One of my main pedals I'm using almost every day. It's crazy some people don't like the Joyos just because they're cheap. If the Chinese can build modern cell phones, computers and lots of other hi-tech stuff, why should they fail at copying a fourty year old guitar effect? Personally I think you must be insane if you spend 150 Dollars or more on the original pedals.
Don't give the secret away. I want to buy another one and don't want the prices to rocket! Such a sweet warm crunchy tone from this pedal. It's better than the original Tubescreamer by miles.
soulagent79, you're absolutely correct. It's funny how people have no problem spending a $1000 on an iphone that was made in China but a guitar pedal that costs $30 to $40 they cringe.
The Vintage Overdrive is a Tubescreamer, so it does a bit of overdrive while leaving you clean sound in there but the Ultimate drive gives you a power amp distortion. So, you cannot compare them, they are very different. For that price, just get them both!
I still have this pedal and use it really often. I think I've bought it in 2013 after watching this video. It has seen A LOT of shows, recordings and honestly, I won't replace it because it sounds so good.
I got mine just today, cool sound and pretty simple and as it is seen in your demo it is the "must have" in collection. For the price that is a joke, pedal is master built, sound is wow and no one will regret buying one. If there is an oportunity, people,I am serious...get one!!! Tnx for demo guys!!!
I got my three Joyo pedals in and got to play on them over the weekend - the Vintage, Ultimate Distortion, and the phaser. Man, I'm impressed. Well-built, they sound great, and I got them for less than $30 each(U.S., with free shipping). I was a little skeptical considering the price, but Joyo may be the best kept secret in the world of guitar gear. Thanks for turning me on to this brand.
hey Purple Haze... sorry I cannot answer to your post directly... RUclips does not give me the option... maybe your settings are private... anyway.... what amp.... for Blues and Classic Rock.... well, I would suggest to something like a Fender Hot Rod and then work with pedals. That type of Amp is a great vehicle for pedals and that gives you the flexibility to go wherever you want to go. You can also look at the Harley Benton VT30, video is on my channel as well as the link to buy it... also, Joyo is releasing 4 new clean amps that follow in the big footsteps of those Fender Amps... 5, 12, 22 and 40 Watts.... they might be very interesting for you.... should be coming early next year.
BTW this is the only Joyo pedal that has true bypass. You can easly check it, just connect the pedal to the guitar and amp without the power (take out the battery too).
Henning!!!!! You HAVE to demo the Blues Saraceno watermelon plaid yamaha rgz 820r. Those parallel axis pickups are some of the best pickups I have ever played. Your videos reviews are great, keep up the awesome.
Love that plaid Yamaha / green plaid guitar you have! Thank you for these video's. I appreciate it. Found you on Rig Talk. Just so you know. Love that strat too! ;-) Thanks again from the USA. Tim
Jesse Pinkman on the lead! :) ...just kidding. You're making us save a ton of money by making this excellent/funny reviews. You're awesome guys! Thank you very much!
Hello I want to know if there is a harley benton pedal similar to the super feedbacker & distortion boss pedal, thanks and your reviews are quite good...
Hello! :) Very nice demo/review, I really appreciated it! Anyway, I'd like to explain a little problem and I'd like to have your help :) At the moment, I have an Ibanez Ts5 and I love it, but in no time I'm going to join a band and we want to play classic rock(zeppelin, deep purple) plus some blues and a bit of hard rock(mostly AC/DC). Now my question: which pedal should I take between the Vintage OD and the Ultimate OD? Notice that I want to use that pedal sie by side with my Ts5 :D thanks! :D
Hi Henning great demo per usual! I am searching for an overdrive pedal to boost my overdriven Kustom 2012R amp which already has a very nice tube-like max overdrive but not enough to get the metal sound. I cant go with distortion into this max overdriven amp so wonder if this one could do the job. I could go with clean sound on the tube and then with metal distortion but I really love that tube-like sound this amp gives and would like to push that further. Thanks man!
Thanks man! I am also looking at the Ultimate Drive pedal from HB. When not playing which one creates more hiss (if any). I would like to add some more distorted sound to the overdriven/boosted amp so I dont need extra boost only but also a bit more dirt. Lets say I want to get as much high gain while on the boosted amp. What do you recon Ultimate Drive or Vintage Overdirve. (I hope I made my self clear) :)
The Deluxe Crunch will give you a wide range of classic rock sounds, check out that video.... if you want THE ULTIMATE classic rock pedals, check out the Jetter videos on my channel, the Gold 45/100 is amazing... and the Gold Standard as well... in the Gold Standard video I am even boosting it with the Vintage Overdrive... but they are not cheap... a bit over 200 Euros...
yesterday I made a little experiment and I used this on a bass recording. Jazz bass / neck pickup only / drive at about 8 o clock, tone at about 10 o clock...that turned out sweet!
honestly that 'Metallica blues' sounds more like Tool to me :D btw i love your videos ;) and you can use your vintage overdrive in metal, just simply put it in a gain channel of a 'normal' gain amp, let's say jcm 800's
Hi, no, I don't get paid. But even if got paid, I will never ever say a pedal is good when it is not. You can clearly see and hear if I like a profuct... getting paid wouldn't change that. I will always say what I think, otherwise these reviews are pointless!
Hey... your German is great! As for the Valvetronix... hmmm....its a hybrid amp, isn't it.... pedals usually sound good in front of tube amps... digital amps don't react the same... but for the price it's worth a try!
jaskicd I had the Valvetronix amp and I tried it with pedals and it sounds crap! I returned the amp and bought a great practice amp from Kustom (PH 2012R) which is solid state but with great tube-like sound and the 12" speaker really makes the sound full.
Man... Why do you make reviews on cheap pedals using the most expensive gear? That would give no paramemeter at all to users with the intention and money for cheap stuff. An original TS808 goes well with that gear of yours, buddy. So, here is MY review. I have this one. Goes from my indonesian Squier Strat to a Frontmann 15g. It sounds fine, and does better than the BOSS SD-1, with a little more body and crunch. You will not have of course that SRV feels, becase you're not SRV, and you don't have that splendid Fender nor a cool valve tube. But you can make things better: you can run the pedal, as I do, into another before the amp, a cheap joyo named American Tone, which is a Tweed Simulator. It sounds very very good. cheers!

All BMW electronics and engines and Volvo cars are made in China too Lol
Don't give the secret away. I want to buy another one and don't want the prices to rocket! Such a sweet warm crunchy tone from this pedal. It's better than the original Tubescreamer by miles.
Dude, Joyo and other cheap pedals are gifts from God. They definitely sound great for its price.
soulagent79, you're absolutely correct. It's funny how people have no problem spending a $1000 on an iphone that was made in China but a guitar pedal that costs $30 to $40 they cringe.
@@jackflash5659 maybe $1000 pedal could last for 10 years or more, but I'd rather buy 3 cheap pedals that would last for 5 years each

I love how the flickering makes it look like a light show to accompany the guitar playing.

Haha! Great demo! You answered my questions and also made me laugh. Keep it going! Greetings from Mexico.

Music Store offers this one in blue as well... "Tube Steamer" they call it ;-)
Thanks for the in-depth review, I think I'll give it a shot!
Great demo. Love your work, but not sure if this pedal sounds a bit thin.

Nice sounding pedal for the money. Great video as usual
Jesse Pinkman on the lead! :) ...just kidding. You're making us save a ton of money by making this excellent/funny reviews. You're awesome guys! Thank you very much!
Hey man, I was wondering if you could use this pedal in a solid state amp and still get the same sound. Great vid!
Hey awesome vidz man..I had a question..is this any different from a regular joyo vintage overdrive?..and do they ship to the u.s
Hello I want to know if there is a harley benton pedal similar to the super feedbacker & distortion boss pedal, thanks and your reviews are quite good...
hay man i have a joyo Vintage overdrive and its just as good as a TS9
Hello! :)
Very nice demo/review, I really appreciated it!

Great job,Greetings from Serbia! :-)
Greetings.... another great demo.....what is your opinion on this one vs. sweet baby....thx
for me: Sweet Baby.
The Vintage Oberdrive is a Tube Screamer and retains some of The clean Signal, The Sweet Baby does not.
Hi! Do you think it's possible to stack this overdrive together with the US DREAM?
Ibanez Tube Screamer is a iconic series of pedals that is copied often.
strongly cuts the lower range on my Bugera g5 + vintage 30...
Hi Henning great demo per usual! I am searching for an overdrive pedal to boost my overdriven Kustom 2012R amp which already has a very nice tube-like max overdrive but not enough to get the metal sound. well, this is a TubeScreamer and those are used for pushing an amp further, so I would say go ahead

Is it good for AC/DC kinda tones ?
Hey, dude...12:08 - They would be Bad Monkeys!
Nope, no difference... you can get them in the US... if you can't find out where, just check joyoaudio com for their distributors...
Wüsste zu gerne welche Nordstrand PUP's der Moritz da auf seiner geilen Strat hat.
What is name of the band who is playing in background when he is speaking?
That is some instrumental stuff I wrote myself !
EytschPi42 Can I get somehow this track ? It makes me so powerful : D
yesterday I made a little experiment and I used this on a bass recording. Jazz bass / neck pickup only / drive at about 8 o clock, tone at about 10 o clock...that turned out sweet!
Funny duckfarts... dimojoe can just click on other videos where people don't talk that much... I have a different approach...
honestly that 'Metallica blues' sounds more like Tool to me :D btw i love your videos ;) and you can use your vintage overdrive in metal, just simply put it in a gain channel of a 'normal' gain amp, let's say jcm 800's
Moritz (?) is a great player!
Do you work or get paid from Harley Benton or Thomman for the demos of their pedals ?
Hi, no, I don't get paid.
But even if got paid, I will never ever say a pedal is good when it is not. You can clearly see and hear if I like a profuct... getting paid wouldn't change that. I will always say what I think, otherwise these reviews are pointless!

EytschPi42 Yes it is a Hybrid. It has a cruch channel that want to copy a JCM800.. but lacks alot of gain. Like you said.. its 30E, worth a try
jaskicd I had the Valvetronix amp and I tried it with pedals and it sounds crap! I returned the amp and bought a great practice amp from Kustom (PH 2012R) which is solid state but with great tube-like sound and the 12" speaker really makes the sound full.
Hey man where can I get those strap locks on all your guitars?? that would be handy. Dig the reviews.
those straps are Dimarzio Clip Locks... look online, many places carry them.
Kul rite on!..thanks man
hab so ne alte strat aus den 80ern, substanz ganz gut, aber die PUPs müssen raus, klingt einfach matt.
Man... Why do you make reviews on cheap pedals using the most expensive gear? That would give no paramemeter at all to users with the intention and money for cheap stuff. An original TS808 goes well with that gear of yours, buddy.

Why the background rock music? Totally unnecessary..
I bought it with 26USD in HONG KONG
This dude talks too much
:):):)
Monke
...in der Kürze liegt die Würze - gähn...
no you talk too much
