We have both in our stable, as well as a pair of Royal Enfield Himalayans. Having ridden fat tire mountain bikes, I can say the TW is probably the most fun I've ever had under power. One drawback though-it'll seduce you into doing stuff you'll ride away from having completed, thinking " I really should have known better. after all, I'm supposed to be an adult!". In other words, it'll turn you back into a 10 year old on his first bicycle!
I’m from switzerland and have a yamaha tw 125 and it’s so much fun having it. I can drive in the city and when I’m bored I just leave it and drive into the forest.
I own the 2019 Tw with Dg pipe carb tune. I traded with a XT 250 for about 5 miles.. The XT is best suited for road while the Tw shines in the trails... It is the Trail Way after all... The low seat height and low gearing make it more of a tank feeling than the XT. The XT definitely runs better over 45mph.. Another pro is the Tw is built to almost the same specs over 35 years ago and you feel the difference.
Nice! The tdub was my go2 bike during motorcycle class. But after graduation and after some extensive research, i bought the xt250 instead. Both are great bikes indeed. It's more about what you prefer and what best suits you. Thanks for sharing!
Good review / content. Well spoken and logical. From an overall performance standpoint, I see what you are saying about the fuel injected motor. But at the same time I think that there is something still to be said for SHEER simplicity from a mechanical perspective. The TW just exudes mechanical confidence and that stems from its simplicity. Up on a trail in the middle of nowhere with limited tools, I'd probably take the carbureted bike.
I have 750 miles on mine and the engine is starting to open up more. This bike has been so useful in learning to ride, getting over obstacles or situations with all the rainfall and avoiding people trying to run me off the road, yes someone did and my TW gracefully went off the road and back on. (middle aged female in a mid sized SUV, probably on her cell). Transportation is supposed to be utilitarian, like a truck is vs a car. This bike can get you through the apocalypse if necessary. It's fun to ride and pretty peppy for a 200cc. I love Yamaha products. I have the T7 as well.
This is driving me crazy I'm getting ready to buy one. I can't find any tws looks like I'm doin the xt. But I wanted to rife em side by side. I test rode a tw 10 years ago lol I can't remember how it rode
I'm lucky enough to have a WR250R and a WR250X. Absolutey wonderful and fun bikes with two different purposes. At 60 years old, I plan on keeping both until I can't ride anymore. I really want a TW also.
like your rear disc on the fat girl- where do i get one? i have a carb'd xt btw and i love the motor but not the suspension. i have one of your 12" inch wheel kits- thank you for making such a product available for the masses- machinists are getting hard to come by. i have have 2 extra frames before i found your product but i''m hoping to low ride one for my daughter- she's a pretty good welder where i can barely mig

Small edit; the tw will do anything, just don't ask it to do it in a hurry

TWs are very VERY fun farm equipment. XTs are built for different purposes. Having both is a great choice.

I went from a Kawasaki Z-125 Pro to an XT250
@crypticreality8484 Sweet! Great bike! Still love mine and planning to do some mountain riding pretty soon(moto camping, hopefully). ✌️🙏
@@theonehavingthekey5966 I have an XT250 and I'm looking forward to this Summers Montana adventures

T-Dub says to the XT250 "I think I see sand and mud up there... You better wait here."
That's a good one😂
XT says to the TW "I think there's some river rocks and logs on this trail, take the long way, I'll have the camp site set up when you get there."

Short, simple and to the point, thanks!
Show the bikes while he is talking. That's what the video is supposed to be about.
One is a motorbike. One is farm equipment. Both are cool

Now what you need is the XT1200
Great job on the video!
How about the TW225 conversation?
I bought a wr250r. The seat height was a bit intimidating at first but I’m used to it now. Yee haaa!
Now those are savages! Keep it! A gem of a bike.
I'm a newer rider and only 5 ft 7 otherwise, I would seriously want one of those
@@crypticreality8484 I’m only 5’4

@@SigmaSheepdogi also have MT07 I want 4 bikes eventually lol
Anyone know how they compare stock form with doing wheelies? Nobody who reviews both of these bikes talks about that. Frustrating.
WR 250 r has more horse power than xt & much better suspension except its tall for a short rider.

Is there any difference between the engine?
Yes the engines are totally different in every way.
Show the bikes not the rider, didn't see any of the machines
TW200 has 16hp. XT250 has 18hp.
My sources show 12 hp on the TW and 18 on the XT.
@@bradleyperformanceproducts It may depend on the year. I googled Yamaha tw200 and it said 16hp and 11 torques.
