Luv this!
This is amazing! My soldering always looks rough and pokey. Yours is soo smooth! Maybe I ought to pick up your book 🤔
This is beautiful you make it look so easy.. Thank you for sharing..
Thanks for watching!
Purchased your book. Thank you for sharing
Fun tutorial...I get so inspired by you and look forward to getting your new book I just ordered! Thank you so much for teaching me theses techniques.
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous!!
Thank you!
What tip are you using on you soldering iron? I have such difficulty with getting the balls uniform. Love your solder videos. So helpful and inspiring.
on another video of laura's i think she explains that the temperature has something to do with making the accents.....turning the iron down helps maybe ? i haven't tried yet myself
@@petals_kelly I've been looking for that video for a long time. I wonder which one? :(
Thanks Teresa! Tip does not really matter, though smaller may be easier than a very large one, it's more about temperature - for complete detailed instructions you may find my newest book Soldering Iron Jewelry quite helpful!
Yes it is more about temperature @@petals_kelly
Ugh I don't remember off the top of my head! I do mention it in a few videos, maybe my more recent ones such as the art nouveau soldered scarab necklace or the spikes and talons video. Thanks for watching!@@ezgi9387
Wow this technique is so innovative!!! I bought your book🎉
I was wondering, after you solder the two “railroad track”wires to make the “ribbon” like effect, can the ribbon sections be further bent and adjusted with pliers? Or is it quite set and will get ruined if you try to adjust it afterwards.
Nope, you will not be able to bend it. Enjoy the book!
@@LauraBethLoveGot it, thank you❣️
How do you keep the solder shiny? After time it goes Matt and crusty looking? Thank you :)
Silver solder? Use Silvergleem solder. Polish occasionally when it needs it. Can use caranuba wax. Avoid getting it wet or keeping it in a humid area.
U r fabulous
Hello, what temperature did you use please? You do such wonderful things!
Greetings from Germany
Thanks! You need to play around with the temperature and experiment and find what works best for you - all soldering irons are different so there is no one exact temperature that will work for everyone, each is different!
Also, another quick question,...can you layer patinas? Like black over copper,...or would that not work?
I have never tried that so you would have to experiment and let us know how it goes!
I was wondering if brass wire would work for this as well? I don't have copper or silverplated wire right now, but I do have a roll of brass wire.
Also, I saw Novacan brand has a copper patina as well, and I was wondering how well that will work with Silvergleem solder. Have you tried it? I have heard the copper patina is formulated to work best on the lead solder for stained glass, so I was unsure how well it works on lead free solders, or if there are particular types it does or doesn't work with. I would love to try having different patinas if possible.
I just got your new book and upgraded some supplies so I am super excited to try new techniques like in this video.
You can use brass. The copper patina works on silvergleem, see my newest videos I just did one recently about this. laurabethlove.podia.com/
@@LauraBethLove Oh, that's awesome! I'll go check it out now.😁 Thank you for sharing 🙏💖

How hot is your iron when you are making the decorative drops.
You have to play with it until you find what works for your iron, they are all different!
Hello
Your work is great. Which wire is the coated wire you mentioned at minute 11:09? What did you mean there?
I said you don't have to use copper wire, you could also use silver plated wire.
Thank you very much with all my heart. I use translate and sometimes it translates badly. I've been watching your videos for 1 month. I started and was able to make beautiful things even with a very bad soldering iron. Opportunities are very limited in Turkey, but thanks to you, I will have a new job. I am so happy. My only problem is that I cannot glue the ready-made jump rings. But I'm trying to find a way somehow. silver is very expensive.@@LauraBethLove
@@ezgi9387 You can use copper wire with solder you don’t have to use silver, it’s less expensive. Good luck!
Yes, I tried it for the first time yesterday, but I couldn't get rings of equal size. I have pliers for the smaller rings, but I couldn't find a way to make a smooth circle for the larger ring.
Don't you think the ready-made ones look more professional? 😳@@LauraBethLove
How many watts of soldering machine do you use?
80 or 100 watt, 100 is better
I ca not find any of the red rubber stamp sheets. Any good links you can suggest??
Here are a few nice ones: www.amazon.com/shop/laurabethlove/list/29PA2CFO82747?tag=onamzdishfund-20&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
this is so beautiful! ive been learning to solder and your art has been so inspiring and your videos so informative! may i ask, what metal should jumprings be? i have stainless steel jumprings and the solder beads run away from the jumprings! :( do the jumprings have to be solid sterling silver to be able to solder them to pieces?
Hi! You can use sterling silver, silver plated, nickel, or copper. Thanks for watching! 🌸
what is the tool you're use=ing to smooth out the copper foil?
Burnishing tool - check the description below the video for a link
