As someone who has always had a harder time focusing on core strength(always just consistently average, can never feel an ab burn before getting just tired of doing the movements) the very first tip of "put your fingers on your temples" legit changed any crutch I may have subcontiously used. Those "do nots" are exactly what we were made to do in gym class. I resent early childhood gym classes, being forced to do exercises, that caused me to complain about lower back pain THEN, and as an adult, L5,S1 surgery and very degenerative.

Bob, thank you for explaining this! I work with kids and I am often sitting on the floor or having a kid in my lap causing my back to be in that bent position and I often get lower back/slouching pain. How can I sit or reposition myself to still be on the floor with kids and read with them without putting so much stress on my lower back?

Great! Maybe I should go sue my high school coaches for all the incorrect sit-ups they made us do. No wonder this country is plagued with back issues. Lets see. 50 per day X 100 days X 4 years=20,000. 20k X 100mil students give or take= 2 trillion sit-ups. One hell of a class action.

My whole right chest seems to be flatten and smaller significantly compared to my left chest . I can't activate the oblique muscle and i feel hard to pee or to poop , i can't tighten my abs to complete a simple exercise . I feel really weak on my right side even it is my dominant side . I feel pain in my back and my right buttock . When i try to activate my abs , i get pain in the lower back . It really makes me nervous , i can' breathe properly , i don't feel the air coming down to my abs .
