Sajam being tired of the sidelines has been the best part of the recent climbs. I wonder if he'll make his own highlights, or potentially heat up, for the fight of his life. Maybe show them what he's got, because he knows that it's his time. Possibly?
whenever I hear the rapping in third strike, I can picture people hearing the sf6 bars (heroic as a Tiger is) 20 years from now and thinking how corny they are.
Y’know the best thing about Sajam is that he’s clearly a survivalist, he’s heroic as a tiger is. He earned his stripes because he’s so do or die with this. He started really young, so sometimes admittedly the dude is super hard headed, I’d even call him crazy, but I’m not a psychiatrist.
I think that first ryu match was a really good demonstration of how those "how does sajam only fight bad players" type comments are just wrong. At the start, you could see he was struggling to get a grip on jp's movement and putting his gameplan into practice, which made basic flowchart ryu look like he was making these big calculated reads. Within the next game sajam got the most basic understanding of jp's pressure and punish combos and ryu's offense got exposed for just taking these big gorilla swings at all times. It was like sajam leveled up from gold to diamond in 1 game and that was the result.
People that make these sort of claims of someone always fighting "bad players" are always projecting. Just mad scrubs upset someone with less hours adapted and got better than them in less than 5 hours
Can't believe that sajam is playing the character "JP" in his ALL-CHARACTER road to master. I feel betrayed as a viewer... bamboozled and utterly baffled. Minus one true fan.
That matchup talk was spot on. I remember the Hold Back to Block Video. They said it assumes the players have equal skill levels. I could play JP right now and get stomped against a Zangeif, idek JP's normals.
JP has such a cool combo structure, it doesnt feel like SF to me, in a good way. Its honestly a shame people don't have to explore it to be effective with him.
If by being effective with him you mean climb to master then you're right but if you mean win tournaments or becoming a good player then he's the same as anyone else in that optimal conversions are strictly better
Honestly the JP hate is bonkers to me. He's the best new character the series has had in a hot minute. He is a bit overtuned/too well rounded but his design/aesthetic/gameplay is generally really well done. He's also really fun to watch with how much sauce he has. Better than more shotos who are all a scoop of vanilla with a different mix-in each.

being overtuned is the quickest route to having your character eternally hated. Being a zoner with a GOOD defensive option will rocket you into a new tier of hate, and having barely any weaknesses that only THREE characters can take advantage of at max? everyone who doesn’t play those three characters is miserable playing against you, so of course they hate JP.
Really I want his supposed "weakness" to get worse while leaving his good stuff intact He's supposedly bad at mid range neutral, so make him worse, and nerf his OD amnisa and I'm happy
@krazyzyko I'm a jp hater but I think it beating grabs is fine, what I hate are the absurd conversions he can get off of it and other stray mid screen hits.
So once the "Every Character to Master" series is over, what do you think you'll do with SF6? Not asking as a stupid "so you'll drop this game after master rank right?" question, just curious, is this a game you think you'll play regularly through it's lifespan or just as an every-now-and-then kind of thing? I know you play every FG at least a little but just personally where are you at with it?
Just upfront, I'm just Plat 2, but seeing a Diamond 2 Ryu doing a raw full screen Tatsu twice within one round is wild. I thought these were things you only see in lower ranks.
As a Jamie main, i love the JP matchup. JP wins almost all the time, but the rounds i can get in, and go ham, feels like im Invincible. But then, i also like the guile match for the same reason. Maybe im just wierd idk haha. I was a Sakura main in 4, and didnt play 5, and that feels the closest to me to what SF4 Sakura did.
JP is perfect for Sajam since he usually just lets the opponent hang themselves or go spastic 😂😂😂 With JP he can just keep them at bay while they flail 😂😂😂
i’ve decided i just don’t hate jp that much anymore. ken juri and cammy are worse to fight against. getting zoned in sf6 feels better than getting rushed down and i’m not even good enough for most of jp’s bullshit to affect me.

In the same scenario, someone mastering multiple characters, then playing JP for an hour, no way you're beating them 100 straight. I'm betting $1000 on the JP every time. They'll catch a W in the first 20. Be humble buddy. We don't watch you because you're a pro at this game and climbing from diamond for 3-4 hours to master is in no way some gate opening to being a good player.
