I appreciate you too. Got my Red Sea Reefer 300xl over a month ago and watched all your videos to gain as much knowledge as possible. Thank you for the time you’ve put in, going to miss your voice and content. Wish your family the best!
Pelphrey - you were an amazing resource for my husband and me when I was starting out. You’re probably the reason I got a Red Sea tank. I always appreciated your responsiveness and great advice. I’m sure it’ll take a while once that empty spot is sitting there, for it to sink in, and sometimes you just need a break. I’m confident you’ll be back. 💪🏻💪🏻
Nearly a year late to the reply... Hope you are doing well! It's been right at a year now with no tank. Weird, but also have moved on to other interests.
Thanks for the update P. It’s a time consuming hobby for sure and we all need a break every now and then. Looking forward to you next build when you decide to start up again. Good luck buddy!
Wish you all the best man! My tank wouldn’t have the 80/20 hanging over it without your videos and lighting tips. Hope you come back to the hobby. I’ll be following along.
Man im so sorry to hear you are getting rid of the tank. You were one of the first people I started watching and learning from here on RUclips since I got into this hobby back in 2016. I hope you enjoy your time away. We all need a break bud....but I know you will be back sooner than later. Until later friend! 👊
Yeah it's kinda sad to see... Your videos and updates have been inspirational and helpful to me to get started with my first ever aquarium which is a Reefer 350. While I'm currently struggling with never ending algae in that tank, learning lessons the hard way! But, despite this, I'm actually planning a pico tank build for my office :). As a father of three young kids I can relate with the time constraints that life puts on maintaining a reef tank. For example, it's annoying that I can only ever do water changes when the kids are in bed and after a longs day's work when I'd rather sit back and relax. But I this hobby is unique and special and despite it's challenges I still manage to enjoy it and find energy for it. I love how my creative juices flow when I'm planning little projects for the tank, trying to figure out how I'm going to add a refugium, should I go with this or that methodology, or how I'm going to install certain piece of equipment in the cabinet, etc. It's all fun stuff. But, I can imagine a point where it would be too much work and head ache to just to maintain if it gets too complicated so I've been trying to take things slow and enjoy the process. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your well deserved break. You've been helpful to me in my reefing journey by sharing your experiences. I'm pretty sure that it's only a matter of time before you find new a inspiration and pop up with a fresh new build. ;) It would be nice to see you start a small tank project with with your older kid. I think it's great that they are so into aquariums!
Thank you for the support and for following along! I agree with everything you said, I did most of my maintenance in the middle of the day on the weekends. I do get to work from home a few days a week so I was using those days to also work on the tank when I had some free time! I've thought over the years to start a tank with my kids, and maybe we will one day. For now we are enjoying our first summer without having to worry about house temps, or someone on standby when we head out for a couple of days or a week!
Sorry to see this gone. The bug might come back and hopefully see you with a nano tank. Wish I lived closer. Would have loved to grab that Colorado Sunburst and Yellow Tang. I just picked up a Boston Terrier puppy this last Sunday. WAY more work than a reef tank. LOL. That soon will pass as my last 12 year old Boston Terrier was a piece of cake and a wonderful companion to the family. I'll miss seeing your vids!!!! Enjoy brother!
Love seeing your puppy updates!!! I was surprised the livestock went as quickly as it did. Still stuck with the water storage containers and RODI unit! I'll never say never to a come back one day! We went to St Louis this weekend and one of the places we visited had a 150-180 gallon tank. Took a peak in the top cabinet and it was running radions and some tunze pumps! Out of the thousands of people who have seen that tank I'm probably less than 1% that looked in the cabinet! haha
Hi pelphrey. I have extra brand new down pipes for the rsr250. Still in the box. I took my reefer down because I have a four and five foot tank too. Could you use these, including the gate valve side?
I had issues with the red sea plumbing, I got the first version of the tank and the plumbing was already brittle. Plus I was actually ready to get out of the hobby, just needed a good reason and that was it.
This wasn’t an easy decision by any means! But I thought about it for a year or more. Just needed something to send me over the edge! I can say it’s been 2 months now, a couple vacations I don’t have to spend time prepping the tank and can spend that time elsewhere!
Been out a year now and love it! Being able to go on vacations without prepping the tank or worrying about it is what I needed! Good luck on your new adventure!
Well dang it boy got to say i hope you come with something lol. I took a break from saltwater for 3 years but still had a freshwater tank. Now i have an innovative marine nuvo 20 and its perfect for size time spent and money, i use frags to trade aat my local to get store cred ,enjoy pal.

Kinda brought sadness to me, it's hard to see a fellow reefer getting out. I hope to see you soon with a nano setup.
Yeah, this wasn't an easy decision. I thought about it for a long long time!
Sad to see you go, I've been watching you for quite sometime. Take care brother.
Thanks for following along. Sorry for such the LATE reply!
@@pelphrey all good bud
So sorry for your decision
I spent a long time thinking about it!
Mate - I am gonna miss ya - thanks for everything and I hope you come back ;)
Thank you, I appreciate that!!! Maybe one day!

I don't have the tank anymore, its been gone for 2 months! Thank you, but I have no use for the pipes!
@@pelphrey cool. If you know of someone who could use them let me know. Thanks man. I've enjoyed your rsreefer250 videos!
So you have issues with the valve? Isn’t that supposed to make this adjusting easier?
I had issues with the red sea plumbing, I got the first version of the tank and the plumbing was already brittle. Plus I was actually ready to get out of the hobby, just needed a good reason and that was it.
Hope to see you back when time allows man 👍
Thank you Paul!! I'll never say never!
Man Pelphrey. I am still hoping on but I have been talking about taking mine down. We have been doing this about the same about of time.
This wasn’t an easy decision by any means! But I thought about it for a year or more. Just needed something to send me over the edge! I can say it’s been 2 months now, a couple vacations I don’t have to spend time prepping the tank and can spend that time elsewhere!

Thank you so much for the support!!!
Hey bro I break is good I’ve been on one for a while but it calls you everyday . I’m about to get back into reefing soon

Thank you!!! Like I said I thought about this for a year easily. It’s been two months now. I’m happy and healthy! I’ll never say never!
@@pelphrey good luck in whatever you do brother man hope you have a great weekend!

I thought about a nano, its now been 2 months without the tank. Loving it!
