  • We drive a 2024 Genesis GV60 built on the EGMP platform. What did we think of it? Well it's interesting but is it any good? Is it worth buying in the heavily saturated market segment. Let's find out!
    Sorry about the audio quality.

I wanted a small luxury EV with all the amenities (head up display, buttons, 200+ kW charging) and the GV60 Advanced was the only one I found in the U.S. I test drove Ioniq 5 and EV6 and the interiors were not as nice. Considering the charging performance (10%-80% in 18 minutes), the range is enough for road tripping. Also, the price difference between GV60 Advanced and Ioniq 5 Limited AWD and EV6 GT-Line AWD was only a few thousand dollars.

You touched many of the same points I came to when looking. I've had mine (GV60P) now for about 6 weeks. I love it. Same color as here. The charging time is awesome. I have seen so many other vehicles at EA chargers, that are sitting there while I am in and out. The other day, saw an ID4 that was sitting at 40KW while I was doing 240. I also checked out I5 and EV6 and it was the premium feel and look inside that had me also. To me the only way to go right now with all the changes in EV is a lease, why do I want to be stuck with one for more than 3 years. Just like I didn't want to have an iPhone for 2 years max, years ago.

I think you're disingenuous in comparing the cost of the performance version of the GV60 with the Lexus. I recently bought the RWD version and it's much better than the top trim of the Ioniq 6 or the Kia in terms of comfort and ride quality. Granted, I know you're in Canada and probably need AWD, which I don't need where I live. As far as Lexus is concerned, they are the most boring vehicles known to man. The GV60 is much more fun to drive.

I agree that it’s not an easy recommendation at that price. However the entry level RWD is a better value option.
    I vehemently disagree with the statement -“it’s nothing special”. -it is absolutely something special but whether one wants to pay that premium for the plushness and features over the ionic 5 and EV6 such as;
B&O 17 speaker Hifi, Noise cancellation for exceptional in cabin quietness, genesis logo puddle lights, ground projected dotted lines for rear lights, rotating crystal sphere, motorised drivers seat bolsters at speed and set as required, close to centre twin panoramic roof blinds, alcantera head-liner, door cards and a,b,c pillars, Nappa leather option, motorized Reach/take of steering wheel, aluminium trim over piano black. (I’m sure there’s a few I’ve missed)
is a question each individual will have to ask themselves.
For me that was a resound “yes”.
In the interest of transparency I’m in the UK and bought the fully loaded RWD 225bhp car in 2022.
It’s shorter than the EV6 by some 16.5cm (half a foot) so easier for city centre and multi-storey parking but less boot space. If you need to take 4 people camping the GV60 will struggle with space. But if the more compact size, luxury and fantastic ergonomics of buttons and switches appeal it’ll not disappoint.

Fair Enough! You bring up some great points.

In the states, end of month deals in June are great. $13,500 off in lease incentives, plus a $3-$4k discount if you haggle some. Loyalty also kicks in an extra $2k. Doing the lease will also insulate you from that EV depreciation.

100% agreed. This is why I leased my 2 EVs however just a matter of time before residuals are tweaked

480Km of range is now average? Compare to what? Looking odd? Better looking than Tesla's fish head front.

All these SUVs are roughly the same range wise. It might vary slightly depending on the cycle used to test. It’s subjective as well based on so many factors. 400-500km is pretty industry standard

@@simplygregsterev Oh so now 400 and 500 Km are the same, moving the goal post? The e-gmp platform is a lot of things but average, to the exception of Tesla, most other SUV in the same class require much bigger batteries and will charge at much lower peak power and for a shorter period. The combine range and charging speed make the e-gmp cars in a class of their own.

@@francisbeaulieu9591 ok? Sorry I found the GV60 average and lacklustre. Id rather have an Ioniq 6 for less as I mentioned. I did enjoy the Ioniq 5 and 6. GV60 not so much
Maybe you should go argue with yourself in the mirror?

      HI.
I've been driving a GV 60 for nine months.
Battery level 80% to 10% is reached after 211 miles 😀
