coy is smart. he makes any interation a smart episode. sometimes they have funny people on with only funny takes and those are funny episodes. both are nice but i personally prefer this.

In the previous episode, Bastion showed Sinister the footage of Charles with the Sh'iar (sp?). He said that they got a satellite from somewhere.
I almost exclusively listen to the break room on Twitch, while I'm at work. It's a pain in the butt listening it on mobile, but the extra laughs I get from behind the scenes are worth it. Whenever I've got free time, I'll go back and watch The vibes on Twitch though.

The first sign we saw of an absolute point was the death of Christine. But she didn’t die in the original movie, (before divergent timelines) so absolute points can only be across certain branches.

I think at the end of the season the xmen team, as we know it fractures. I can see Rogue and cyclops defecting to magneto with what has happened so far. They all join forces with magneto to defeat bastion, but some of the members end up staying sided with magneto at end.

Still want Gambit back. That's all I have to say. The show has been amazing, but I'm still so upset at Gambits death. I think Disney underestimated how many people love that character, he always gets shafted. He got killed halfway through the series, and he got shafted in the movies. Leave Gambit alone Disney, remember it.
What if the teams split in almost a blue and gold way? I could see Wolverine and rogue going with Magneto and Jean and possibly Cyclops siding with Xavier.

49:18 X-Man is Nathaniel Grey. Scott and Jean's son and if they bring him in it would be AWESOME! He's just as strong psychicly as Xavier & Jean. I can picture Apocalypse may have captured him & that he is subconciously shouting for help telepathically from this worlds version of his mother(s)

From the title i thought you guys would be answering 97 lingering questions, i was like 'wow that's a lot of questions'
While I agree that bone claws Wolverine detracts from his overall character, the Fatal Attractions Wolverine issue (#75, I think?) was a big one for me. Almost a bottle episode. Then the following issues where he decided to go on a road trip and rediscover himself while being much more vulnerable was a great moment. The setup more so than the execution.

I really wish this inspires Disney to make more vintage era animated series as a sequel series. The original Spider-Man the Animated Series of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, or Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes would be awesome to have as a revival series. Bring in into the larger MCU canon as an actual alternate earth where everyone is animated.
First thing I look for in a panel is Maude and Gina. In lieu of them I'll take a Coy or an Eric. After that the topic starts to matter.

18:23 @Coy Jandreau, you're saying what I've been for a month+ now. Launch X-Men right and it feeds a number of spin-offs instead of strict sequels that do just what you're saying abou leveraging TV. My idea isn't quite Generation X, but 2nd and 3rd tier mutants can certainly be built up.
Picture it, Sicily, 2027 😂, X-Men comes out with a heavy focus on Storm, with her leading the likes of Wolverine, Nighcrawler, Colossus, Sunfire, Thunderbird and Banshee to save a captured First Class team. By the end of it, they're all mostly together, but there's reason to address multiple other problems:
- Follow Storm doing X-Men Red stuff
- Follow Wolverine going dark with X-Force
- Follow Cyclops and Jean into Disney Plus to deal with X-Men Gold stuff (set either off-world or another dimension so they're temporarily free of the developments in the movies)
- follow other mutants onto other MCU teams
I must stress though that a proposed X-Men Disney Plus show(s) should NOT be used to build up to a movie event. The MOVIE hypes the show, the show needs its own self-contained arc(s), and it needs its exit mechanism to allow 2 or 3 characters to eventually rejoin/join the proceedings in the movies later on (e.g., Scott and Jean return from space and help in 2031's 'X-Men Red 3' or something to that effect, without anything from the show being too relevant to that movie.
Pre-goo got my cousin caught up. Gotta be careful out here
What if Bishop comes back like Doctor Strange in endgame and brings all the mutants from the future X-Men the brotherhood?

Well these absolute points are not really so absolute when they are not… Like in “What if…?” Christine had to die because it is an absolute point but she is alive in every other version we’ve seen of her. Are absolute points stuck to their universe? And are timelines and universes different with different absolute points. Why can Cable and other X-men travel through time endlessly without the TVA intervening? Is there a sacred timeline within every universe with branching timelines so Loki is just holding one tree in a whole forrest?

Maybe they can use the 97 Genosha attack as the reason why the X-men haven’t been known and the government hid it all this time
I think the Idea that a mutant tragedy is inevitable and a fixed point diminishes the entire point by taking away the blame from the human opressors and putting it all on fate

X-men vs avengers
I don't want to see live action X-Men now, apart from the occasional mutant here and there. This format and this storytelling pace and style is just perfect.

Turn the entire mcu into just xmen 97 style shows and movies. The animation style is perfect. Hell just create an A(nimated)MCU in this style. It makes it easier to build out more obscure or unkown characters.
That's a cool idea. But having ONLY an animated MCU franchise is not a wise decision for multiple reasons.
I only ask that marvel heroes provide refuge and protrctiin for local mutants and humans. X Men are the ones to take out the big bad
Look I love the MCU. Thor is in my top three favorite characters. Seriously, I love them all. BUT Marvel = X-Men. It just is what it is. In the 2000s they tried to lessen the popularity of the X-Men, and it didn't work. I hope that the X-Men is the future of the MCU and that they are able to do it right. They need to be careful because Marvel has been a bit um.. messy lately.
X-Men '97 is great. I love it. I don't think it's been perfect though. The pacing has been off.. feels rushed at times.
Balance is off as well. I think Episode 8 did a great job with it (finally). Almost all the characters got their time to shine and in my head THAT is what the X-Men is. The X-Men is the best TEAM. I think Beast and Wolverine have been wasted for the most part. I know they said they wanted to take the focus off Wolverine, BUT they went too far. The first 7 episodes he did nothing. Someone mentioned to me that he took off a Sentinels head in Ep. 1.. yeah.. sure he did that charged up by Gambit, but notice that Cyclops slowing his landing with an optic blast got more screen time? Weird.
So finally Wolverine gets some love. It was glorious. I hope we get more. And sorry Coy, I normally agree with him, but bone claws are awesome and make total sense. Recently rereading Weapon X, when the forearms unexpectedly took more adamantium and what not.. just bad ass. Plus that comic issue after Logan got it ripped out when he was in the Danger room and popped the claws.. Damn sooooo good. And then when he wrote letters to everyone when he left... fuck.. Actually if they wanted to take the focus off of Wolverine and went that way I would understand it. Maybe Wolverine gets the adamantium ripped off. He leaves.. season 2, now Wolverine and so no focus on him, BUT we get a movie of him with bone claws and becoming Death? Then Season 3 he is back on the team?
