Personally I think that if you're going to get a custom strap, make it worthwhile and do something that's unique and original. This iteration really doesn't show off what they are capable of, and what they are best known for.

If this strap existed as a product somewhere I would gladly have paid for it and saved the money. The OEM omega strap has a unique thickness that blends it into the lugs and I wanted to keep that look. Didn't want to take any chances with generic straps so I just had one made. Yes they can probably do more but there's nothing wrong with a simple design. Sometimes less is more.

So the straps pants then, such big holes, not exactly tailored for the clasp it’s designed for.

So what was the price??? My phone will not load all 17 previous comments I apologize if it was already asked and I fast forwarded through a lot of your strap changing but what I saw did not mention the price

I don't recall but it was the base price listed on the site. I had no additional features added.

How long did it take to receive after you placed your order? I requested small holes for my Tudor deployment clasp. Hopefully I do not have the same issue.

It took awhile, 3 weeks roughtly.

@John Wick I think after ordering, it takes 3-4 weeks to be delivered, shipping time was pretty short since i m in Canada.

Might as well get the authintic OEM at that price. No thank you. Etsy is where it's at.

I agree, during covid i didn't want the package being stuck in Europe. Next time around ill go with Camille Fournet or Jean Rousseau who are the producer of Omega OEM straps.

@@DavidPhamChannel For me personally it's all about branding and its resale value hold up. Some brands like say Everest have a brand that holds its resale value. So I'm down for it if the band hold strong.

Etsy is where you can get some really good artisans and some real hot garbage masquerading as "bespoke" when its from a Chinese factory and you overpay and get hot garbage. OEM straps are pretty variable some brands have really good straps others are hilariously overpriced and quality is meh. For example omega G10 straps are 200 plus but I can get one of the same quality for 80 bucks from Barton Straps. From the ppl that have gotten his stuff, its quality is far superior to most straps only JLC and its kin are close, as as good as his but not by much.

@@u.u.u9969 well for starters you can have a brand like apple that makes a ton of money but is garbage. Why would you care about resale value, if you dont plan on keeping it why bother in the first place? If you want investments go buy index funds or similar. Bespoke is about buying something made for you and no one else

Do you have a follow-up on this? it's been 90 days so do you have any thoughts ?

Its a decent strap, not sure if its worth the money as you can get straps just as good for quite a bit less. If you are looking for a very distinct design then AB will be good for that. I prefer the quality of the OEM over these, they do cost more but i think they are noticeably better. If you are out of Europe it would be worth looking into Jean Rousseau or Camille Fournet, they are as premium as it gets and the makers of OEM straps for all the big swiss companies.

@@DavidPhamChannel I have communicated with him on IG and he seems to be a great guy but he started adding to the cost as we talked about a strap. He started at $ 170 then I followed up and it went to $ 200 then $ 25 for a Pin Buckle $ 50 for a deployant $ 20 shipping.... Don't get me wrong I understand it's high end product but I felt like he was piling on a bit . He seems to be doing well and probably can name his price.

@@TZOID08 yeah he's pretty popular here in Canada and definitely has a queue of orders. The strap I got was basic and there wasn't any additional fees on the base price. I did request different color stitching for the underside and he said he could do it. Then 2 weeks later he says he can only do it on a machine and I said sure. Then he says he can't do it all cause hes not happy with the quality of machine stitching. Kind of a strange transaction, other than that he seemed like a nice guy and responds to injuries in a timely manner.

Next time you get a bespoke strap and have a certain clasp you want to use how about you send it to them so they can actually work with it and not some abstract thing you want. This is what happens when you dont think about details, kind of a no brainer really. Also Lexol is not great for leather, there are way better products like Leatherique out there.

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  2 года назад

Lexol was recommended to me by a local tanner that makes saddles but I will look out for Leatherique when i need to resupply. An Omega deployant clasp is nothing obscure, Aaron Bespoke even even sells a generic version of it. On their website they even show straps they made specifically for the Omega deployant so nothing about this clasp should be new to them. Yes, details were overlooked but not by me.
