Please, if you guys decide to make Spychangers to go along with these make them as Deluxes so they can ride in the trailer too and be size accurate to the show! They deserve to be full fledged figures, not Cores just because the originals were repaints of pre-existing tiny figures. Great work on this set!
Remember that joke they made recently after having shown off Legacy Armada Wheeljack? The one where they're going to reuse the Siege Sideswipe base mold another 20 times? Spychangers. Spychangers everywhere.
@@edz8872 They could easily get all 6 but why stop there? Go for all 10 unique molds not including X-Brawn, Scourge, Optimus and Magnus. Two decos on each of those 10 and there's the 20 they joked about. And I'd much rather they made Ironhide and Mirage out of Siege Sideswipe instead of making them out of Legacy Strongarm and Kingdom Mirage or something. A Siege Sideswipe based Mirage could still work for Skid-Z too. It would work better than Tow-Line from Scraphook by far.

All that's left is a pick up truck and a Formula 1 Race car (dragster?) which we can get from others... don't recall any pick up truck transformers though. maybe some other car transformers could become the other spy changers instead of one mold being used for 4 of em
I'm really impressed with how confident Evan's grown over the last few years. When these first started he admitted that he wasn’t big into being on camera and was super uncomfortable. Now he's a natural. He seems like a really cool guy and i hope to meet him some day at a con or something.

Love how these still hold the spirit of the original releases while giving them obvious updates for better articulation, stability, etc. Also love the tease of more features we don't know about like the hidden Omega Prime mode, can't wait to have this set in-hand next year.
The hidden mode sounds so useful! I was worried about shelf space since I'd have to display the battle station, and the ladder would make things awkward.
as someone who had the original, this one's a pretty good upgrade so far. tolerances and looseness will have to be seen in hand to really know if it is better but it certainly is beating the original so far

@@zacharymonce7595 I am generally hesitant to give advice, since I don't want to steer someone on the wrong path. However, if there is one piece of advice I can offer. I'd say the main thing is to work on your drawing skills. In my experience, most companies have their factories in Asia handle the engineering side of things, whilst all the art and design stuff is handled in the US when it comes to US companies. I unfortunately do not have knowledge as to how European of Asian toy companies work.
Its a testament to the quality of the original toys that these havent changed all that much. That blue and silver grill ultra magnus has is as godly as ever and his changes in particular are very good. It really polishes his robot mode and omega supreme into what they were meant to be.
Love that you guys were able to add in the missile/gun barrels I suggested back when the kickstarter launched. I wish you had (or had been able to) made it so you could attach the Matrix(s) to either side of the sword crossguards/base so it could truely be the MATRIX BLADE.
@@DanDen-gh7si I would not rule that out as possible. I think they just want to avoid what happened with Deathsaurus being delayed in some regions when he shipped on time in the US.
It's perfect. Truly, it is. I particularly love how faithful it is to the original. Sometimes modern TF toys can be complicated for the sake of being complicated. Trying to clean up the robot mode a bit too much or adding that extra bit of articulation really takes me out of the transformation process with so many steps and little things to watch out for. But this guy has been modernized without overcomplicating things. For the most part everything seems like it can be done without having to stare at the instructions. And considering it's two Commanders (and a Deluxe) that combine into one, that's saying something.
Love the synthwave intro with the anime era font, it's awesome and nostalgic! Much like how I kinda remember the franchise back in the early 2000s when I was a kid! I couldn't be any happier for "Car-Robots / Robots-In-Disguise" treatment here!
Please Hasbro follow up & release the entire Robots in Disguise 2001 toyline into the modern era especially the combiners like Ruination, Landfill & Rail Racer. They massively need to be included in legacy. Truly underrated show.

Absolute best news in the video came at the end: he'll have a way to attach the Fire Convoy parts to his Omega Prime mode! The original had a 100% unofficial way to combine them, but it was fiddly as hell and just kind of held together with prayer.
I hope Hasbro is reading comments and can see how much people are excited that someone who knows what he is talking about is in video... Those casual references to "old figure", "animation" and everything about new toy and tooling just shows how much he knows and cares about the work he does. Heck, he is even explaining diferences between working samples of toys.
These designs look fantastic! As others have stated, the Robots in Disguise line was my very first introduction to Transformers as a child. I had every single Spychanger and loved them dearly. It’s a part of my childhood that I still carry with me to this day. It would be fantastic if you could include the same Spychangers with these! Thanks again :)
Metal rod in the sword is a great idea to sfiffen it. They were always flimsy on the Japanese gift set Omega Prime and regular release of Fortress and Grand Maximus.
Great job Evan! There is definitely a future for you in ASMR content if want to dip your toes in those waters. Your voice and the way you transformed Omega Prime and explained all the deferent parts, first rate. I didn't even back this HasLab. but still watched the whole video, because you did such a good job.
As someone who still has my original RID Prime from back in the day, I enjoy seeing the little differences. The old one is already so close to a perfect toy I’m all about the new details.
I was already excited to get this guy after backing him on day 1. Now I'm even more excited! Especially with the new added stuff. And the vague surprise at the end REALLY amped me up! I can't wait!
The more I see of this, the more I’m happy I preordered. The originals were some of my first Transformers toys, and they’re still some of my favorites even though I no longer own them. This looks like a perfect modern update to the originals. I’m glad they brought the original toy designer on board to design these. It truly feels like a love letter to fans who grew up with RID. This set is gonna be the centerpiece of my collection.
I felt vindicated from the moment the numbers of backers ended at double the original goal with how a lot of Geewanners was complaining about the announcement of this haslab and doubted that it was gonna be successful. One guy even said that the haslab should have been a drop of a bunch of retro re-releases of G1 figures or something.
Please make more videos like these. I love hearing from the design team about the figures. They have an infectious passion for their craft that needs to be highlighted more, particularly with the 40th Anniversary. These folks, and the folks who help craft the rest of Transformers media, are who we fans want to hear from.
YES! I always displayed mine with the Fire Convoy bits attached to just REALLY make it massive, so hearing that was considered for this is just icing on the cake.
It's so cool to see how everything works and what was updated from the OG version. I didn't get a chance to get the OG version in 2001, so having this as a second chance wasn't an opportunity I was going to miss. Can't wait for this to arrive!
I greatly appreciate how the Haslab team has been able to retain so many features of the original toys while enhancing the articulation, proprtions, and overall stability. Hopefully these come out sooner than Fall 2025. It's going to be so hard to wait that long.

I regret not picking this up. Wasn't a big Car Robots fan. Coupled with the recent Star Wars and Ghostbusters Haslab purchases I had just done lol I just couldnt bring myself to pick it up. Oh well. Happy to those who will get him.
Very cool, wish I backed it but I'm basically a G1er. I still appreciate the other iterations of Transformers so I'm happy for everyone that's getting it.

As someone who got three, I’m very happy it’s coming in separate boxes. My biggest concerns are the joints in its omega mold and the ladder fully extended with something on the end of it(cs who wouldn’t want a core class at least being able to stand on the end without it falling down). Primes arm guards sliding back is awesome. I see a lot of finger comments around the internet and I feel at least the index and middle should be separate from the pinky and ring if all aren’t articulated. The pricing seems very fair for what we are getting but only if this figures paint and articulation holds. All the new neat things revamp it well, keep up the good work and keep listening!!! Forgive me if I missed something, I’ll be watching this again after work!
Just remember to not tighten the 5 mm posts/ports to the point that it feels like I can't separate them, 'cause on some of my more recent figures that stuff's been annoyingly tight.

Wish we could've seen a combiner wars bruticus and legacy rid scourge comparison for combine/super mode and base figures respectively, otherwise Omega Prime looks fantastic.
My favorite versions of these characters. My main complaints were always with Ultra Magnus and you fixed them. His upper thighs always looked weird on Omega Prime and that gap around his chest. My other complaint was how the tires just fell apart. I hope that was fixed in this version as well

Nice preview. To be honest, other than some reshaped/redesigned parts, not much major changes to the transformation/engineering. But then again, the new joints compared to the old ball joints are more welcomed.

Super excited about this Transformer! One of my favorite shows and had the original toy as a teenager. The amount of articulation on Omega Prime and Ultra Magnus are huge improvements! Nice job to the team on this and so glad I backed this! I do have one concern though. Watching you manipulate the fire ladder in truck mode and super made has me a little concerned. I know this is a very early engineering sample but if you can make the ratchets stronger to hold the ladder up when extended in truck more and over the should in super mode that would great. Again great job and thanks Evan for showing this off to us! Can't wait for future updates! Edit: Also thanks for editing Evan for going above and beyond with the screen shot!
I hate that I couldn't get this. But I knew at the time the GI Joe HasLab would be coming just a couple of months later. Couldn't justify both. At least I have my original Car Robots Fire Convoy and God Magnus to display.
This was my first Transformers purchase since I was a kid, but this made me really appreciate how detailed and high-quality the prints/paints on these figures are.
I had a few ideas/requests after watching that you may try in future episodes or via instagram, but whether you do them or not is up to you! I'm putting them in no specified order below: Macro pictures by Future Evan showing your favorite sculpted areas, or even how the matrix looks up close in its proper colors Reverse-transformation steps to show us how to safely disassemble stuff like Ultra Magnus's robot mode, the Optimus foot clips in Super mode, Omega Prime, etc. as needed. A picture or demonstration of how the Cerebros minifigure looks on another figure as a head, such as the recent TR Cerebros. I don't believe we've seen how the face sculpt looks if it were painted. A silly set of photos for how Ultra Magnus looks shaking the hands of other commander class figures you have! SS86 Ultra Magnus would be interesting to see. Showing off where the stand adapter ports on all of Optimus/Magnus's modes would be beneficial to those who own figure stands! A group shot of Optimus, Magnus, Side-Burn, Scourge, and Tow-Line! Love to see representation! And finally, since you mentioned it, a vertical picture of how Omega Prime looks holding the matrix blade next to a titan for size comparison! Thank you for the video, I hope to see more soon! Excited to learn more about that hidden mode!
RID Ultra Magnus is my favorite Transformer toy of all time and seeing him actually be able to strike a pose is mind blowing. Absolutely beautiful work!
Just want to say thank you for the video. This video is the only thing I can enjoy out of the figure since owning one is near impossible for a non US resident. Happy for all who can afford it and have on their hands a piece of their childhood. For me, this is enough.

Man this looks awesome I really wish we were getting him in March of 2025 instead of late 2025 but I guess they have other haslab projects that are being worked on as well either way this figure is gonna be awesome
@@wassembashir2618 Well RID Prime was announced back January 2024 then in March of 2024 it was successfully crowd funded, so I'm going to guess that figure didn't fully start production till at least late March or early April with the pre-production sample I would guess what we see in this video. When Deathsarus pre-production sample was shown off to when it was released it was about six months but since were technically getting like two commander class figures and a deluxe I can see it taking longer plus Hasbro was pretty late when they released Deathsarus since I think he was supposed to come out in the Fall of 2023 but instead came out in Winter of 2023 and some in Europe not till early 2024. I've heard somewhere from one of the Designers and it may have been during comic con that they wanted to give RID prime a bit of a longer production time, so they don't run into the same shipping issue they had with Deathsaurus. So, although I would love to see RID Prime to drop in March of 2025 I think Hasbro is going to stick with the release window of Fall of 2025 sometime around October or November would be my guess but hey you never know I'm just surprised they already have a pre-production sample already but I think we'll just have to wait and see in another six months to see where they are at with this guy.

I regret not picking this up. Wasn't a big Car Robots fan. Coupled with the recent Star Wars and Ghostbusters Haslab purchases I had just done lol I just couldnt bring myself to pick it up. Oh well. Happy to those who will get him.
Very cool, wish I backed it but I'm basically a G1er. I still appreciate the other iterations of Transformers so I'm happy for everyone that's getting it.

As someone who got three, I’m very happy it’s coming in separate boxes. My biggest concerns are the joints in its omega mold and the ladder fully extended with something on the end of it(cs who wouldn’t want a core class at least being able to stand on the end without it falling down). Primes arm guards sliding back is awesome. I see a lot of finger comments around the internet and I feel at least the index and middle should be separate from the pinky and ring if all aren’t articulated. The pricing seems very fair for what we are getting but only if this figures paint and articulation holds. All the new neat things revamp it well, keep up the good work and keep listening!!! Forgive me if I missed something, I’ll be watching this again after work!

Just remember to not tighten the 5 mm posts/ports to the point that it feels like I can't separate them, 'cause on some of my more recent figures that stuff's been annoyingly tight.

Cant wait to see the super armor be added to make Super Omega Prime! Hopefully looks great but this is already amazing.
Wish we could've seen a combiner wars bruticus and legacy rid scourge comparison for combine/super mode and base figures respectively, otherwise Omega Prime looks fantastic.
My favorite versions of these characters. My main complaints were always with Ultra Magnus and you fixed them. His upper thighs always looked weird on Omega Prime and that gap around his chest. My other complaint was how the tires just fell apart. I hope that was fixed in this version as well

I have my original set still in my collection. The series was short and sweet but the figures were amazing! Can’t wait to have this updated figure!

To be honest, other than some reshaped/redesigned parts, not much major changes to the transformation/engineering. But then again, the new joints compared to the old ball joints are more welcomed.
Honestly surprised you didn't use the RID Scourge for size comparisons since that was another Legacy character you've made.

Super excited about this Transformer! One of my favorite shows and had the original toy as a teenager. The amount of articulation on Omega Prime and Ultra Magnus are huge improvements! Nice job to the team on this and so glad I backed this! I do have one concern though. Watching you manipulate the fire ladder in truck mode and super made has me a little concerned. I know this is a very early engineering sample but if you can make the ratchets stronger to hold the ladder up when extended in truck more and over the should in super mode that would great.
Again great job and thanks Evan for showing this off to us! Can't wait for future updates!

I hate that I couldn't get this. But I knew at the time the GI Joe HasLab would be coming just a couple of months later. Couldn't justify both. At least I have my original Car Robots Fire Convoy and God Magnus to display.
This was my first Transformers purchase since I was a kid, but this made me really appreciate how detailed and high-quality the prints/paints on these figures are.
I cannot wait to animate this!

I had a few ideas/requests after watching that you may try in future episodes or via instagram, but whether you do them or not is up to you! I'm putting them in no specified order below:
Macro pictures by Future Evan showing your favorite sculpted areas, or even how the matrix looks up close in its proper colors
Reverse-transformation steps to show us how to safely disassemble stuff like Ultra Magnus's robot mode, the Optimus foot clips in Super mode, Omega Prime, etc. as needed.
A picture or demonstration of how the Cerebros minifigure looks on another figure as a head, such as the recent TR Cerebros. I don't believe we've seen how the face sculpt looks if it were painted.
A silly set of photos for how Ultra Magnus looks shaking the hands of other commander class figures you have! SS86 Ultra Magnus would be interesting to see.
Showing off where the stand adapter ports on all of Optimus/Magnus's modes would be beneficial to those who own figure stands!
A group shot of Optimus, Magnus, Side-Burn, Scourge, and Tow-Line! Love to see representation!

RID Ultra Magnus is my favorite Transformer toy of all time and seeing him actually be able to strike a pose is mind blowing. Absolutely beautiful work!
Just want to say thank you for the video. This video is the only thing I can enjoy out of the figure since owning one is near impossible for a non US resident. Happy for all who can afford it and have on their hands a piece of their childhood. For me, this is enough.

Man this looks awesome I really wish we were getting him in March of 2025 instead of late 2025 but I guess they have other haslab projects that are being worked on as well either way this figure is gonna be awesome

@@wassembashir2618 Well RID Prime was announced back January 2024 then in March of 2024 it was successfully crowd funded, so I'm going to guess that figure didn't fully start production till at least late March or early April with the pre-production sample I would guess what we see in this video. When Deathsarus pre-production sample was shown off to when it was released it was about six months but since were technically getting like two commander class figures and a deluxe I can see it taking longer plus Hasbro was pretty late when they released Deathsarus since I think he was supposed to come out in the Fall of 2023 but instead came out in Winter of 2023 and some in Europe not till early 2024. I've heard somewhere from one of the Designers and it may have been during comic con that they wanted to give RID prime a bit of a longer production time, so they don't run into the same shipping issue they had with Deathsaurus. So, although I would love to see RID Prime to drop in March of 2025 I think Hasbro is going to stick with the release window of Fall of 2025 sometime around October or November would be my guess but hey you never know I'm just surprised they already have a pre-production sample already but I think we'll just have to wait and see in another six months to see where they are at with this guy.
They said somewhere in August I believe but there is a slight chance it will be earlier based on the production progress.
