- Homemade Motorcycle Trailer. Riding around town testing how it handles. I wasn't going to do a video on this but I ran into a local who was very interested in it and I figured maybe someone else would be too.

prima-coffee.com/equipment/ra... I got this from a local store but here is one you can get online.
Wire Conector
www.newegg.com/Product/Product... Also available at NAPA. It takes a little bit to slim this down but this is what it started as.

5 to 4 Wire Converter
www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-V... This is not the one that I got. I got mine at NAPA. Any 5wire to 4wire coverter for trailer use should work.

Nice structure and cardan joint is correctly placed for once,
Most self-builders place the cardan joint with the vertical hinge on the side of the trailer, causing the trailer to tip on its side during a short bend or when reversing. Nice video without annoying music!
Nice trailer. I like the suspension and the seat idea.
Absolutely awesome build!!
I might suggest installing a couple small running lights on each side of the trailer for better visibility. Plus, I think it would look pretty good too especially at night.
That's a great idea! I thought about vinyl wrapping it yellow so it matches the bike too.
Great feat of engineering! Love the idea! One could perhaps build a chassis like yours, to fit a car top box...
Great vid, I'm nearly finished with my build!
That’s brilliant looks really well constructed ,ide make it more visible those ,my only concern would be the fact that when I’ve used my car trailer other drivers have not realised I’m towing a trailer and while coming off a slip road have cut in tight behind me and nearly rammed it which is bad enough in a car but could be the end of you on a motorbike.
way cool! Way to go thats an awesome trailer
Awesome trailer !!
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing your knowledge & ideas. I just watched your second video first & left a longer comment there. Cheers!
I'm working on one for myself mow. Thank you for your time
nice trailer, hope i could make one for transporting my mountain bike :)
maybe wiring them to your blinkers so other cars can see your blinkers better especially if the other driver is slightly ahead of the rear trailer lights. Great job!
good day friend very good video of your trailer very well echo congratulations and the second part well explained just fail to say where you subjected the support on the top to the bike?
and the helmet that you use as I can acquire that brand and model is
greetings and good day
Great piece of kit you made there, one addition i would add is some side reflectors to the rear of it on either side, other than that great job,
PS. oh one thing, isnt there a law about how close 2 rear lights are together ?, it might be you could have got away with a single tail light and added separate indicators
Actually, there is a reason to have saddlebags if you have a trailer. As I prepare for retirement, a trailer for my Goldwing is part of my travel plan. The Goldwing’s saddlebags, trunk, a tank bag and my daypack will carry my personal belongings, (clothes, toiletries, etc).
The trailer is for my camping gear and hiking gear, as well as a deep cycle battery and solar panel for a power supply that is independent of the bike.
Have you had any issue using a trailer tire that wasn't designed to lean like it does with the bike? How many miles have you put on so far with the trailer? Thinking about building one for behind my dr650
Great work, well done friend...
Thank you very much!
Muito bom o seu projeto. Gostei demais. Moto com 250cc leva tranquilo?
oh my god it's amazing!!! i want one so i can take my dog around!!! (reckon you could make an interchangeable lid for that?) like you swap out the old lid and replace with one that has a screen and roll-bar(incase) and pop the little fella in there with a seat and a harness!?
You could certainly do that! You could take that little guy everywhere you go! There are more details on how it's built here ruclips.net/video/d7xZSLhQ7lw/видео.html
Make sure to make a shield so the pup doesn’t get rocks in the face 👍🏼
How much does your trailer weigh? It looks great.
I have a big interest and see everything you p[osted, but I did not see the sizes of the frame work. Any chance you can post this info...tubing size and wheel hub? Basically all the metal to build this please.
Thanks for the video! How did you build the hitch on your bike?
I show it a little bit in this video.
ruclips.net/video/d7xZSLhQ7lw/видео.html
Skip to 17:42 and then there is a picture of the design at 19:52. The top is connected to a cross part of the frame just past the end of the seat. For reference, the luggage rack bolts down to the same cross piece.
Hope that's what your after! It's all I've got!
Let me know if I can answer any other questions!
Can you tell me more about the wheel and tyre please
Did you weight it?
Awesome build! Does anything bad happen on quick sharp turns?
Oh no, it trails beautifully! You forget it's even there.
@@mainstreammoto4856 right on, thank you!
ok superrrr
Can you share blueprints with us?
I was curious, have you noticed any difference in gas mileage pulling the trailer?
I haven't checked the mileage. Haven't pulled it far enough a guess.
You're probably outside an arena where the Zamboni dumps the snow.
Have you felt the need to have a flag on the trailer for additional awareness?
A
Excellent. Planning to do the same. What are general dimensions?
The size of the box is 40inch long, 18inch wide and 12inch in height. Overall length is 6 foot 6 inches. It sits 22inches from the ground to the top of the box. When and if I do this again, I would make it shorter (in length). My thoughts were to make it long enough to put a folding camp chair inside (I have downsized my camp chair since this build)
From the ground to where the hitch plugs into the bike is 15'' (381mm). It has 7'' (177mm) of ground clearance. Weight is about 50 to 75 pounds I would guess.... I'm really not sure exactly. If I had to do it again I'd try to lighten it up a little.
Most of the frame is 1X2 (Can't remember the gage... thin stuff) The tongue and hitch is 1 1/2 X 1 1/2, 1/8. Also the swing arm assembly is 1/8 as well with 1/4 plate for reinforcement.
@@mainstreammoto4856 Excellent. Thank you very much. It does look a bit long. A am planing mine around 5 feet in overall length. I think a shorter trailer would be easier to tow and to cut corners.
Are you from Kalispell?
Great idea.. why are you out of breath 😆
Cause I was FAT AND UNHEALTHY!!! hahaha!
superrr
МОЛОДЕЦ!!!!👍👍
Looks like a coffin
Sure does. Should have seen it half way done when it was only bare wood. I was nervous about someone walking in on me while I was building it and getting the wrong impression....
That's what I was gonna say. Don't like to be a repeater, so I read all the comments first. Good build thanks for the info.
ok so whats the point of this has nothing to do with making trailer SB
