    I wish I'd seen this earlier ... I'm going to try this tonight on Day 4 of my recovery. Getting in / out of bed has been scary ... and sadly my gynecologist did not forewarn me to do research on this (my surgery was done very quickly after a trip to ER ... such little time for preop to realise that a T1D with an insulin pump can't go 4 hours without insulin in her IV tubing (my anesthesiologist refused to do her job if I did not stop my pump ... a scary threat as you're about to be put under with no forewarning) :(

    These are very helpful, but I wouldn't advise doing these until you get your doctor's permission. I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopic, I didn't do these until my doctor said it was ok,which was 7 weeks post op.

      Always ask your doctor or hospital staff before commencing any exercises, this is very good advice

    I’m 2 weeks Post-Op can I do the exercise?

    • @michellephysio
      @michellephysio  5 лет назад +5

      These exercises are usually appropriate for most women without complicated recovery after hysterectomy. The exercises should feel pain free and started very gradually with just a couple of repetitions before progressing on subsequent days. Cease any exercise that causes physical discomfort after surgery

    would you allow the youtube translation to appear in your videos so people who speak other languages are able to understand your description.

      +amoon alnas thanks so much - I have tried this before however the translation was so poor that women couldn't understand the translation. I will approve the translation for this video now if I can - would you mind letting me know how well it translates to your mums spoken language?

      +amoon alnas I've just checked again and it looks as though the whole video needs to be captioned (transcribed) to do this, my apologies for the moment I'm unable to do this

      These deep abdominal exercises can usually be commenced in the first couple of weeks after surgery provided no complications exist - they need to be gentle and start just a couple at a time. If everything feels fine then gradually progress the number of exercises over the following weeks always monitoring discomfort

      Hi Angela these are very gentle abdominal control exercises and most women should be able to commence them in the first couple of weeks after surgery provided they are pain free when doing them and afterwards

      Indigo Rain if you visit a pelvic floor physio before and after surgery there should be no reason why you couldn’t exercise again if that area has been strengthened. I’m post op 6 weeks and I’m determined to go back to my previous fitness level. My pelvic floor is of good strength so hopefully no reason why I couldn’t. Baby steps to start 👍🏼
