I like how Sato immediately accepted the outcome of the bet when Daniel broke the ice. No bitching and no complaining. It shows the difference between his personality and his nephew's personality. But I'm pretty sure on the inside he was mad as hell.
It pretty much showed that sato truly was honorable through his actions unlike his nephew who said he was honorable but always cheated people and blamed them for finding out.
It's called old school honour.
I mean you can tell he was pissed when he said "don't embarrass your uncle ever again."

Actually Okinawa has pretty good Chinese food because Okinawa has been the crossroads between Japan and China for centuries.
Why was Chozen still hostile towards Daniel even after he succeeded in breaking six pieces of ice?
What’s funny is Daniel’s initial reaction to having Miyagi bet on him. He just explained to the girl why the first dude wasn’t able to break the ice, and yet despite that, one of the first excuses he gives Miyagi is that first dude couldn’t do it so neither can he. That’s what fear does, man. Makes you give excuses that even you know are bs.
Dude coming up in the MMA world there's so much of this to deal with. Every time I've fought it ended up being way easier and more enjoyable than I anticipate, but in the moments leading up to it your mind comes at you with all kinds of fear and doubts.
I appreciate your perspective, maybe it's the way you worded it but you're 100% right about excuses that we know are bs. Thanks man
Great comment
So true.... It really gives some meaning to the saying "the only thing to fear is fear itself". Almost nothing can hold you back more than your own fear. It also makes you lie to yourself and make up excuses to go against your gut or even your long held morals. Fear is scary shit lol.
“But it’s ok to lose to opponent…except this time since we would lose $600, Daniel-son. Don’t disappoint me”
Mr Myagi got them fooled. He let Daniel pray for like several minutes giving time for ice to melt before hitting it. 😂😂😂🙏
i love how Sato was staring at Daniel as he was breathing. A quick glance to the ground and at his stance confirms the kid just might be able to do it. When Daniel does break all six, the disappointment isn't so much that he lost a bet and that Miyagi's student was able to do it, but also that HIS student Chozen would never have been able to pull it off. Chozen didn't even believe it was possible and publicly embarrassed him AGAIN.

I was in high school and taking Karate lessons when the first two films came out.
The character of Miyagi was based on a real man who also taught in my home town. He had a couple of old vehicles like Miyagi does. He trained his students in ways similar to the movie but not so "Hollywoodized". He was the highest ranking master of his school (Goju Ryu) in the Western hemisphere. Old men from Japan and Okinawa would come to train with him. I never got to meet the man but he was a friend of my Karate teacher.

@Da Bean They got no patience
This is the only comment I laughed at, I understand your pain 😂😂😂
Lol at least he wasn't one if the ones who bought a picture of a PS5 on EBAY cuz they didn't read the info
@Da Bean yeah, but then the scalpers buy the ones that come out again. It’s a never ending loop.
3 to 1 on $600 I don't gamble so I don't know if this was a good bet
I love Sato’s look on face - knowing - Daniel is gonna break ice when he meditates. Sato realized that second, Myagi taught Daniel their exact ways. Sato was pissed, but little proud.
Mixing those hands motions and matching your inhales/exhales really centers you and helps focus. I love it
- Dad, how do I break ice at parties?
- Lemme show you.
It's all in the hips
Pray
It's all in the wrist....
And hammer 🔨
At 2:20 you could already see the defeat in Satos eyes, he already knew he was gonna lose this bet, and that Miyagi had a much better, more honorable student than he.
@FishFossil more honorable yes better no I feel Chozen could beat both Johnny and Barnes
Chozen and Johnny was thought to use karate to fight while Barnes came up more modern day traditional karate competing different types of tournaments and won
@@arronmatsuyama5417 being a better student isn’t always being more gifted or talented. Chozen may have generally been the better fighter, but Daniel was more capable of learning and applying what he was taught. As you can see in this scene, with only the slightest amount of guidance he learned and applied what he was taught to do that which only a few minutes ago he assumed impossible.
@@fishfossils8858 I know I'm not trying to argue with you
Your right Miyagi thought Daniel to be a better person and have self confidence bonus was learning karate
I'm just saying there are players that might be a better person than Jordan but that does not make them a better player
@@arronmatsuyama5417 not really. An injured animal with nothing to lose is more dangerous but not better. Thats what chozen was this entire movie. I do agree this movie fight is better but only because its more real than a tournament. However street fighting (fighting for your life) and tournament fighting are different. Tournament fighting has more rules so it requires more will and discipline to not hurt the opponent permanently like a street fight.
@@arronmatsuyama5417 Id say chozen could probably kill johnny or barnes but would lose to them in a tournament. he's also not as skilled as Daniel thats why he wanted to daniel to kill him at the end of their fight.
It just depends on what you consider better
The ability to kill or actual skilled fighting.
No holds barred vs training competition.
Too bad johnny lawrence never had a role model like miyagi. Who knows how far he could have gone.
Can’t wait when Chozen talks to Johnny and tell all stories about Daniel in season 5
Get an ambulance but not for me
