  • The KIP Moto - SherpaX Dual Sport Tow-Behind Trailer! www.kipmoto.com
    A rugged lightweight solution built to move more gear with your motorcycle!
    At just 30lbs (13.6kg) and with over 90L of cargo capacity, the SherpaX is designed to greatly increase your cargo capacity with minimum effects on your ride. The benefit of being able to disconnect your SherpaX without tools will allow you to quickly revert your ride from cargo hauler to off road weapon!
    At KIP Moto we set out to design and build the best cargo solution for Dual Sport motorcycling. We simply wanted to be able to pack enough gear and fuel to ride our motorcycles for days. Tired of the fuss of trying to pile camping gear and extra fuel on our bikes making them top heavy and wide. We just want to get on our bikes and ride and you should too!
    With no modification to your bike, you can add a SherpaX trailer and have more than enough room for your gear and fuel. Every SherpaX comes equipped with 2 mounting points for One Gallon ROTOPAX and is designed to use a simple, economical, 90L Rubbermaid Action Packer for all of your cargo.
    The SherpaX is built out of aluminum to be lightweight, strong and rugged. With no paint or powder coating there is no worries of scratching or chipping the paint when you ride the tight trails. Aluminum also won’t rust!
    We have designed a simple tool less system to attach your ShepaX to any motorcycle with a hollow rear axle. It was important that our design be economical and tow behind a bike like nothing is even there.

    Cool. Heads up...I've learned the hard way, not to combine fuel in the same sealed container as my other gear. Changes in pressure from heat, cold and altitude changes cause fuel vapor to leak out and saturate everything else in the container. Have fun.

      The second he put the fuel in there i thought "hell no". BAD IDEA. Who wants to get miles and miles in the middle of nowhere and when you unpack to set up camp, everything is drenched with gas? Not Me!

    That's pretty cool. I love seeing the WR being used by tons of prime for tons of different things. It's definitely not my style but it's an awesome concept/idea for people who would get the use out of it. Much respect to the dude ripping through those beautiful trails like it was nothing with the trailer on!

    I towed a B.O.B. Yak around off and on for about 10-12 years behind various bicycles. Was a pisser to have to sell them. Basically almost never really needed my car if time was not a premium.
    You just pretty much singlehandedly solved how to turn a lightweight sub-frameless enduro bike into an adv rig. Nice work.

    Looks neat. The only things that i would change is a langer wheel for highway use and relocation of the side fuel container to the front or the back of the box so that if you tipp over you will not risk a fuel leak.

      That's my thoughts exactly if he loads on a left hand turn that pack is going to be dragged along the ground and have a good chance of a rupture. Throw in sparks thrown up from the frame and you've got a road fire. And it won't be long before the other container gos boom.

    Let me give some commentaries on your packing. All your heavy items should be as close to the wheel as possible and in the middle for better handling. You don't want to start breaking and your fuel pushing your bike to one side. And also keep your trailer as narrow as possible. You might forget about that rotapax, until you hit a tree trunk or concrete slab and then you gonna fell.

  • @yeniboyut

  • @slrs3908
    @slrs3908 Год назад +1

    Sure is a nice looking rig you have there, but with the front of the trailer having no suspension, the trailer is always going to have a very harsh ride. Suspend the front of the trailer from the bike frame.

  • @Clickmaster5k

    Why dont any of these trailers have front suspension? They are attaching to the rear axle so they don't use the bikes rear suspension.

  • @Gantzz321

    first thing I would do it fill the tire up with foam so it never goes flat. Because watching it corner I saw that it does not turn like a normal trailer. Instead the tire gets pushed side to side over the ground, so wear on the side walls is going to be high, an potential for rolling off the bead. But since it is just a small trailer tire I don't get how smooth it is, so fill it with foam and be done with it for ever.

    • @KIPMoto
      @KIPMoto  6 лет назад +1

      Not a bad idea Greg. Don't forget, trail conditions and bumps etc can kick the trailer around. We have had such bad luck with flats last riding season on our bikes that we should do the foam idea

      Hi Frank. We've had bikes as small as the Honda CRF230 and Yamaha TW200 pull our trailers with ease. One of our in-house trailers is pulled by a Yamaha WR250R. Fully loaded you are looking at right around 90 pounds which is easy to pull by smaller bikes.

      It’s not a good idea to put your gas can in with your gear. Also, are your trailers just for dirt bikes or can scooters tow them as well?

    can they make a two wheeled in line trailer?..a center front wheel to share the hitch load better. or maybe it has to be a couple tilting wheels front or back with wieght shifted toward back. leaning fun. I want to bring a compact 40 pound generator with me.

    I feel like you could have better integrated the spare fuel with cannisters to the bike for a sleek look, and loaded the rest of the stuff into a decent sized givi top box with side panniers, and ditch the trailer completely. Unless I were using the trailer to haul twice the load I wouldn't even bother... But thats just me
