinton would've probably ended up being depressed for the rest of his life and he would probably end up blaming mama for all his problems.
