Hi John! Your RUclips channel popped up today on my suggested rabbit hole list. Glad to see you are keeping busy and having fun in your retirement! I’m also growing older but not up doing lots of ham radio and surfcasting, often a bit of both on early morning excursions up to the beaches and breachways in RI. 5 years retired now here, think you went a year before me. Are you still soaring in gliders?

Hi Chris, nice to hear from you. Things are going well hear. Quite busy. I run a model airplane club at our local middle school and have lots of fun with that. The model building keeps me busy too. Try and still ride the bicycle a few times a week. And I'm having fun with my RUclips channel. Stepped away from soaring for a bit but doesn't mean I may begin again. Glad to hear you have some activities to get you out of the house once in a while.

Been away for quiet a while and getting caught up and wow, an hour +, longest one yet. Great work on the coverage and the interviews were a great addition to the video. Thanks for the work and appreciated as always.

Hi Mike. Thanks for tuning back in. Yea, this was a long one, but worthy, I think. I had to capture all the talent at this event. We had 89 contestants, and everyone had something to offer. And yes, the interviews have proven to be popular. I've always considered this hobby to be as much about the people as about the models. Thanks for your kind words.

I stopped in on Thursday afternoon on my way back from Massachusetts. Came back on Friday. I came as an observer.
I hung out mostly with the older guy and his daughter under their pop up. I didn’t see them in the video. They were closer to the C-119. Can’t remember their names.

Hey, John? Where can I get information on Rubber Powered Airplane Compititions and where do I go? I don't think they have this in Virginia State, U.S.A..
They are a pretty bunch of models.

From the Washington, DC area expect to spend about 7 hours driving to Geneseo. A good part of the drive will be though rural countryside and quite enjoyable. In addition to attending the contest you'll be able to see a different part of the world. In order to keep costs down I camped at the museum which was fine. If you're in Virginia get in touch with the Maxecuters club. They are in the Washington, DC area and sometimes hosts events. For all things free flight the Flying Aces web site is a good place to start.

@@aviatorsandastronauts I don't think I will spend 3 1/2 days driving to Washington State, U.S.A. any time soon. Yellowstone National Park's Super Volcano started to erupt today.😬
