This must be the best sequel ever for a horror film. Just saw it, keeps you tense the whole movie duration and overall it's one of the best horror films in a lot times. It also lets Wilson demonstrate his acting abilities better

Couldn't have expected less from the guy that wrote Saw I and II though (back to back films that were also very good). Leigh Whannell was born to do sequels. Insidious the first one was okay, but this one was actually good, nothing special but definitely surpassed my expectations. Decent film.

Actors mumble some stuff so silently to force you to turn the volume all the way up, probably so they can use a chea scare tactic by using a loud noise or a sound cue. Pathetic. That's a tactic for 9-year olds for fuck's sake. It's like, I want to hear the story and understand it, but I don't want my ears blown off every time a BOO! GET SCARED! scene comes up. We're in 2014 and they can't do sound properly. I could teach a street bum how to do it, and the sad part is that I'm not even joking about that. Whoever was in charge of sound, put on an apron, and go flip some burgers. Put your skills to a proper use.

I thought the scariest one was the first one. The second one was scary and so was part 3 but after I saw the first film I slept with my face covered for at least six months. That part when the father goes into the further scared the shit out of me and the part with the boy ghost dancing in the new house made me laugh but it scared the shit out of me.

If you didn't like the first one, you probably won't like the second. Simple as that. And there's nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. I personally loved both films (though preferred the first) and felt they were among the very few films that have ever gotten under my skin.

Although if you are interested in seeing how the story turned out, I would say you might want to give it a shot since it does have a slightly different tone, style and pace than the first. So you MIGHT like it more than the first. (Plus it's on Netflix streaming, so if you have an account, you can see it for free)

I friggin loved this movie... and the 2nd one!! I think it's really worth watching. I would definitely watch them two again... along with a few others.
Is the sequel at least better than the first? Sorry to offend anyone but I'm allowed to express my opinions and I felt there was nothing scary about the first one besides one or two cheap jumpscares. Wish hollywood would come out with something that could get under my skin
If you didn't like the first one, you probably won't like the second. Simple as that. And there's nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. I personally loved both films (though preferred the first) and felt they were among the very few films that have ever gotten under my skin.
MaximumMadnessStixon I just had to state that because people tend to say hateful things just for not having the popular opinion on something. I've been watching a lot of indy and or foreign flicks to try and get out of those old and overused hollywood cliches and still haven't really fount anything.
Brendon8910 It's all good. I understand that feeling completely. But I do think that if you didn't like the first film, you probably shouldn't even bother with the second, unless you just want to see how the story ends.
Although if you are interested in seeing how the story turned out, I would say you might want to give it a shot since it does have a slightly different tone, style and pace than the first. So you MIGHT like it more than the first. (Plus it's on Netflix streaming, so if you have an account, you can see it for free)
MaximumMadnessStixon Oh it's on Netflix? Definitely might give it a shot then. I usually use this website for most of my movies since Netflix kinda lacks in movies but for sure. I may have to rewatch the 1st one again to re learn the story. It's been a while and plus I wasn't all that into it.
But there is either 1 or 2 prequills before the actual chapters begin. It gives the back story of most of the main characters. So awesome.
