The Sundown was specifically made to fit in enclosures less than 3" deep, that's why it has no vent holes directly in the back and why it is so squat. Just thought I'd fill you in since it was obvious you were hating on sundown. I had a meso 8 and wasn't very impressed but to each their own. 👍🏻
I like CT and what they are trying to do, but the SA is a superior subwoofer. And cast aluminum baskets are much better than "thick" steel baskets. I feel like he is just fanboying CT now, a little disappointed.

Sundown has cooling, it’s just not in the motor, it’s between the spider and motor. These are designed as a shallow mount subwoofer. The lack of cooling in the motor allows it to mount directly against the back of the box. So, this isn’t apples to apples between the Sundown and CT Sounds Meso.
@David_rios talking about fan boys OMG. Last vid I seen guy said same thing you said, blah blah but not sundown not no china mess. You must of never had one you got new or even watched this video. Lil tip. The way the terminals are mounted makes it almost impossible to get in the box. Take a small screwdriver and put it in the terminal and turn it clockwise 90°. Makes it so much easier!
Yes. We welt over that on live one day. Doesn't make a difference tho. They model the same it likely has a stiffer spider to stop it from bottoming out, which it still does

I think the biggest consideration is the cost. Im still working on design an enclosure that'll work decent for all 3 woofers. I can tell you, on paper the sundown is slightly better. But it cost $30 more. The meso is only $10 more than the sundown. Its gonna be a ceap shoot

Depends on the power
I'm interested in how they work as door speakers. I was thinking about doing that as rear fill with an active front stage
Its not a speaker its a subwoofer. Meant to play like 120hz and down.
Don't play vocals well. But im going to add it as a sub
