Me: Ok, before Ig o into the Lava zone I need to make sure I have a Cyclops, enough materials to make a base and a prawn suit. You: I got a seaglide I'll be fine
radiation does not stops just bevause you left the affected area. Your clothes your body and tools are radioactive now. Congrqts now you shine on the dark
indeed. I wouldn't even conceive continuing playing until I get rid of that warning.... which is probably why it took me 95 hours to finish the game LOL
This was a very impressive performance, although the glitches take some of the the shine away. I loved it when you swam right through the tentacles of that sea dragon. I'm also impressed how you navigate through all those caves with such confidence, never getting lost, you must have played this game quite a few times. I'm not a speedrunner myself, I'm around three real days into my first game, and I haven't even reached the Lost River. On the other hand, I have eight different bases in various biomes, one primary base with pretty much everything you can build, and the rest being outposts with power plants, scanner room, growbed and in most cases a moon pool.
Welp, it's 2 am and I have been running around the comments explaining the superglide glitch.. Just in case someone is about to comment about it again, lemme explain once more before I die from lack of sleep: Build base. Flood base. Reconstruct hatch. Exit base. "Prepare ship for ludicrous speed! Fasten all seatbelts! Seal all entrances and exits! Close all shops in the mall!" ...If you got that reference, you are now my friend.
What an amazing run, I might also do a commentary over this speedrun to tell you guys what I am doing etc, because many people seem to want commentary.. I need a good microphone though edit: Just finished a glitchless hardcore run: ruclips.net/video/iJBO_fWZkU0/видео.html
Damn, just finished your first sub 1h video a few days ago and you're still going strong breaking records left and right? Well done, love the game and your effort. Cheers!
Haven't heard from this game for years. Your speedrun is still pretty cool! I'm looking forward to your commentary since I have no clue anymore what is going on and how everything works today! :)
blubbfisch98 you're missing out man. There's way more that's been added to the normal game. Not to mention the new Arctic Circle biome that's currently under development for a new game mode.
Alectryon Rooster I hope so. The last time I played the game there was an island added which was pretty useless. Nevertheless, everyone explored it or started building their base around there.
When I saw a SUBNAUTICA sppedrun my first thought was probably "wall bugs 99% through the crust." Wow, I am just speechless how you beat this huge game in under an hour. For an any % run there weren't massive game bugs like some other games, congrats!
I must agree with.... "Your Friendly Neighborhood Grammar Nazi" (is that just your first name Your Friendly Neighborhood Grammar Nazi?).... I mean, I have played this game continuously and finished it in shy of 95 hours (so, in less than a week) and I was exploring all the spots, so how on Earth did you finish it in 19 days??
- How would the glitchless run effect the routing? - Would you need to get the tablet for the door you glitch through, or is that just on the way kinda? - Also, would you need to have a cyclops to reach that deep? - Would it be a 2 hour + run then? - Will you do hardcore on top of that? Sorry for all these question, just curious.
Don't worry about it: 1. It wouldn't effect the route that much. The only main differences are entering the lava facility and aurora the legit way. 2. The extra purple tablets are pretty easy to get. You'll need 2 extra purple tablets if I am correct. 1 for the blue tablet and 1 to enter the control room for deactivating the laser. 3. No, I will still be using the seaglide to reach that deep :) You do need 2 extra oxygen tanks and a few medic kits though, because you can't use the super seaglide glitch anymore. 4. I think a sub 1 hour and 30 minute run is possible, but only time can really tell 5. Yes :D
Neat trick, building a base when you're running out of O2, so that when you die, you're still right where you want to be. I thought you lose the stuff you picked up before you die. Does being in the base reset what are considered "recently picked up" items?
Awesome run! I just finished my first normal run after like 40hs. Even after that i never gound that cave with 4 ion cubes. I love and hate this game at the same time. Those damn 2 pieces of missing lead XD
Wow. You actually did it even faster. Well this will not be beaten for a long damn time i think; just like last time, efficiency on point, this time tho everything went even smoother; i imagine this must have felt like a rush! anyways, well played and gg, can't even suggest anything as this was close to perfection (in the matter of speedrunning of course).
God damn my guy next you come out with a sub 50 minutes run but i, i can't put this into words, i can't even find all the cyclops fragments so i become lazy and use the sub cyclops cheat also friggin rng i can almost never get copper
Well played , u certainly someone knows location and what to find and where unlike me every time I go out looking for something I ended up in wrong spot and lost ..
I just had an idea for a very silly but fun category. Cap%! It’s a race of how fast you can collect every grey and blue cap in the game, and then place them in a base. Could be interesting to see!
Lol, first time seeing the ending to this game. So now he's basically stuck in that shuttle he built. Lol, poor bastard. Good run was enjoyable watching you clear it
Finally breaking under 1 hour. Great job man, congrats! Btw can you compile a list of every raw/non-raw materials you need to get in order to finish the game? Cheers!
This is a really detailed guide on how to speedrun the game, which also has a resource list + a video walkthrough if you're interested: docs.google.com/document/d/1qMrnA9ql6eo2tRLAvs7ccV8jy6Jj-FyugfDwltnFDPg/
Finally got around to watching this and I have a couple questions about the mechanics: -I thought the despawning of the Aurora was fixed in one of the recent patches. Your timer hides the build so I'm not sure which build you're playing on. Which build is this? -Is it possible to get the Neptune blueprints (non-glitched) without welder and repair tools? -Is the time capsule mandatory? I thought it wasn't. -There was one point where you fabricated a second hand scanner. Why?
1. Despawning is indeed fixed, but this run was done on an older version. 2. As far as I am aware, no. I actually did a glitchless run yesterday, which might interest you 3. It is in this version of subnautica, nowadays it isn't required anymore. 4. To recycle my battery back to 100% capacity. Instead of making a completely new battery, all you have to do is create a scanner with a nearly depleted battery, which only costs 1 titanium
Oh! I should have figured that out about the scanner. I convert depleted batteries to power cells sometimes. Something tells me that will be patched eventually. :)
First time watching a Subnautica speedrun, and have a few questions (sorry): 1. How is your seaglide so damn fast? 2. How are you getting the fabricator menu to stay up when creation is in progress? 3. How are you breaking limestone/sandstone so fast?
No problem! 1. It's called the seaglide glitch. All you have to do is deconstruct/reconstruct a hatch while your base is flooded. After doing this you can leave your habitat and you'll have the seaglide glitch. 2. Hold shift while crafting 3. Bind "use" and "right click" to mousewheel up/down. Just spin your mouse and you'll break limestone instantly
That starting tube/cave... never seen one like that. Was that a bug or something? And honestly, if you could upload a secondary of this with commentary or something, that would be amaizing :D
Achievement unlocked: Escape velocity (Escape the planet in under one hour) That's insane though, what purpose does making the huge habitat which floods serve? Also, TFW you escape, but you have severe cancer.
You finished the game in 54 min (58 with ending) while im to afraid for exploring everything around mountain island xD (btw how much luck do you have with all the reapers?)
Why was the footage sped up lol? The sea glide was going Salic speed Well some of the footage was sped up, but what I found weird is that the timer wasn’t. Ps the music sounds really good sped up lol Other than that this was a really great run! You beat it way faster than i can, I’ve spent 1d 11hrs on my save and I’m not even done And I didn’t know you can use the fabricator whilst your base is full with water
I noticed some strange things happening with the habitats and seaglide at around 15 minutes. Is there anywhere I can find an explanation of the glitches used? Sounds interesting.
How the heck did you ascend so quickly at 16:47 ??? Edit: Actually how in the hell is your seaglide moving at triple-ish speed for much longer past that point???
It's the name of the creatures that roam near the area where I scan the remaining cyclops parts. I should probably rename that split to cyclops, because it's a little bit confusing right now :P

I think in my first 54 minutes I built a knife
same
Stankzilla Lol
same
In my first 54 mins I built a seaglide
In my first 54 minutes I started to play becuase the frame rates on the cutscene where lower than the depth of the active lava zone
"After weeks without human contact--"
"I've only been here for 30 minutes!"
IKR
SaltyWaffles same with come here to me aren't you dead sea emperor
Me: Ok, before Ig o into the Lava zone I need to make sure I have a Cyclops, enough materials to make a base and a prawn suit.
You: I got a seaglide I'll be fine
The RADIATION IS REAL
a seaglide and a moonpool
Bae: come over
Me: I can't I'm stranded in an unknown alien planet
Bae: my parents arent home
Me:
“Give me 54 minutes”
Institution Of Steel or from a popular meme format which sparked the same thought on 2 similar videos
Wouldn't it be called a speed-swim?
Jonathan Duggan but you're running the game. Not swimming the game
my mind:
+Jonathan Duggan you must be fun at parties
Jonathan Duggan hell yeah
Damn, that's some pretty strong radiation if you are still affected even after leaving the planet.
XD
The radiation in this game is hilarious. A skin-tight "lead" wetsuit somehow blocks all damaging radiation in the game. x3
That what happened when you remove the aruroa from existence using a habitat builder
radiation does not stops just bevause you left the affected area. Your clothes your body and tools are radioactive now. Congrqts now you shine on the dark
Radiation Detected
LOL
indeed. I wouldn't even conceive continuing playing until I get rid of that warning.... which is probably why it took me 95 hours to finish the game LOL
Never seen anyone give less shits about oxygen. lol
No time to give a shit about oxygen ;)
This was a very impressive performance, although the glitches take some of the the shine away. I loved it when you swam right through the tentacles of that sea dragon. My total playing time is 58 hours, and I haven't seen below 350 meters. My recent discovery: Prawn suit can easily kill bonesharks.
Welp, it's 2 am and I have been running around the comments explaining the superglide glitch.. Just in case someone is about to comment about it again, lemme explain once more before I die from lack of sleep:

My man ;) Unfortunately I didn't get the reference without googling it :/
Heh.. Lil spaceballs reference there.
WERE THE SPACE BALLS
What an amazing run, I might also do a commentary over this speedrun to tell you guys what I am doing etc, because many people seem to want commentary.. I need a good microphone though
edit: Just finished a glitchless hardcore run: ruclips.net/video/iJBO_fWZkU0/видео.html
Minkey Awsome, glitches is definitely what I want to see even if it does take a bit longer XD. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks! I will my man
No it wasn't and thanks!
I would love a commentary thing over the vid to see your thought process. Would be very interesting:) keep up the good work 👍
Minkey do you increase your maximum speed with the sea glide somehow it looked like it was faster than usual
Damn, just finished your first sub 1h video a few days ago and you're still going strong breaking records left and right? Well done, love the game and your effort. Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words and taking the time to watch my runs ^^
Still waiting for that virtual reality run
If you send me a virtual headset I'll do it xD
Well, you do know they are available in-game, right?
Just catch one! :P ... ...the Oculus!
(the cool peeper with the pink eye) *_#BadJokes_*
I prefer using the vive, but there are none in subnautica ;)
March 8th 2018:
"Can not despawn Aurora by building a base next to it anymore"
Rip LOL thank god you made this before that happened
Yea lmao I just read about that.. thank god I am planning on doing glitchless right now
Yeah. xD It would suck if you were planning on one more attempt at any% xD
34:08 WELL HI THERE OLD SEA DRAGO BUDDY
Haven't heard from this game for years. Your speedrun is still pretty cool!
I'm looking forward to your commentary since I have no clue anymore what is going on and how everything works today! :)
blubbfisch98 what the game fully came out like a month ago everybody was crazy about it
boba thesavage107 2.0
Not in my circle, we played the Early-Access Subnautica in 2015/2016? The hype is simply gone.
blubbfisch98 you're missing out man. There's way more that's been added to the normal game. Not to mention the new Arctic Circle biome that's currently under development for a new game mode.
Alectryon Rooster
I hope so. The last time I played the game there was an island added which was pretty useless. Nevertheless, everyone explored it or started building their base around there.
Definitely wasn't expecting a sub 54 😲 Nice run!
You're not the only one holy shit
But it says 53:51 in the title so how come you weren't expecting a sub 54 run lol
MirrorMeddle you are a pro and genis
You are absolutely amazing at this game
My man ;)
Minkey I have played a few days and just now have a prawn suit how do you do all this within an hour
My first playthrough also took around 30 hours dude :) Practicing a lot and having notes during the speedrun helps a lot to get these times
Minkey how many tries did it take to bypass your last record or was this the first try
Because I know you have to put a lot of effort into everything you do I'm going to stop wasting your time now
Dude... you're a beast. Congratz
Nice run! Under one hour too!
Awesome job mate, really enjoyed this, would love to see a commentary over this to hear your thought process etc, keep it up
Nice speerdrun to do the story in under an hour is crazy!
Wow! For only 466 subscribers, this videos quality was extremely high!
Edit: Also, well done.
Thanks man :)
Minkey you grew fast in 4 months
Impressive performance. I watched this at double speed; speedwatching the speedrun!
EXTRA fast
so you finished the game in under 27 minutes. Neat!
Good run! Really looking forward to seeing the glitchless one!
Thanks man, it's coming!
Amazing and beautiful run congratulation !
man, you're on a role! gg, and keep breaking those records!
did any1 else notice that his seaglide started going faster?
Yes
Yeah, if you exit a flooded base after reconstructing the hatch, you can use the super seaglide glitch, which is really useful in any%.
Dude, amazing run. Seriously interested in seeing how those glitchless runs go
Thanks man! I have done some research on a glitchless run, but havent actually ran one yet so it's gonna be fun :P
When I saw a SUBNAUTICA sppedrun my first thought was probably "wall bugs 99% through the crust." Wow, I am just speechless how you beat this huge game in under an hour. For an any % run there weren't massive game bugs like some other games, congrats!
Thanks a lot man, it's a really fun game to speedrun
I’m learning so many tricks for this game that I think I’ll be able to get a Prawn Suit in my Subnautica today!🙂
Is this minecraft 1.13? Wow, they released it quickly!
Congrats on the wr
Thanks my man
Nice run man, keep it up! :DD
it took you 5 minutes to get the seaglide and it took me over a day
Wow, and I thoght my speed run of 19 days was fast.
It was a joke...
- How would the glitchless run effect the routing?

- Also, would you need to have a cyclops to reach that deep?

4. I think a sub 1 hour and 30 minute run is possible, but only time can really tell
5. Yes :D
I think the explosion of the Aurora is the bottleneck. If I remember correctly you can't board it before the explosion, or was this changed?
Can't board, no breach to enter before the explosion
don't forget you have to make a 2nd blue tablet, shouldn't be that hard as its ion + 2 kyanite
How's he going to overcome thi- oh. Well there's still- oh. Well how abou- Oh. Well damn.
yeah... in 54 minutes he was orbiting the planet in his own rocket while I was marveling at my ability of making batteries :(
Neat trick, building a base when you're running out of O2, so that when you die, you're still right where you want to be.
I thought you lose the stuff you picked up before you die. Does being in the base reset what are considered "recently picked up" items?
Yeep
I only finished subnautica for the first time yesterday, and these tactics disturb and excite me.
i wonder what will happen if you disable the weapon before rescue arrives (before they get shot down)
I've tried that before.. they tell you that they're unable to land due to some kind of debris
Before it's released
It just shoot out of thin air
Awesome run! I just finished my first normal run after like 40hs. Even after that i never gound that cave with 4 ion cubes. I love and hate this game at the same time.
Those damn 2 pieces of missing lead XD
Wow. You actually did it even faster. Well this will not be beaten for a long damn time i think; just like last time, efficiency on point, this time tho everything went even smoother; i imagine this must have felt like a rush!
anyways, well played and gg, can't even suggest anything as this was close to perfection (in the matter of speedrunning of course).
Thanks :) Beating your PB definitely gives you a rush
God damn my guy next you come out with a sub 50 minutes run but i, i can't put this into words, i can't even find all the cyclops fragments so i become lazy and use the sub cyclops cheat also friggin rng i can almost never get copper
I only get copper literally nothing else, I would be nice if I got silver for once
SunBreaker 123 i don't get enough silver either : (
Copper and silver come from two different kinds of outcroppings...
The secret is to build scanner rooms everywhere.
kenny barnes YES I KNOW AND I BARELY GET ANY
Well played , u certainly someone knows location and what to find and where unlike me every time I go out looking for something I ended up in wrong spot and lost ..
Good run was enjoyable watching you clear it
Guess I'll just chill in my shuttle until I die of hunger xD
... or from radiation :P
RADIATION DETECTED
wich at least shouldnt take too long since you really didnt eat much if anything at all :D
Haha, the funny thing is that it's not even his shuttle either. The government takes ownership of it as soon as it was built right? Lol
This is really good, good work I speed run my subnautica for 8 hours
Thanks man! Gotta start somewhere when speedrunning
It was all cuz of lockers right? ;P
Hell yea, speedrun strats :)
Just WOUW :O CG!
that was downright impressive
You deserve more subscribers
Well you just earned yourself a new sub
Finally breaking under 1 hour. Great job man, congrats!
Btw can you compile a list of every raw/non-raw materials you need to get in order to finish the game? Cheers!
This is a really detailed guide on how to speedrun the game, which also has a resource list + a video walkthrough if you're interested: docs.google.com/document/d/1qMrnA9ql6eo2tRLAvs7ccV8jy6Jj-FyugfDwltnFDPg/
i had no clue what was going on but those golds made me moist
Gratz again!
Nvm I figure out how you exit flooded base with sea glide and you go like sanic
Namyen TV oh that's how he was going so fast
was wondering what the end was. Thanks for sharing
No problem dude
Finally got around to watching this and I have a couple questions about the mechanics:
-I thought the despawning of the Aurora was fixed in one of the recent patches.
I actually did a glitchless run yesterday, which might interest you

How did the seaglide suddenly become so fast around the 15:00 mark??
cheat
A glitch where If you deconstruct then reconstruct a hatch in a flooded base you go super fast
hey what data is in the room at 44:04, never seen that place
14:30 speed glitch?
This is cool also that radiation screen polution tho lol
Good work!
look at me trying to find the fragments of the sea glider when its RIGHT NEXT TO THE BASE
First time watching a Subnautica speedrun, and have a few questions (sorry):
2. Hold shift while crafting
3. Bind "use" and "right click" to mousewheel up/down. Just spin your mouse and you'll break limestone instantly
Cool, thanks for the quick answers! Congrats on the record!
32:50 hmm. Not sure if that was supposed to happen
No it wasn't supposed to happen xD You rarely get killed by those crabs in there so I just took the risk
Radiation is in the whole space.
yes, we're all doomed if we leave Earth. Fucking OP contaminated the space :(
just an off the wall question, whats up with your sea glide? your ascending and descending speed are outrageous!
Deconstructing/reconstructing a hatch while your base is flooded gives you the seaglide glitch, which makes you go really fast
27:49 was that a Warper that attacked you?
Yep it wanted me dead
That starting tube/cave... never seen one like that. Was that a bug or something? And honestly, if you could upload a secondary of this with commentary or something, that would be amaizing :D
There are 2 of those huge tubes, you just gotta know where they are
Minkey Huh, never found them.
Achievement unlocked: Escape velocity (Escape the planet in under one hour)
That's insane though, what purpose does making the huge habitat which floods serve?
Also, TFW you escape, but you have severe cancer.
Deconstructing/reconstructing a hatch while your base is flooded gives you the super seaglide glitch, which makes you go really fast :D
Takes damage, loses no health. I call Shenanigans! Starts at 6:10
Nice job!
thanks!
would like to see Subnautica speedrun without fast-swim glitch
I got a glitchless hardcore run on my channel ;)
In my 54 minutes i was still searching for that fucking cave soulfur
4:25
did... did you just erase the Aroura from existence?
ViZeShadowZ yeah he did but they patched that a day ago
31:05 loooool XD very smart.
Not following. Please explain!
If you deactivate the laser, can the sunbeam land and you escape the planet?
Nope. They just radio you saying they cannot land because of rocks in the orbit that are in the way, or something like that.
I never thought of going into that thermal cave.
It's a great area :D
You finished the game in 54 min (58 with ending) while im to afraid for exploring everything around mountain island xD (btw how much luck do you have with all the reapers?)
Why was the footage sped up lol? The sea glide was going Salic speed
Well some of the footage was sped up, but what I found weird is that the timer wasn’t.
Ps the music sounds really good sped up lol
Other than that this was a really great run!
You beat it way faster than i can, I’ve spent 1d 11hrs on my save and I’m not even done
And I didn’t know you can use the fabricator whilst your base is full with water
It's looks so fast because of the seaglide glitch, which makes your seaglide go 2x faster
THAT WAS INSANE
nice run
How did you skip the PDA boot up? Btw, love the videos!
Hold esc ;) And thanks my man.. I'll be doing a commentary soon over this speedrun to explain everything
Wow! That was a fast reply. Thanks for taking time to talk!
Currently watching some videos on youtube so I can respond pretty fast haha, no problem man
You broke the history of the game.
I noticed some strange things happening with the habitats and seaglide at around 15 minutes. Is there anywhere I can find an explanation of the glitches used? Sounds interesting.
Still wanna know?
Constructing and deconstructing the hatch while your base is flooded activates the super seaglide glitch
How the heck did you ascend so quickly at 16:47 ???
Edit: Actually how in the hell is your seaglide moving at triple-ish speed for much longer past that point???
Its a glitch that has something to do with the broken habitat.
It's because of the seaglide glitch. Deconstructing/reconstructing a hatch while your base is flooded makes you go really fast with the seaglide
that was amazing!...dumb question but why do you need to build a cyclops?...I would love to hear a commentary for this entire video
Jameson French one part of the spaceship need a cyclops energy shield. That can only be build inside of cyclops upgrade station.
Ay pro tip, you ever thought about using fire extinguisher underwater at beginning to go faster?
Yes we've been comparing times compared to swimming and came to the conclusion that it's not worth the trouble
Now that is what I call “I know what I am doing”
Thanks ^^
Did you let that robot crab kill you on purpose?
Congratulansions :D XD
you werent on this planet for very long^^
what does treader mean?
It's the name of the creatures that roam near the area where I scan the remaining cyclops parts. I should probably rename that split to cyclops, because it's a little bit confusing right now :P
Yeah, Cyclops parts sounds better. Also, there are no sea treaders near the Sparse Reef.
Ohh.. well, I got the name from the speedrunning community and have been using it ever since
I think having the WR entitles you to rename a few things. ;)
what's WR??
Nice, thank you.
GOOD JOB m8
Hi! :) I am currently casually playing the game (1st time)... and decided to have a look at a speedrun... turn up i found the current #1 :)
Anyway I have a quick question... at around 14.30 , it seems like you gain a massive speed boost... how did you achieve that? :) was it the deconstruct of your hatch and rebuild that made that happen?
Yes it was, deconstructing/reconstructing a hatch while your base is flooded gives you the seaglide glitch which makes you go really fast
thanks a lot for taking the time to reply! :)
while your here and writing back.. i'm also curious why you didnt lose anything on the few times when you do death-warp? :) -- and can you really build stuff over any structure to make them dissapear? thats pretty incredible! :P
Hope they fix it though... game is great... i've been watching some vids (trying to skip too spoiler stuff) so thats its less stressfull when im actually playing... your speedrun helped a lot! :) i was quite scared of volcanic heat... saw you go in there without anything... :)
Entering a moonpool saves your inventory :) And they are actually planning on fixing the glitches/bugs
How did u go super fast when u were on your seaglide
It's a glitch that speedrunners tend to use that involves exiting a flooded base after deconstructing and reconstructing the hatch
Kliptonite oh cool thx
question how do you move so fast, can you tell us what little secrets and bugs you do for this?
Deconstructing/reconstructing a hatch while your base is flooded gives you the super seaglide glitch, which makes you go really fast
