Good video mate
Mate you should consider a turf scrubber or refugium made from the ATO tank that came with your sump. Go with that and just your skimmer. Feed heavy, and tune your nutrients with the amount of hours growing algae. You should never have to dose nitrates and phosphates when all you have to do is feed your tank with food.
On the side of the ClariSea there is a bypass valve/gate. Open it up a bit and let some of the $hit get through raise your nitrate naturally. The filter can get it next time round.
I have set my drain so the water is now lapping the emergency overflow to let some of the 💩 stay in the system
As if life wasn’t stressful enough at the moment then this happens 😬🤔

Good luck mate, glad I came across this, I had been pondering fitting a roller filter, I don't use socks just my refugium and dose Triton think I will hold off, this is the problem with hobby test kits, I use hanna and redsea and send of icp test every so often and adjust my readings to suit, nice upgrade by the way 👌the Ghl Ion looks the biz as well 🤔, your tank is still looking ace keep it up 😉
If it ain't broke... I am really happy with the water clarity but paying the price with nutrients 🙈
@@NanoTankReefer It obviously is broke if you have zero nutrients lol.
Enemy of good is better- we reefers just sometimes can’t keep our hands off the tank😬. But now you know and things will get better.
Hope you get things back on track. Its nice to see someone show the bad aswel as the good side of the hobby, you never know how many others reefs you might have saved from learning from your mistakes. Out of interest..
Have you opened the little white swing valve on the clarisea to let more water bypass your filter?
I haven't but have adjusted the gate valve so I get some overspill form the emergency into the sump 👍
@@NanoTankReefer yeah i saw something on reefbuilder about the clarisea sucking out to much nitrates and it mentioned opening the valve fully to allow more water to escape.
How did u do ur gate valve as my 250 is running crap now with the original
Did the ICP test solve the problem and was it accurate? Just curious as the ICP test was showing a total water volume of 250L but with rocks in display tank and equipment in the sump, the total water volume could be between 210-215L.
Hmm I’m tempted to run a Clarisea and replace my skimmer secti9n with a refrugium 🤔

I don't dose nothing at all on my reefer 250 and every thing I's growing awsum and test kits r bang on dossing can do more harm than good sometimes but every tank is different and tuns different
