    I think it’s fascinating how Paula thought she was doing something noble to balance out the power structure she was a part of, but through “helping” Kai, was also exploiting him for her own moral soundness. It shows how dangerous some of the ideas in all those flouncy collegiate philosophy books can be when applied to real life situations. So many layers to this show! I kind of felt like Rachel decided to stay with Shane out of fear. Because when she first tells him she's leaving, he says "be sure you want to do this because it's gonna lead down a dark road". And she looks somewhat terrified at that statement. And then he straight up murders Armond who he had been fighting with since they arrived. And after that is when she inexplicably drops everything and just says I'll stay with you and I promise to be happy. And when she hugs him at the end she looks somewhat scared as well. That was my take on it anyway. Might be reading too much into it.

    • @androsram641
      @androsram641 2 года назад +69

      You are absolutely right. I think Rachels fatal flaw is her inability to face her fears and cope with her own pain. She said it herself *She got caught up into shanes world because he made her feel good and his lifestyle open up many oportunities for her* She was so ready dump him until she realizes the consequences of divorcing shane. That scared her and chooses to settle with him. She becomes a trophy a wife. Which is ironic because if we go back to the first ep, the moment Olivia saw her at the pool with Shane she assumed Rachel was a trophy wife.😢

I’m happy for Quinn’s ending; his parents will probably come back though cus he’s a minor. Hate how Belinda was emotionally there for Tanya just to get dropped, I don’t think Greg will last long 😬 I liked Paula but when she gave that advice to Kai, it went downhill. She didn’t even try to make things right; She gets to go back to her life at college and Kai will still be on bad terms with his family and probably jobless with a reputation for stealing. We should be rooting for her cuz shes the friend of the mean girl, but i just ended up disliking her even more than Olivia which is really interesting. She keeps distancing herself from the evil society she herself grew up and thrives on. The very act of being an accomplice to a robbery in hopes of trying to give back i guess ended up causing more trouble to the people she wanted to help. It’s very hypocritical, and just goes to show you can’t fight fire with fire.

      There is a scene Belinda throwing her business plan into the trash bin hours after she received the money, so no. We can clearly see the difference between Belinda bonding with Tanya in the premier and Belinda being callous to Rachael in the finale. I feel like Belinda is the one who was dealt the most damage in the whole season, obviously besides Kai. On the contrary, if she's good at her job, she would use the financial liberty her marriage brings to embark on a project she is really into, like a writing project, a podcast/documentary project.
