I went to a resale shop and bought some really pretty designs saucer plates. I was telling my friend about it and she just freaked out on me for using some pretty expensive China. Just the reaction of hearing her on the phone was to me funny… she is into vintage and antiques.. and for me, cut the vintage China saucer that I had bought to make some jewelry with in her mind she just could not fathom it… anyway I thought I’d like to share that story. Hugs 🤗, Michelle

Awesome! I actually just donated 2 boxes of china plates, saucers & cups that I knew I’d never in a million years get to use them ALL…some were multiples too allowing me to keep a couple & donate the others! I thought about how I could maybe offer them to another artist but figured the expense of shipping would end up being more hassle than they were worth!
On another note about your friend’s reaction…I had several boxes of my Mom’s English china from her lifetime that I wanted to sell to collectors & eventually found out that the market for those kinds of collectibles are pretty much nonexistent these days with this current generation! I was informed by an auctioneer that there seems to be an indication that possibly the next generation is trending towards starting that tradition when the grow up BUT I probably won’t be here by then 🤣🤣🤣 soooo I did the math & figured I could get at least 10 pendants out of each plate & IF the sold I could get approximately $35 - $40 each = $350 - $400 but to just sell the plate I’d be lucky to get $10 or $15!!! That made my decision & I’m sure my Mom was smiling down on me for my business sense!! 🤣
You can share my story with your friend & see how she reacts to that! Thx for sharing! Please share your broken china creations as I’d love to see what you create! 🙏😊💚

It’s a beautiful piece you make but just curious why don’t you just use a mosaic cutter way cheaper and takes like less than a minutes… that’s what I use. I wouldn’t have the patience to do what you’re doing with the small drill! mosaic cutter all the way.

Thank you kindly! I do not have good luck with any kind of nippers & feel I have a lot more control with the Dremel! I guess it’s each individuals personal preference, right? My sister-in-law is a great mosaic artist and I’ve experimented with a lot of her tools but settled on working with the rotary tool. I appreciate your interest and your support. 🙏😊

What a beautiful work. I love it🤩. What cutting/ grinding bit were you using for your rotary tool? I have a demel, and I want to set up a wet carving/ cutting station . I'm going to make it in a big plastic bin, kind of like a sandblasting box, but for wet work. Anyways, I'd love to know which of your rotary bits are your favorites, as I am using my Dremel more and more, and I'm upgrading and adding to my rotary bits and burs kit.

Thank you very much! I enjoy creating with broken china! I love your idea for the wet cutting station! I just set up in a corner, hung some plain shower curtain liners on 2 walls & just used a Pyrex rectangular dish with a water & a sponge but your idea sounds perfect!
Here’s a link for the cutting wheels for the rotary tool. I’ve purchased different brands from different places including Amazon, Walmart & Harbor Freight! They all seem about the same in my opinion. I’d love to see what you create! 🙏😊💚

@@karensintuitivejewelry Oh, I liked your wet cutting station. Your shower curtains were cute too. 😊
I have started into carving with my Dremel a lot. Wood mostly, but I want to start stone carving, as well as glass etching, for pendants and give that a try, as well as glass etching with the Dremel.

      @@karensintuitivejewelry Whoops,...well I messed up that last response.lol😂
Anyway, I think you get the point. So, I had tried to make that bin for wood carving indoors, for dust control, but I didn't have the dexterity to wood carve inside of it,...so now I'm just going to make a few alterations and It'll be my wet box.
I looked in your comment, but didn't see the link for your rotary tool cutting bit. Is it just a diamond cutting wheel?
I would be happy to send you pictures of some of my jewelry pieces, but do you have an email associated with your channel? I didn't see one listed on your videos. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? Thank you for responding.😊

I’m afraid I also wouldn’t have the dexterity to work in a box PLUS I imagine my eyesight might be a challenge as well! Good for you though! I don’t use my email much & why I asked if you used Instant Messenger? I’m also of course on Facebook if you wanted to find me there. All my social media links should be listed in the description box but I’m not 100% certain if I listed all that on older tutorials so you can check the newer ones if you’re interested!

@@karensintuitivejewelry Lol,...I feel you. Technology n I are acquaintances,...at best! 😂 Thank you for the link.💖🙏. When I get around to setting up the wet station, I'll have to let you know if and how it works out. Your setup looks very doable and simple too, and I'm all for keeping it simple, inexpensive, and accessible,...so I may just do something similar myself. Appreciate you and your talents! 🙏💖✨
