  • In this video Fox takes a tall dresser (or chest of drawers) and makes it shorter!
    Will the cats approve? Watch it to the end to find out! 😉

    This is exactly what i'm planning on doing and i searched it on youtube to see if there's someone else as crazy as me enough to do it lol. My dresser is too tall and overwhelms my little bedroom.

    It's always fascinating to watch you refurbish/repair such a variety of objects. The finished dresser looks lovely.

      It's good to be back! 😊 I was busy with house repairs, and then the flu, and then the other strain of the flu! November was rough! 🥴

    Gee, I sure could use your help with my dresser, lol. Poor old thing is falling apart (and it was old when I was little.... a few decades ago)! Wow, your revamping was really, really nice. And I love the googly eyes on the mallet!

      Poor thing! Maybe it's a good opportunity for some refurbishing? 😉
      Everything is better with googly eyes! 😁

    🤣 When I buy something new, I also need to check if it is cat approved! If my cat lays on it, then it means that I chose well 😁. Once again, you produced a beautiful and sturdy object. Congratulations!

    Could you possibly do a video showing how to convert shallow drawers into deep drawers

    • @SculptyWorks
      @SculptyWorks  Год назад

      I would need to have some shallow drawers that I wished to convert into deep drawers.
      Depending on the drawers, let's say if I were to do that on this dresser, I would fasten the fronts of the drawers with the front piece that divides them, and then remove the bottom of the top drawer, and either fasten all the sides with some wood between them or make new side pieces of the needed height. It would still look like there were two drawers, but when opened it would reveal to be one big one. 😉
      Alternatively, one could simply cut the front support piece off, and make a big drawer from scratch to fit the enlarged drawer opening.

    What tools are you using?

      Mostly saws, a hammer, a screwdriver, and a tablesaw at one point because I didn't feel like cutting the back by hand. 😉

    What saws are you using?

      The big one is a Japanese pull saw and the little one is a mini dovetail saw (that isn't that great).
